I came through the original Oculus eco system from CV1 to Rift S, then G1 to G2 . I learnt about the VR1 really early and I made the decision to not invest in the Aero or any of the Pimax HMD's. Its display cannot be compared as this is a significant upgrade, but I do believe this is a headset that I can grow with for the foreseeable future. I have no complaints about the VR1. The Discord group is a good place to visit as more and more headsets are delivered. New Year will see first US orders being sent out. Have you actually placed your order ?
-
At the moment 70% as we are using the SteamVR runtime.
-
Can I suggest you watch the video by Reflected Simulations called 4 Tricks to boost VR Performance in DCS, he gives a good description of how to manage the FPS slider.

Top job, really useful thankyou. -
Its great that we have Pimax in the marketplace to cover different price points and technologies.
-
This should really start with a conversation about the person price point and how much they are prepared to spend on rig and HMD, VR Sim flying can be a very expensive journey.
-
Not sure if you can see the fps but its a steady 90fps this was a 4 ship f16 trip around Nellis. My rig is a 7800x3d 4090, I am only just scratching the surface of what the VR1 is capable of.
-
There are some issues being currently resolved with the Somnium runtime, the next update should resolve them. For now I have been using the Steam runtime to showcase the huge potential of the VR1. The results are very impressive.
-
Yes 90hz and a beautiful image flying alongside a F16. You are in for a real treat. I'll try an grab some images over the next couple of days
-
What version have you ordered and where about are you. Yes I have been in the VR1 sub culture since its was first announced and ordered on the 1st possible day. All I can say is wow what a headset, currently running at 90hz and its looking gorgeous. Anyone thinking about any other headset please please think again, yes this an expensive piece of kit and therefore will not be the right choice for those on a budget, but those of lucky enough it is well worth the money. And we are only just starting to explore its capabilities. I will try and bring some numbers to demonstrate . Again US ordered headsets are due to start being delivered in the new year now that the fcc have finally completed their approval.
-
Early 70's, orders now depend on location and variant. What versions are people looking at and where are you located.
-
Absolutely no problem, we are all here to gather info and help everyone to get the best out the VR1. In my DCS log and also in the one Torge originally provided I see the following, is this the DFR settings ? null
-
Thankyou, I have followed and read most of Mbuccia's work and comments, absolute legend. Personally I do not see any distortion between left and right. In your DCS.log is there any mention of Quadviews being activated when you use those additional layers. I am trying to see in my own logs what impact adding DFR and Quadviews has at the moment. But I am aware of a update to the VR1 OpenXR runtime in incomming.

Guys, do you use Quadview rendering to assist DFR, if so do you actually set the option in the DCS menus to ON. When this is ON does the option appear in the log to confirm it is functioning. I have a having some concerns with how Quadview and DFR are being implemented in the VR1 runtime. You may at least be able to show varjo implements and logs Quadview in the logs Hopefully a planned update to the VR1 update will help clear up our understanding.

I am not sure we will need to use the code developed by mbucchia, the code should be included inside the runtime, what VR1 version do you own ?
-
Hi just received VR1 Titan so very interested in the current state of DCS and the Somnium runtime. Can anyone give answer to this question 'Do we need to toggle Quadview Menu option in DCS'
-
I went for Titan as Ultraleap IR170 is fully embedded and software already part of the VR1 software stack. I have not started looking at using the hand tracking yet. Currently dialling in settings. But I am sure the good word already don in this thread on optimizing will be of benefit.

OK here is the first Graph no sign of the High Frametime I saw prior to Atlas build, the second graph has been filtered to only show frames above 11.2 the only spike I can see is only for 12.30, so its looking so much better than the previous fresh windows builds. Thankyou for suggesting Atlas. All I need now is for the VR1 to arrive so I can really start to play and enjoy DCS again. nullnull

Installing Varjo Base is an interesting option, not sure if Artur would approve lol. But 100% you are correct, this monitor I am using is an old 2560x1440 60hz. I was able to reach 90 fps when using my old G2 and OPENXR Toolkit, so it will be interesting to test out the VR1 and the Somnium Software.
