  1. Is it just the pinky switch and one button on the throttle that aren't working? I seem to recall that these need enabling, or told to act as regular buttons, somewhere in the joystick properties.
  2. One of the easiest ways to trim is to hold the button down before you change attitude/direction, then let go of the button after your turn. Do you have a Force FeedBack joystick?
  3. We know the updater works and yes these are isolated cases, relating to various anti virus software (I hear Malwarebytes causes this too) but I hardly think having AV installed is "over protecting" yourself. Personally I don't "keep having frustrating issues" caused by AV software.
  4. Snacko, we don't know for sure that it's the fault of BitDefender but it appears to be a common link. I had to reboot too and did restore previous version but then I just ran the updater again (didn't disable BitDefender) and it ran perfectly. Go figure.
  5. Are you running BitDefender anti virus software?
  6. Before seeing this error did you try the updater and it started to run, then froze? It certainly seems like BitDefender is something we all have in common.
  7. Just backing up what outlaw is saying, updater hangs and appears to cause update/repair programs to become corrupted. I too have BitDefender but it doesn't flag a virus or intrusion, or log that anything went wrong at all. After rebooting, then restoring previous version of bin folder from backup, I ran updater and it worked fine; didn't need to quit BitDefender at all.
  8. I've not seen anyone blaming the developers, and I wouldn't exactly say that anti virus software "controls" your computer, or makes it unusable.
  9.
  10. My updater wouldn't update either, it was just hanging until I rebooted. This must have corrupted the updater/repair programs because I got the same error message about "program not compatible... etc". I restored my entire "bin" folder to a previous version (Sunday backup), disabled uTorrent and Steam (in case they were downloading) and tried the updater again and it worked. For the record, I also have Bitdefender installed.
  11. It's okay, I was only joking. Not sure about the other guy...
  12. Let's not overlook the "Game" mode. Rather than suggesting the OP look elsewhere, which seems kinda rude, why not suggest this? EventHorizon, stick with it and you'll soon pick up the basics. If not, give "Game" mode a go; that'll get you airborne and shooting stuff in no time! :)
  13. Not updating to 1.2.7 until this is fixed...:)
  14. I'm not sure why people need a "TrackIR centre" button on their joystick. I centre once on startup and that's it, I don't shift around so much while playing that I need to recentre; sometimes I can even leave my chair, come back and still be pretty much centred!. I don't use pause or precision either. For the record, I have centre mapped to Caps Lock; no game uses Caps Lock! :)
  15. With the increasing number of DCS aircraft available, as well as various other flight sims, I decided to make myself a template that could be used to show all of the keyboard mappings, for each of the buttons/dials on the Saitek X52 Pro. (It's me age see, having a hard time remembering what's what, when I move from one sim to the next :) ). The idea was to print a bunch of these and simply write in the keys/commands that I've got mapped for each of the aircraft. It's a bit rough and ready, and not very polished but it does the trick. I thought I'd share it with you guys, and hope that it helps fellow X52 users out there :joystick:. (Comments and suggestions are welcome, but may be ignored...). Enjoy. Edit: I should point out that the grey cells are for mapping the modified state, when the pinky switch is held down. Edit 2: Template updated to include missing button.
  16. Just wanted to echo these sentiments. Played a little BF3, haven't even bought BF4.
  17. The point really is to have them both installed, for comparison purposes. Edit: not sure why it was taking 12 minutes to load, that's not right at all! Even 2 minutes seems a bit much.
  18. Do you trim after you have completed the turn?
  19. Oculus is already obsolete? Um, no, no it isn't.
  20. What is this "soft button stuck" issue, and how come you can't use SST any more?
  21. Although the modules themselves aren't as big as the standalone, about 1gig for the A-10C.
  22. I hear that. I went upstairs to play Dishonoured; would rather have taken the Shark for a spin though :)
  23. Shame, missed out on this one. Will look out for the next!
  24. And this is why I hate computers! :) Glad you got it sorted.
