ironhard replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Whatever airquake, thanks for the AC spotting fix! -
Current or upcoming best VR headset for DCS
ironhard replied to PKP_Cooler's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'd rather see wireless optimizations if I am ever to buy a standalone headset. -
Sorry asking this, may be a stupid question, but are those BSOD actual Windows BSODs?

Why not the Caucasus with the new lighting model
ironhard replied to Hotdognz's topic in DCS: Caucasus
I really like that map. Would definitely pay for it. -
Why not the Caucasus with the new lighting model

Will it eventually be "updated" to the new tech, perhaps as a DLC? -
Regading its wifi capability, I read somewhere about Intel DCT compatibility with the Quest, specifically the article mentioned the AX1690 laptop wifi chip and its low latency (<5ms) single hop routing capability. How about normal wifi chips we find on normal motherboards? Can you connect them directly to the Quest for single hop routing?

I'm considering a Quest Pro. What do you owners think, wait for Quest 3, or bite the price for a Quest Pro now? I'd be running on 5800X3D and RTX3080.

It's a simulator. You can put whatever you want. The only limit are the purists.

That's so not true and makes no sense at all. How can one or the other be any more accurate if they were both available in 2007? Even if one, or the other had been used more than the other, it doesn't make it any more accurate, at all. Sure, you'd probably find one or the other more times at either block aircrafts, but its has absolutely nothing to do with accuracy. Perhaps I misunderstood you and I truly hope so.

Sounds reasonable. I wouldn't mind getting a TFR as well.

Next update the 12th April, so I think it's safe to assume it won't pop-up until then.

Wow! The year of the Strike Eagle! /s

The fact that they created all this hype for a pre-sale and didn't even care to provide release date, was pretty the lowest my excitement for the F-15E has ever been, it's completely faded as well.
-
How do you know? Unless you know something that the rest of us don't, an insider, it's still all in the realm of especulation, regardless of how likely it is that MT is in, or not.
-
Possibly because it's not there. They never said it was. The hype started when they delayed the patch to March 1st, but not a word of confirmation has been given. It might even be there, but don't be surprised if it's not. Better to lower your expectations.
-
It's also very silent at their discord. No progress news and their gatekeeping grunts usually get quite hotheaded when you ask for news or a release date. They even seem to have an internal joke that goes like "days since last release date request = 0" or something like that. In my POV, there is not much apparent progress going on there. Something really bad certainly happened to this project early last year that completely stalled it.

How much RAM can DCS use with 64GB under Win11? I'm contemplating an upgrade from 32gb, but reluctant to upgrade because last gen tech.
-
Not wanting to discourage you, but in parellel, I don't think I had ever seen the F-14 been discounted that much, ever. Maybe in another 2 years...?
-
Sorry asking, but what exactly is the issue?
-
Exactly that.
-
F-117A, oh yes!

We Want To Hear Your Ideas For A New Map In DCS!

Oh, ok, so you don't know, you're just repeating. -
7800X3D, 7900X3D, 7950X3D..
ironhard replied to EightyDuce's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That's the thing about it. The CL value is not an absolute number. It's comparing apples and oranges. RL = CL *2000 / DR Where: RL = Real latency in nanoseconds DR = Data rate in Mhz So, for a 3000Mhz CL16 vs 6000Mhz CL30: 3000Mhz CL16 = 10.66667 nanoseconds 6000Mhz CL30 = 10 nanoseconds https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/blogs/memory-latency-en
