  1. Left to right - 1 through 4 The nbr 1 engines is near the fire truck closes to the nose in the 2nd photo up top. Dumping a heavy fuel load would take a long time - not a happy situation for an engine fire situation. With a heavy fuel load, hefty cargo load the aircraft would be on the edge of its ability trying to land heavy.
  2. New reports are saying the crew reported a #2 engine fire. Trouble making it back to the Dover AFB runway with an engine shut down is more indicative of have a very heavy fuel load. News story and video on the http://www.foxnews.com website The tail section is a LONG way away from the rest of the aircraft pieces.
  3. Its a javascript link only on the home page and can't be linked.
  4. Do not tear your hair out. Look in the Lock On/Doc folder for the LO FC Quick Start Manual 1.1 It's a .PDF file with a big section on using the Mission Editor:
  5. In the Lock On World the Su-33 does have a fun and interesting A2G ability in the game. An ocean only map where half it's ability can't be exercised doesn't advance the state of the game in my opinion. Misson Creep. DPS wants an ocean only map. GG wants submarines to protect. I want at least some more A2G options. If ED lets it be known they're thinking about DPS's map request a lot more people are going to want something added/changed/tweaked. I said nothing of the sort. I said there wasnt any place on DPS's map to exercise the Su-33s A2G capability. If it's in the game - and increases the games "fun factor" - lets use it. Im not as concerned with any "IRL" issues. Yeah, Really!
  6. What "waste of resources"? Making a new GUI option for a map that supports 1 aircraft type (Sorry; one-half aircraft = A2A only). So GG doesnt want any "submarines to protect" besides a non-submerging / non-attacking Kilo after all? No tweaks to the naval AIs? Or ASW mission for the Ka-27s? Hmmmmm... no Nato subs in the Atlantic? How Uber-Realistic is that? Maybe A2G for the -33 is wishful thinking. But so is the idea that the Kuz could traverse south of the Barents/Greenland/Norwegian Seas in any type of belligerent role. After all the hard work by ED on Flaming Cliffs & Black Shark and now you want them to build a map that doesnt support those 2 upgrades? I'm sorry but I hope ED looks takes a pass on a Su-33 only map and looks elsewhere to enhance the FC/BS experiance. Thats my opinion.
  7. I just dont see the need to add a ocean only map 2000 NM from the Lock On theater of operations. Not even any Littoral areas to exercise Su-33s A2G capability in that suggested region. Sorry - I'd just as soon ED not waste any resources with that type of limited map.
  8. DPS; You sure you got your Geo-Coordinates right? A region bounded by 15 deg - 40 deg West and 45 deg - 60 deg North would be ideal.
  9. Look in the Lock On\Config\network folder for the config.lua file. Most 1.02 missions fly OK in ver 1.12a. Your joining clients should be able to text chat (cntrl+M) with you while at the Coalition/Payload screen. If they can't do that you may have a hidden firewall or router issue.
  10. It's probably too early to panic. Did anyone notice that the screenshot posted in the article shamandgg linked showed only 400K used by 47 processes? Look at the Handles/Threads/Processes summary: 13445+562+47 All that in 400K. Even without knowing what those 47 processes are it seems Vista isn't any more of a RAM hog than XP. And if you do need a little extra RAM now and then you can always plug in a 1GB (or 2 or 4GB) USB Flash drive. Vista can use USB flash drives as EMDs to augment system RAM. And it will be able to make use of Hybrid hard drives when they start showing up. I have no problems getting games to run on my NTFS partioned hard drives. I can even run JetFighter ver 1.0 and other DOS games (using DosBox) on my NTFS PC.
  11. Why not host your games in BOTH Ubi.com and Hyperlobby at the same time? Try LockOn Launcher by JetFire: Read more here: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=14335
  12. Thanks Chizh! I agree with AndyHill. Nice little teaser detail ....:icon_jook You'd never get THAT kind of info in a screenshot.
  13. Then you REALLY should be using the Activation Store Utility available on the Download section of this website. My experiance is similar to dynamocl. I have 3 copies of FC (2 download and 1 CD) on 3 PCs and have only used 1 re-activation (hardware upgrade on 1 PC).
