  1. The INS system is still WIP. There's no alignment or coordinate input functionality so I'd expect we'll see this in future updates.
  2. Thanks Dangerman for all that info. It seems that since the CCIP cross gives accurate results with other munitions (however Razbam is calculating that slant ranging) that it's most likely an issue with the game's Mk-20 and not the modeling of the av-8 and thus something ED will need to address at some point. I want to say I have read Razbam talking about all these CCIP calculations somewhere in a development thread too. Good to know! For now it's Kentucky windage for me ...
  3. Anybody know if the behavior of having to aim ahead of a stationary target with the rockeye in CCIP is accurate to the real weapon? 2nd question, are there any specific techniques for gauging the correct aim off distance?
  4. They aren't implemented by RAZBAM yet. Only the IR mavs (D & G) are functional atm.
  5. That did it, thanks. I could have sworn I already did that, but I guess not. Clear skies ~
  6. I've had the same issue with the red pinky button on the throttle.
  7. Just throwing it out there to M3 as a datapoint: I'm not interested in this but I also don't see why people are bashing you so much. The one exception is the teasers and hype train and such. You have to know that the community at large doesn't overwhelmingly love the idea of more trainers in the sim, so choosing to hype the release of the first completely non-combat related plane in DCS was...an odd choice IMO. Your marketing is your business and I wish you the best of luck but personally I didn't really appreciate the manufactured buildup. That said I hope you're not taking all the animosity too seriously because I'm amazed at how horrible some people are being to you guys. Clear skies ~
  8. I'm using UM-80's for my mfd exports but the contrast is lower than what is rendered on the in game MFDs. I can't adjust anything on the UM-80s themselves, but is there a way I could get around this by maybe increasing the mfd contrast in the lua files or something? Or is there nothing I can do because I'll always be limited by the physical properties of the UM-80s? Any help is appreciated ~
  9. Looks like the acp quantity 1s up and down are controlling the interval 1s instead.
  10. For anyone interested in this thread, Belsimtek has responded: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195293 Basically, all bugs that they know about are not going to be addressed until they are done with their part of the F-18C module. Don't expect anything soon...

  12. I play almost exclusively MP and use Universe Radio so the mic switch is maxed out as well. I use modifiers...see above if interested. Thanks for the videos bud. I love seeing it in action.
  13. No I don't think so.
  14. No I could never get Target to work properly back in the day...that ship has sailed for me...I hate that software. In the controls section on the bottom there's a "modifiers" tab. If you go in there you can assign a modifier key to whatever you want. So for example my modifier key is the paddle on the stick. That means that if I hold down the paddle and press a button it does something different than if I had pressed just the button by itself. I've got: zoom in slow = paddle + dms up zoom out slow = paddle + dms dn zoom reset = paddle + dms right I have this setup for every single airframe. Works great for me and frees up the slider access for more important things.
  15. WH and going to use the slider for nozzles. I'd recommend using something else for zoom for just such a reason as you're running into here. Almost every plane can benefit from using that slider for something else and having to take your hands off the throttle just to zoom is a hindrance. Personally I have zoom mapped to my stick by means of using the paddle as a modifier so I never have to release control in the heat of battle. My 2 cents...
  16. I've never had a problem with them because of rearming or anything like that. It's what Nero.ger said. I'm just adding my 2 cents to clarify that he's talking about the close combat modes of the radar, dogfight missile / dogfight gun (DM/DG), not the hud mode selector. It's good practice to hit your keybind for Resume Search ( i think that's what it's called in the controls page ) whenever you are about to do A-G stuff. A while back the jet would sometimes start in one of the DM/DG modes and since there's no way to tell if you're in that it was causing lots of confusion. I think they fixed that though...
  17. It's wrong and I think has been conclusively shown in threads already. Here's an example of f-5 strafing runs. Compare this to in game tests and it's painfully obvious the gun dispersion in DCS is too great.
  18. Great idea and I'm sure if you create a compelling one many would purchase it. There is one campaign already though. It's called "The Museum Relic" and is available for purchase from the ED store. You can fly it as a F-86 or a Mig-15.
  19. Forgot to check on this thread. Here are a few. It's more egregious on some aircraft than others and right now the new WIP lighting system is making it worse, but it's always been there and for the reasons stated above are unnecessary and unwanted IMO. As you can see they are simply texture overlays that do not move regardless of perspective therefore you can't move your head around to get the best view of your eye's focus. All the FC3 aircraft I think...I only really spend time in the 25A/T but the ideology behind having these texture overlays in place, I presume, is the same for all them. This isn't an issue in most modules, but the KA-50 also has a horrendous "HUD glow" going on regardless on intensity setting. This doesn't exist. If you mean "lens effects," then no it doesn't change this at all. "Global cockpit lighting" as well does nothing.
  20. Also, the MER won't let you drop the 4 bombs simultaneously. Each 4 pack has it's own "mini ripple".
  21. These are supposed to increase immersion, but now with 6dof cockpits it's very annoying. No matter what direction you look at the hud, in any light condition, and now especially with the new lighting system you get the same overlay texture that impedes your visibility. We are already handicapped in many ways just by way of this being a simulation on a 2d screen so "baking in" more handicaps increases frustration instead of immersion. My preference to remedy this would be: 1. Get rid of them completely 2. Add an option to disable them. 3. Make them actual reflections meaning they're only there under the right circumstances (probably increasing cpu/gpu workload). Thanks for your consideration ~
  22. Never has and likely never will unfortunately. :(
  23. Wasn't it classified as a night fighter? I understand your point that it won't be super effective but I thought that was a selling point. Also, it is a light attack aircraft and a dark hud is a dumb idea for that role. And I've never seen a piece of glass that dark on any of the different hud systems I have any rl experience with. You might be right but I'd need some evidence to believe it. It would be much more likely to have a dimmer shade or something if it was needed I'd think. Not to mention that it's a terrible idea for any plane for simply flying at night in a non-combat role like a normal cross country flight or pattern work or anything. I'm guessing that the change is in some way preparation for the upcoming lighting changes in the game engine, but who knows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLZWNNlwS80
  24. Problem is that with a shotgun all the shot gets to the same point at basically the same time. This isn't the case with the tiger. So while it may look like a shotgun from your perspective in the cockpit it's in reality nothing like it. I think someone's already proven that by the books the dispersion should be around 8 mils and currently it's more like 40. This is a huge problem and pisses me off every time I get in the f-5. I love this jet and the gun really bums me out. If you have to get so close that you risk flying through the debris of your opponent something's wrong. I hope it gets fixed soon.
