  1. I´m a DCS carrier ops guy that fly mainly the Hornet, but, i´m loving to learn the procedures (USAF) for the Viper. If you understand why things work the way they do you´ll make no confusion on my humble opinion. I have limited time so even when i´m away from my PC i always carry on my phone (and also in the work computer) manuals and procedures to read on free time during the day at work.
  2. Hi, I know it´s not a fix but did you try to lower the HUD brightness to see if it helps? in the pic you have the HUD brightness max. Leave feedback please. F.
  3. After the Simshaker get to work again i will try to do the same but for the T-45C using the Hornet profile. With your expertise, it might work? Thank you.
  4. It´s possible to add support to the T-45C Goshawk via lua edit? Thank you.
  5. +1 here. I was going to do a flight and i get no vibration at all and it doesn´t detect the Hornet. I tested the vibration on the simshaker options and it´s working as intended but not in DCS since last DCS update.
  6. Dammit. That have keep me "away" from DCS for a few weeks... My guess is that only be fixed when ED implement the new shadows coding. I think i read something about it but i can´t find it, if so i will post here the link.
  7. I use charts/checklists in a real kneeboard (VR user), and do the procedures by the book as possible within DCS. There´s no proper ATC as mentioned above, so, since i´m no longer in a virtual squadron (and we used always procedures for Take Off/Landing) i talk to myself as if i was talking to a real ATC to keep profiency. And in DCS many of the airports and airbases have airport signals. Personally i taxi always using charts and following the airport signals as they should be followed. Same thing when deployed on aircraft carrier.
  8. Minute 3:27 of the video i posted, the bump is noticeable but after the launch bar is already in place. I use the Andre´s Jetseat with SimShaker and the bump is simulated as a ground bump and i think it´s more or less as it is. But you´re talking about the bump when the launch bar gets hooked to the shuttle and i have the same opinion than you. The only bump that should be present it´s when the shuttle gets tension.
  9. Que dice lo fichero quando descargas? 1.0.8? lo meo fichero diz 1.0.8. (Me desculpa pelo meo español)
  10. Agreed. I´m a carrier ops guy so i´m all Hornet since my childhood (46 now), but, i´m loving learn new procedures with the Viper and flying it. Eager for the Eurofighter! The F-15E was in my plans but i think it will work out better with a friend for WSO as in the Tomcat.
  11. Yes. The Tomcat, it´s an outstanding module but since i bought it on day one maybe fly it a couple of times. Not my kind of aircraft systems wise.
  12. I think he meant in F2 view (like the aviator jumping in the seat in the cat shot). In VR i already do this by instinct EDIT: I use the Andre´s jeatseat with Simshaker and it has an option for traps/cat shots, it´s great.
  13. I use the Superhornet AI Tanker to add a new challenge to my AAR. From the 3 (KC-135, S-3B, and Superhornet AI Tanker) it´s the one more challenging to me
  14. For the first time i set Shadows to OFF and i get the exact same performance in VR in previous 2.7 with Shadows to Flat Only. With 2.8 if i set to Flat only, as usual, i lost a noticeable performance. Instead of 30 FPS (in high density of statics, etc) i get 15/20 FPS. Flying in VR without Shadows even in Flat it´s not the same experience. Although, i must say, after last update i get better FPS but majority of the performance is lower. Going to test tomorrow (holiday here in Portugal). If there´s anything worth mention i will post it here. By the way, i´m using latest Nvidia drivers (526.98). So, my advice is to try both options to get a better feel of the perfomance loss, or not. If so leave feedback please. Meanwhile check this drivers version in this post, might help. In my case i didn´t get better performance so i updated to the latest drivers:
  15. Sorry to hear that. Take your time and get full recovered. DCS will stay here and we will be waiting for you too. Thank you for your work to the community. Really appreciated. Best regards from Portugal, F.
  16. "Loved the interiors of the tug and the Somali trawler (this one has a Capt. Philips poster)" Need to check it in VR.
  17. Hi, When trying to install last version 2.5.5 on the same directory as always i get this error, anyone with same issue? Thank you in advance, F.
  18. For those who use SteamVR as i do (Valve Index user) set Throttling Behavior to Fixed 120.0. It gives me smoother performance (not the holy grail of fps but it helps). I don´t know how it works with other headsets using SteamVR but for the Index it helps performance. Regards, F.
  19. Thank you. Good find today with this thread.
