Yeah something is up because I can't stay online for anything. I get a crash randomly every time now at some point. Edit: I deleted all of my mods and did another repair, this time I was able to send a few hours online with no issues. Aside from some skin mods, I found I still had "DCS World - Better Fire, Smoke explosion mod" installed. I wonder if this mod has a problem running in the current version software.

Recently I have been flying more online and I have been getting a lot of crashes. "DCS has stopped working" and closes or I just get kicked out of the server. I have been flying with the previous version software of 1.2.14 but just updated to the latest version today (1.2.14.36041). I flew two flights online tonight that both ended with crashes. Not my plane :D From what I can recall, single player is fine, I only see the crashes during online flights. I have done the repair & update. I have a few mods, mostly skins. Logs attached.

I use FRAPs for video recording but find it makes very large files while recording at 60FPS or even 30FPS. For example ten minutes of 30FPS video recording produced 10G of files.... This makes it rather hard to upload to YouTube when I do a 30+ minute video. Normally I take the raw FRAPs video files and edit them into Corel video studio. I still want to be able to upload HD quality videos but is there a way around the giant video file sizes without loosing the video quality?

I believe the manual means you can repair the stress level by either: 1) Shutting down the engine and just wait 4 minutes (240 seconds). Or 2) Contact ground and request a repair. #2 requires the engine to be shut down as well in order to work. Ground crew will acknowledge the request but the repair will not start until RPM reads zero. The repair takes 2.8 minutes (170 seconds)

Correct. From the manual: "Note: Whenever you fly, your aircraft resources will be slowly consumed (fluids, working resources, stress applied etc). Once you land and require refueling, the systems will “self repair” after the refueling is done." "Note: Internal systems “self repair” is coupled with refueling. However, to make repairs of damaged hardware (fuselage, wings, tail, gears) you need to call the ground crew and ask for repairs. The same applies for rearming." "Your engine will reset stress level to zero, once you land and shut it down. This will happen along with aircraft systems self repair event. You don’t need to do anything apart from being patient for max. 4 minutes."

Can you please tell me if the Air Bleed doors 1.5 mach test button and the aileron booster test button are modeled? If so, how are they used? Also I cannot find any info in the flight manual about the type 81 IFF transponder switch. How is it different than the SOD switch? Thank you.

I have been out of the loop as far as skins go for the MiG but are we able to make new skins yet or are we still waiting for templates?

A mission reset is not required. You can simply refuel and the systems will self repair.

I would start by looking at the key commands in the options menu to see if possibly the canopy command is also tied to another switch or axis.

For me I couldn't care less where the next map is... I am just glad after all my years of flying sims, we are finally at a point where we have extremely detailed aircraft to fly. And to make it even better, we don't have corporate jets or airliners but iconic WW2 fighter planes with fully modeled systems, huge props, massive horsepower and machine guns! This is truly a great time for flight sims & it only gets better from here. Thank you ED and 3rd party developers for this :D
