  1. Not going to make tonight's training but thanks for running these and opening them up to non members; found last weeks to be most useful and interesting. Thanks Reaper6.
  2. I'd like to join the European training session tomorrow, can't put my name down on Google Docs yet though as on phone. Thanks for setting this up. Edit: added name to list.
  3. There sure was: I loved this game but look at what we have now :) Edit: sorry for the off topic nostalgia trip guys!
  4. My mate and I used to play F/A-18 on his Amiga, taking turns, and that wireframe splitscreen "simulator" wasn't Skychase by any chance? We'd play that on my Atari ST!
  5. Don't be, I've always overlooked them and never really experimented with them on the TrackIR axes. I believe you configure them separately for each aircraft too, which is good if the FC3 view is okay (I'll have to see if this is the same for me). Hopefully a bit of trial and error and we should both eliminate the shaky view
  6. In DCS settings, axis commands, select TrackIR yaw view, tune axis, the saturation settings are on the right, with deadzone and curves.
  7. Okay, I'm getting somewhere. Seeing as our other titles are okay, it must be something within DCS, so I started messing again with the view axis tuning. You can see the input value clearly jittering on this screen, and for me it affects the view yaw more than pitch or z translation. I've found that turning the "Saturation Y" down to 40, for this axis, has really reduced the shaking. Within TrackIR I previously had to turn the "Speed" setting down, to try and reduce the jitter but I've now put this back at 1 and left "Smooth" at 50. Give this a go and let me know how you get on. I shall experiment further...
  8. Really? Now that would be cool (excuse the pun).
  9. I have this problem too. It's weird because the same settings in other games (RoF, BoS, ArmA) are super stable whereas in DCS the view seems to jitter. I've always just put up with it.
  10. I think it means continue anyway. To be honest, after everything I've heard about how much hassle the upgrade is, i suggest picking up BS2 in one of the sales.
  11. Yeah, this is one thing i really wish they'd fix but then, I'd rather have a working game (or shiny new DCS 2.0) than a working replay.
  12. This. No seriously, take my money. I don't even care how much it costs.
  13. He means relative to where he's looking. So if he looks left, view looks left but then if he moves his head forward (toward monitor), the view moves towards the left wing and not towards the front of the cockpit. Edit: TrackIR does this with TrueView (or whatever they call it).
  14. I was on VA server recently and had this happen too. Pretty sure it's not the gfx card then.
  15. You say "easily fixable", so what caused this random crash? Exactly; not so easy. I don't know where the logs are either (I'm sure someone will be along to tell us) but I'd certainly start there and send them to ED, otherwise it's needle in a haystack time. Try here for a rudimentary bugs list and to report future crashes: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=185
  16. That's what made me think of the UAC thing. Maybe the updater is getting the incorrect filepath from somewhere (registry? might want to search your registry for DCS/Eagle Dynamics entries).
  17. I don't suppose you're running Win7 32-bit?
  18. I only ask because I've had a program (not DCS) screw up on me before because I changed the UAC setting after installing it (file paths became a bit confused); I solved the problem by switching it back.
  19. They'll announce it in the newsletter...
  20. Are you running Windows 7? Have you turned on/off User Account Control since the first time you installed DCS World?
  21. Checked out your screenshots; 'tis but a scratch! :)
  22. I'm with you on this one. Wait a couple of seconds, reset zoom. Done.
  23. Nice one! You keep at it, if you're doing what you want to do. Excited for ya!
  24. What about the MFCDs in your cockpit, are they blank too or just the CDU?
