  1. I would never buy a tempered glass case no matter how stunning it is. My advice is the new Master case 500 series. They are still great to look at and pretty much the best airflow. As for the rest of the configuration I would get the second option. The 8700K uses cheap TIM and you would require a delided or a soldered CPU in order to take advantage of all that dissipation capability. The custom waterloop is not worth it IMHO (also is alot more maintenance intensive)
  2. Its the way of the future my friend. When we got the F-18 people said multifunction displays and computerized controls were the new fad.
  3. The Typhoon is to be retired by 2040.
  4. Granted this is just an early mockup. We are not going to see the final product for 7 years. And if tradition is followed with the usual development drama add 10 more to that :D Fa6X8mGq6Nk Desirable features: -Stealth (doh) -Manned or unmanned missions options -AI powered with swarm tactics -laser weapons -Affordable -Maintainable -available for export -Tailess and canardless delta configuration -Internal weapon bays? (not mentioned) To be developed in cooperation with BAE, MBDA and LEAONARDO. My impressions: This is massively ambitious for the time frame announced (to have the first jet built by 2025 and entering service 10 years after). The airframe looks very small, perhaps the size of a JAS39. I think they will run into alot of trouble and increase the jets size and cost many times over. The uncertainty of BREXIT and France+Germany developing their own will put alot of pressure on the UK's design. I dont think cancellation is an option this time. It will be massively interesting. I wonder how the partnership will look like at the end (remember france pulling out of EFA?). Too bad I will be an old man by the time it comes to fruition. One last observation: Spain wanted to get in for the French/German plane, their request was DENIED.
  5. Need to deactivate each module and copy the code, otherwise you will burn 1activation for each of the modules. It's no big deal, should be done in 2 minutes. Enjoy the new rig :)
  6. Meanwhile in RIAT: vu8N579v75U
  7. TBH I dont know what those news mean (too much sensationalism to filter these days). Might just be a delay, could the due to engine troubles. Ill wait until the specialized press reports whats going on.
  8. Blame Bill & john for that :D (well worth the watch but if you want to skip go to 6:50) sH7TiA58UzQ
  9. Is there an upper core count limit for vulkan? or is this also limited on the side of game developer (for the rendering part, not speaking of the game logic).
  10. Titan V anywhere 25-40% ahead of the 1080Ti, but the biggest potential is Ray tracing. This one is full tensor cores featured which should pay dividends against any card even NVIDIAS own future gaming variants (romured to be delayed again). That said dont expect any games heavy on Ray tracing any time soon.
  11. RGB makes me feel it's Christmas every day :D
  12. I am not fighting. ;) The 8700K is a great gaming CPU. I just chose AMD side in order to get an affordable 8 core and be able to upgrade without a full disassemble or throwing away any of the components. Thats all theres to it. :)
  13. Ryzen 1000 series was more sensitive to the number of memories installed. With 2 it could go up to 3466, but with 4 couldn't go past 3200. Ryzen 2000 has a MUCH BETTER memory controller. The difference between 2 and 4 is 3666 and 3533 respectively (typical values, your mileage will vary, and your skill in overclocking will affect this number too). Some people report better results with 3466 with CL timings of 14, but I couldnt get that, for 3466 I was stuck with CL15, and amazingly 3533 as well, so I kept 3533 (go figure). 3200Mhz should be easily achieved even with 4 sticks on the 2700X, as long both kits are same part number and are SAMSUNG B Die (the 2 kits of 3466 should be SAMSUNG B die 80% sure)
  14. I made the complete build and then during installation of the the OS I chose the drive (NVMe one) for installation. Once in windows you need to go to the drive manager in order to create a partition and format the other one, otherwise it wont show in explorer.
  15. yes, by USB. You may want to start here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
  16. Shame the plane was totaled but that was good belly landing and the pilot walked out from.
  17. Alrighty then, post pics when the time comes!
  18. I found this gem. It's about the Canadian tender in early 1980's that saw the F-18 selection. The speech about the F-18 matches EXACTLY what is being said today about the F-35. Talk about history moving in circles... 4xJBvKJht78
  19. you will need to set the timings manually in UEFI. But theres a few presets in there to make life easy. You should be able to get 3200 with any B die kits.
  20. there are more speeds possible. If you cant find kits from the QVL choose the kits in this list: https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f13/die-ultimative-hardwareluxx-samsung-8gb-b-die-liste-alle-hersteller-27-05-18-a-1161530.html
  21. We are going to fly over crowded cities, Dubai, Las vegas and who knows what other cites on other maps. I kept dreaming of this for decades, ever since I was promised this: Its not a bad thing, you can always turn detail down on your side instead of ED doing it. The era of quad cores is over. We have been asking ED to go multicore for many years, we are getting it (albeit only for rendering purposes for now).
  22. As long as he stays with SAMSUNG B-die kits hes okay, the difference between those in the QVL and those outside of it is that they may not run at spec speeds right out of the box and may require manual configuration in UEFI like mine did. They work great just not at the 4266 rated speed. Heres a suggestion of 32 GB kit B die memory outside the QVL list: F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c14q-32gtzr A comprehensive list of B die memories can be found here: https://www.hardwareluxx.de/community/f13/die-ultimative-hardwareluxx-samsung-8gb-b-die-liste-alle-hersteller-27-05-18-a-1161530.html
  23. Fox, wait...is that memory kit certified for that vendor? be careful man, you might run into issues. That seems to be a dual sided RAM, the best compatible kits are single sided (i.e. 8 GB per stick, not 16), do you have the part number of that 2X16Gb kit? let me check that with the QVL list in the MOBO support page. EDIT: here it is (there are some 2X16 configs listed in there check if yours is one of them). The boards are usually compatible with more part numbers than those in the list but this is a safe way to go: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_CROSSHAIR-VII-HERO/C7H-Memory-QVL-Ryzen-2nd-Generation-Processors.pdf?_ga=2.207113878.442678731.1528625507-476160962.1493509646 You will want sticks made with SAMSUMG B-Die chips. If you cant find a kit from that list, there are others that will work fine (they will as long as they all are SAMSUNG B die) even though they might be running at different speeds. Usually SAMSUNG B dies are memories rated with the lowest timings (for example all kits @ 3200 MHz CL 14 are SAMSUNG's, a few are CL 15 but you need to double check those) Hynix and micron have nothing above 3600 (my kits weren't on the list but I knew they would work as SANSUNG is the only one making chips rated at 4266Mhz)
  24. heres an interesting article about RAM speeds influence on AMD processors performance (On intel also happens albeit much less pronounced). HsQAtsKX3mE