  14. The CD included the seasons pack. The web download was broken up into 2 parts just to have smaller download sessions. All you need to be fully up-to-date is download the free 1.12a patch. (ps; there is an edit option to delete your duplicate post)
  15. Nice find! It's been a minor annoyance but your fix works great. ( For those with text editors that have line numbers the change is on line 3686 of the MeInit.xml file. I use the Araneae editor - freeware available at http://www.ornj.net/software/araneae/ )
  16. First of all I'd like to say I think I'm about the most neutral person posting in this thread so far. I rarely fly @ Ubi or Hyperlobby. Most of my MP experiance is LAN or Direct-IP and Im strictly an air-to-mud type. I think we all agree we should support the Lock On community. But also remember that also includes the people flying at Ubi.com, the Lock On owners that fly only single player, and the future Lock On flyers who havent shown up online or in the forums yet. Secondly I'll say I think my support to the Lock On community measures up well against any other single individual or even squadron. Browse the LockOn Community Help forum for the past 2+ years for examples. I've even stuck up for Hyperlobby back when people were saying it was a trojan program and opened ports through the firewall (ala Galen Thurber hysteria) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/38610606/m/21510347/ This will probably be my last post in this thread considering the direction its going. Pretty sad when a group of Lock On guys can't keep a civil discussion going on a fairly important topic, isnt it? 169th_Fudd - the idea is GOOD. But spend more time planning and then implementing the plan about what you're actually going to do with those people when they start showing up here. As things are right now I think a lot will show up, look around, give a shrug and go away as so many others have. Thats my opinion. Prophet_169th - if the Hyperlobby community is such a fun and friendly place to be - where the heck is everyone? You guys can't point fingers at Hawg or I and say its our fault your servers are empty most of the time. It takes no extra money at all to setup some practice servers for the new people / casual players. Whats the point of you guys paying big bucks for the dedicated servers and them being empty more than half the time? Get the big squads together and coordinate one of the dedicated servers to be a practice mission when its not being otherwise engaged. PS: Prophet_169th Ubisoft is a Corportion not a community. Chat was disabled in all Ubi game lobbies due to problems in other games, not Lock On. The deal with UbiSoft is OLD news - get over that and get on with supporting, as you say, the community.
  17. The lobby software may be friendly but the HL community could do a LOT more to foster a friendly, fun Lock On experiance especially for new pilots and even the occasional online players. Dropping a new pilot into an ace level server is a fast and easy way to loose that new pilot. No 1.02 games up in HL at the moment but I have seen the one server up lately and a few 1.02 pick up games even. And 3 empty ACE level 1.12 servers. Why are so few of the people who pass through Ubi.com to Hyperlobby no longer flying @ HL?
  18. What about passing that type of information in Community forums? This is a sticky in the other forum. Any one want to speculate what happens when Black Shark gets released? Are we going to see the 1.12 users ending up at Ubi.com because no one is hosting Flaming Cliffs servers here? Or are you going to come up with a way to make HL friendly to ALL versions of LockOn, along with all skill levels of LockOn fliers?
  19. I was just about to post a BUG report about what seemed to be a Radar glitch similar to the TEWS/RWR phantom signal. I had been out doing Su-25T SEAD missions and was hitting some BUK sites. A few times I'd see a radar site "pop-up again" after I thought I has killed the search radar. So I went back and looked at the situation more carefully: Inbound to the attack point - 2 search radars picked up by Fantasmagoria Just after SAM launch warning - 3 radars now picked up by Fantasmagoria !! It took a while but I finally figured out that in 1.12 you'll see the BUK Launchers own Tracking radar showing up on Fantasmagoria after a launch. Very nice touch ED!! ^5
  20. Ubi is mostly people that have 1.02 and include some people that formerly flew 1.02 in Hyperlobby. Why is it difficult to understand that someone like Hawg11 is flying his 1.02 @ Ubi.com? He'd be stupid to try and fly 1.02 @ HL dont you think? At least till you guys figure out how to get more 1.02 action going on HL. Telling a new 1.02 owner the ONLY way to fly online is buy the Flaming Cliffs upgrade and go to Hyperlobby to fly is just wrong because its not true. But on the other hand you can SAY Flaming Cliffs and Hyperlobby are the BEST way to fly online because thats true. Let them get hooked on 1.02 and WANT to upgrade - but DONT push, shove and cajole them into something they're not sure they want. Is Hyperlobby vastly superior? Yes it is - but what difference does that make if you can find anyone that flies your version of Lock On? While you're discussing how to beef up the flying community at Hyperlobby its probably a good idea to discuss how to KEEP them here after you get them to show up. Hyperlobby hasn't managed to keep the majority of people that have come here to fly Lock On coming back. Why is that? It does NO GOOD to entice a 1.02 player over from Ubi.com if you cant keep him coming back. At this time HL is not a great place for a new flyer to jump into and have a good time. How do you keep the casual LockOn flyers coming back to HL? Maybe a VETERAN Skill dedicated server or two (instead of several empty ACE skill servers)? That should be the first issue you tackle. Hyperlobby, Ubi.com, direct-IP, LAN or single player. The idea is build the community, support ED and let everyone have fun. PS to S77th-konkussion: 59 @ Hyperlobby 38 @ Ubi.com as of this post Or another way of looking at it 37 1.02 flyers @ Ubi, 4 1.02 flyers at HL and 1 empty dedicated 1.02 server.
  21. While I didnt have the intermittent loss of rudder control problem with my Saitek X-45 I did see the 2nd .ini profile as shown here:
