TBH, i think those who developp this sim should have more recognition. I mean, the community is always there to quick-draw and point out things that need to be fix, updated or whatever. Is DCS perfect ? Nope, but as you said it improve quite well over the years. I personnally feel that the weather is the "biggest leap forward" DCS need, followed by AI driven ground ops (Dynamic Cam.). Great news is that both are worked on' :)

It havent yet, but will soon (soon in the military is between "in two weeks nor in two decade"). So i guess the official answer is "no it wont". No SDB neither, so i guess wont we have the latest Suite, will buy and fly it anyway...

IIRC NASA did developp a program that allow pilots to steer the plane with only engines, never went into full service tought. So i guess you're using the same logics.

So with the new module incoming we will got a new escort ship, is it in the plan to give it some sort of "2D SAM interface" ? I Mean, got the capacity to control the weaponry other than "assigning target" in F10 would be quite great ! :D

Simply put, no. More detailed answer : classified specifications of sensitive systems. Same apply for any Gen 4.5/5 aircrafts.

Like you, i share that love for those 4.5+ fighters. Eurofighter, Superhornet and the Rafale would be great for DCS. But here the reality check : those plane contain highly sensitive tech (radar, spectra, ew, etc) that ED wont be given data access to. Let's not even talk about Airbus/Boeing/Dassault granting them licences for those. Would they be awesome ? Hell yeah. Will we have them ingame ? Hell no. On another hand, i assess as highly likely that ED do some flight sim for some air forces around the world, but those contract most likely are shroud into secrecy if not under "national security" stamp.

Without over or under estimate any ASM nor CM, you need to keep in mind that the way to use Harpoon against SAG is not about "sniping" one ship with a single missile, but to overwelm the group with sh.tloads of ordnance. USS Mason (Arleigh Burk Class) stop 9 C802 missiles with SM2, ESSM and chaffs in october 2016. Plus the fact that we dont have AG Radar yet (providing range, bearing and stuff), using 1 or 2 harpoons is kinda uselss against high-end ship :(

No, M2A2 / M2A3 are not amphibious, the armor upgrade remove that capability.

Mate, they start talking about F/A-18C in 2010, we saw screen shot of cockpit and AG radar in 2015 and we get the thing in 2018 strip of almost any advance system. I dont blame them, it just seems like this plane is uber-stupidly-complex

I know in BoL you dont need radar contact, but i see 2 issue: -Unable to detect target at all, not a game braker just a "meh" factor. -Rely on "hope" that missile chose the specific ship you want to engage, another "meh". You can't attack an surface combattant group alone, that's for sure. But if you can't aim or assign missile to anything and hope, chance's are that we end up with 8 missiles striking the same ship. So that why i ask if it plan soon / with it.

Well, as noobish as it sounds, seems like i learnt a forum rules. :book: So, basicly, we all see that Harpoon build in the last Mini-Updates, plus some symbology into HSI. Question here, since SEA mode show contact like it show air to air contact, without any rendering (wich i guess is what is most likely the hardest thing to acheive) on the Radar screen, will we have having some sort of "basic placeholder" in a sea mode or will it come further down the road ? :music_whistling:

ED spring release of F18 was May 30th, so i'd expect it around november:thumbup:

An educated-guess is fair enought. I know that the real specs are classified, but you can still create a pretty "closely accurate" thing with open-source intelligence. And as Boeing agreed with ED for the F/A-18C hornet module, i'm quite sure that ED could also reach an agreement with them on F/A-18E. But first and foremost, we need a complet F/A-18C module prior to any endeavour on the Super Bug. :smilewink:

May be not a 1:1 ratio, but you can know who bought what and when and if they have ever used bonus. So just something to bring over that amount of never been able to use points. The fact is that the current system didnot allow you to spend them all, neither the release rate of modules is. This is not ED or any third parties fault, complete module take times to complete. Its just that expiration date kinda make no sens to me, if the old bring 20% and the new 10%, then cut in half what we got and transfert it.
