This is where I am. Updater says "Downloaded 71.4 of 120081.7 MBytes Speed 0.9 MB/s" and has for a LOOOOOONNNGGG time. Going nowhere fast.

So, with the F-4U in the pipeline, and the WW2 Marianas Map coming....for those of us that love the PTO, could we throw in a Solomon Islands map on the Wish List for "some day"? Would be great to fly the slot from Henderson up to Bouganville, or even New Britain. That whole area was massively important during the war....

This was with a hot start, flying along. So, technically, the engine wasn't warm, but game wise, it should have been considered warm. It happens often enough that it is annoying, but not so bad that I want to stop flying the Mossy.... (Now, taxi-ing the damn thing is another issue we won't even talk about! LOL!)

On the other hand, I am getting to practice my dead stick landings a lot. (I readily admit that I have less than 15 hours in the Mossie, so I am just a beginner. But flying along and just having one engine quit on my [erroneous ignition timing] can be a bit frustrating, especially since I haven't done anything, just flying along at 2650 and 9. Hopefully, it is just me being a NOOB and not an issue with the plane.)

OH, man. There you go, spoiling my childhood and ruining most of my adult life. Hollywood makes stuff up? I am befuddled, crushed beyond reasonable hope.

The way I fly, collapsing the nose gear on carrier landings is normal.....

Well, I understand you can't test it with mods, but it worked fine up until that latest update. Not sure what changed, but something with the Shrike changed. Eagerly awaiting the planned updates to the Shrike and all. I know, patience is a virtue...

Patience, Grasshopper. When it arrives, I'll buy it, I'll fly it. While I am as eager as the next guy, I can fly the Scooter and the other planes while I wait. Sure, I want it out yesterday, same as the Skyraider, but I can wait. (At least I keep telling myself that!)

Yes, they do crash, but not all the time. It is weird - don't know what happened. If I have a 4 plane flight leave a carrier, usually lose one of them to crashing into the sea. Another thing is "Bingo fuel, ejecting". I don't think it is the A-4, but the AI for DCS. It does strange things sometimes.

Back on the deck handling - I spend a lot of time flying from a ground base.

Rats. This is going to seriously cut in to my DCS time, since I fly the A-4 almost exclusively.....

Sometimes, it is better to not know how things happen, just be happy they got the job done.

The beaches look a lot different than when I visited in '74. The same with Avranches. London sure has grown up a bit. Really an impressive piece of work. I know that there are some updates that will be done, and I can wait for that to occur. It is REALLY nice. The bocage looks a lot better....have to relearn my landmarks, but hey, I can live with that.

Yes, it is annoying....especially when I am just now learning to fly the Jug. The perfect landing is still eluding me, so I have been blowing up a lot.

So, recently, the AN-M65 doesn't seem to be "right" for the P-47. For example, when I bomb with a pair of them, I destroy the outpost just fine, the troops all die, the trucks blow up....but the only thing that gets reported is the outpost. The rest are shown destroyed, but don't get a report of such. When I fly the A-4, everything works just like it is supposed to do. Any ideas?

Ah, the Fulda Gap. Home for five years of my life. Would love to see that map, and a good F-105D to fly in it. Heck, even the old A-10 would be appropriate for late 70s early 80s. Alsfeld, the Vogelsberg, Fulda, Bad Hersfeld, Lauterbach. Home, sweet home.

So, I am starting my building things project simply, the A-4's ECM panel. This panel has several lights - rectangles, with lights underneath, you know, typical air craft type stuff. What does everyone use for these? I can put some LEDs in there and cover it with a piece of clear PET/Plexi and label it...but wondering if there was a source for rectangular 10-12mm LEDs that my google fu can't find.

Urbi: Took your mod out for a dusk flight, dropped some bombs, shot some rockets, did a landing. Works fine for me.

So, can someone help me out here....I had, at one time, downloaded a file that had some extra key binds in it....so I could bind the master arm switch and stuff. As a result of chasing a DCS crash with the Bronco, I deleted and reloaded the Bronco, but failed to keep that file (or I can't find it in my stash of downloaded DCS stuff).... Anyway, if someone remembers what I am talking about, could you point me in the right direction? Many thanks.

Wild. Still works great for me (except the guns). I did have some issues with the Bronco, but nailed that down to the Crazy Eddie textures. Hopefully you guys can get it figured out, it really is a lot of fun to fly.

This would be SOOOOOO cool to have in game. Maybe one day, when someone who can does it. With the Bronco AND the Skymaster, I'd be in FAC heaven.

Well, I dunno what to think. It worked, then didn't after an update update, reloaded it, it works again. Not sure what is going on, but I am glad it's working for me now. Would really hate to lose this bird.

Sparc: Not sure if this is the same issue, but with the A-4E mod there was a Microsoft thing that had to be updated. Microsoft's Visual studio was the problem. Not sure it that is the case with the A-29 or not.... I also had a few issues with dropping bombs and firing the guns, until I checked my keyboard mapping. That was my issue. Other than that, I have had no problems at all with 2.8 and the new download. I love the aircraft, it has my second most hours of flight time (after the A-4)...but truth be told, I think the Bronco is going to catch up soon.
