Is there an easy way to grab coordinates off F10 map in VR?
lefuneste01 replied to John McClane's topic in DCS Core Wish List
You can try my mod : Once in F10 Map, you press Shift+F3. Then you will have map coordinates displayed "floating" in cockpit view, so you will be able to use them to type coordinates on UFC. Shift+F5 will remove display, once used. If you map these keys to joystick button, you can do it without moving your hands from your hotas. -
But my mod is working with FSR, so you still can change colors, have more tuned sharpen and so on.

Hello. What this library is doing is simple : give a lower than steamVR resolution target to the game, then upscale game ouput to steamVR resolution target and apply sharpen filter to the whole image, because upscaling process mqy create a slight blurr. Why do you win fps ? Because DCS will compute its output at lower resolution than without this library. Will you loose details ? Yes if the resolution given to DCS by the library is lower than your HMD resolution. Will it increase shimmering ? Yes because sharpen filter is prone to create shimmering, and it will be applyed on whole image. When should I not use it ? If you are not using SS do bot use it, because DCS will compute at lower resolution and you will loose details. Should I use SS with this library ? Yes, it's the main pupose : "low cost SS", because it's done after game rendering, by aglobal image processing. Should I use reshade with this library ? No if you are using sharpen only, because it incluses on sharpen filter. Is it compatible with VRneckSafer that includes also a openVR library ? Yes, you just have to overwrite the one of DCS, not the one of VRNeckSafer. Personally, I prefer to not use this library sharpen filter (option set to 0) and use my mod sharpen, because I can set up diferent settings for MFD, HUD, cockpit, external.

Hello, you can try to use my mod : It works in 2D and VR and it will allow you to tune reflect by an ingame menu. This other mod will disable cockpit reflect but is more intrusive:

Depth Perception for DCS Mirrors (VR)

They are not flat, they provide depth perception, and the sim is a matter of great battles... -
Depth Perception for DCS Mirrors (VR)
lefuneste01 replied to Magic Zach's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hello, just for your information, mirror are working well in VR in another WWII sim, which is not based on a raytraced engine and provides globally better fps than DCS...Even if not so usefull than in real life because of HMD resolution, I uses them in P47D razorback, hs129, P38, P39,... So you may just add to your elements that they are limited to DCS... -
15 FPS BOOSTED IN DCS VR WITH THIS
lefuneste01 replied to DishDoggie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hello, you should have a look here : Globally, you win fps because your game is rendering picture at a lower resolution than target resolution (at the opposite of SS), then FSR is doing upscaling to increase resolution + sharpen to fix some blurring introduced by upscaling. So if you do not want to loose details, you should keep at least game rendering resolution as your HMD resolution. It's a less costly way to do SuperSampling. If currently you are not doing SS, you will loose details (lower game rendering resolution), sharpen will not create missing information. And sharpen introduce jaggies, also. I did not check if performrance of FSR sharpen is better than with universal shader mod, maybe it's best to have FSR at 100% + sharpen than this mod. But unlike my mod, it's a global sharpen, you can not have different factors for cockpit, external, Hud, MFD,... -
Universal shader or new fholger mod?
lefuneste01 replied to markturner1960's topic in Virtual Reality
I did a quick test this morning : sharpen in fholger is to be set to zero, otherwise there is jaggies increase. Set 0,77 as factor, I got noce fps boost if I keep same output resol, and same fps as before if I increase output resol by 1,3...I did not see neither image quality worsening, nor more jaggies when undersampling, but also I did not feel image beeing far better when increasing output resolution. So I'll say by default keep output resol and take fps win... -
Universal shader or new fholger mod?
lefuneste01 replied to markturner1960's topic in Virtual Reality
universal shader mod is reshade : advantage : potentially huge community and filters, inconvenient: processing of whole image, you may want different settings for cockpit and "outside". Eg sharpen in cokpit to improve readability, AA for "outside" to reduce jaggies. You should also try my mod, that allows this kind of differents settings, plus some other nice features. As speed-of-heat wrote, fholger is more to win fps for same image quality, or increase image quality for same fps. So you may use both. -
You can also use my mod to maintain radio messages displayed in cockpit view as long as you want, and have map coordinate (F10) displayed in front of you when in cockpit view. No need to write or dictate anything, just two key press : Shitf F3 : copy and freeze message or map coordinates, shift F5 stop display it.

@speed-of-heat and @zildac For Zildac : Is d3d11.dll in same directory than DCS.exe ? For Speed-of-heat : if hunting=2 is set, you should have green lines on 2d screen mirror when pressing Num0. Logs ahown thar mod is installed correctly. What are your graphic options ? Did you check graphic options to remove those given in first post ? Do you have other mods installed (eg Mustang) ? I checked with MSAA off each time on a repaired version of DCS, for vanilla, kegetys full and kegetys clear water without IC configuration. I suggest you to do a repair of DCS with option "check all files" (you can let 3dmigoto in place, as it is not modifying any DCS files it will remains). It's a bit long, but not as much as recompilation... So, once repaired, try on vanilla DCS with MSAA off, then if it's working, try with MSAA. Then if it's still working, install Kegetys mod, install my patch for Kegetys to overwrite the needed shaders in bazar subdirectories, launch DCS, take a coffre during recompilation, and try.

1st topic updated to include reference for 11.1 version that will improve compatibility with Kegetys mod (including "clear water without IC") and fix issue with text in kneepad map for Kegetys mod. I did not check compatibility with "clear water with IC" version, cleaning DCS + recompiling shaders take a lot of time.... It may works, who knows...

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
lefuneste01 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I confirm : replace the file in \bazar\shaders\MaterialFactory by the included one and it will fix the issue. But it will also break the compatibility of my 3dmigoto mod with this one...I'll post an update this week. ils151.hlsl
