  1. While I was on a test range this weekend for work I came across a MiG-23. It appears I found "Red 44". I don't know the history of this MiG yet but it was brought here to San clemente island off the coast of California and was used as a target. I hear helicopters would use it to target and shoot. Eventually it was moved from the coast line and ended up here. Here are my pictures that I took of this old MiG-23. **Notice the wood in the wing**
  2. I have close up shot's of that plane from this weekend. :D
  3. So what do you think? What did I find here?
  4. Middle section. (Control room)
  5. So I took a trip to a test range this weekend for work and while I was there I came across this pair of old Russian radar guided missile launchers. Can anyone here tell me more about them? I thought it was way too cool and I had to climb all over it getting as many pictures as I could. :D Maybe I'm wrong and it's just an overly complex garbage truck. :D At the front there is a cab for one driver and a rear passenger. In the middle is a control station for three operators. And in the rear appears to be a pair of launchers for two missiles. Here are a few pictures I took of this awesome truck.
  6. Notice here in the DSM page he has selected both stations with the M151 rockets Then notice he selects the "PROF" page (Profile) and selected the release mode as "RIP PRS" (Ripple pairs) Then below that he has select to fire 2 rockets each time it fires You can watch him go though the setup at the 32 second mark of the video.
  7. The AN/APS-13 rear warning radar is a lightweight radar set that provides a cockpit warning when an aircraft is approaching from the rear. When flying at low altitudes, the warning radar may sound an alarm due to signal reflections from the ground.
  8. When winter weather is loaded and the temperature is set to -34C, the engine startup is very slow after the start button is pressed and the "Start VLV" light comes on. Is cold, thick oil modeled here at this temp causing the very slow spool up speed? I have noticed if an auto start is used, the start procedure is so long the auto start procedure will try to start the right engine while the left engine is still trying to spool up causing the right engine to not start. (I was unable to manually start the right engine after this) If the temperature is set to -35C or colder, the engines will not start at all (Either manual start or auto start). Is a no start at this temperature normal? Thanks :book:

  10. Page 76 of the P-51D flight manual: "ROCKET DELAY SWITCH. The Rocket Delay switch is used to set the fuse mode for rockets. When set to DELAY, the rocket detonates a moment after impact. When set to INST, detonation is instantaneous upon impact."
  11. 1. Version 2.0 is already released currently as an open ALPHA. Download here. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/alpha/ 2. Correct. All are currently work in progress with no official release date. 3. Multiplayer has had a lot of improvements and I find it very stable. No crashes like I use to get with the older versions. There are two servers that I can think of for WW2 flights. "Dogs of war" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123074 and "Burning Skies" http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130161 4. New maps a currently work in progress with no official release dates. 5. It's not my favorite but I really like the F-86 and would recommend it. To me it's fast, smooth, easy and fun to fly.
  12. You are comparing a MiG-21 wing to a SU-27 wing...
  13. The propeller RPM is controlled by the Propeller Control lever on the throttle quadrant in the cockpit. The propeller governor automatically controls propeller pitch to maintain a constant speed between 1800 and 3000 RPM.
  14. It should drop a maximum of 100 RPM when the right magneto is cut and drop a maximum of 130 RPM when the left magneto is cut from 2300 RPM. Not drop to 100 RPM. So if you run up to 2300 RPM and cut the left mag, the RPM should drop to 2170 RPM. If you run up to 2300 RPM and cut the Right mag, the RPM should drop to 2200 RPM. So not very much drop at all. You can see exactly that in the video.
  15. Vitor, Check out this video of the procedure at 17:14 mark. The RPM drop is very small because the propeller governor automatically controls propeller pitch to maintain a constant speed [ame] [/ame]
  16. How do you feel about the F-4U Corsair instead :D
  17. As a tutorial, I would hate to see my instructor make some of those landings and be as uncontrolled after landing... (9:45 / 11:00) Or see that bad line up to the far left at 14:30 followed by a stall off the runway.

  19. Doesn't it say 1.5 will be updated and 1.2 will no longer be updated and supported.... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2614988&postcount=9
  20. At the end of December 2015, we plan to move Ver. 1.5 out of Open Beta and make it the new released (stable) version. At that time, Ver. 1.2 will no longer be updated and supported. :book: You can download 1.5 here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...ads/world/1.5/
