  1. This is can of worms I think, but I'll add my opinion. I think anyone can make a website of their own (and people do) and they can setup donation button if they want. I think it's not alright for people to setup equivalent here, on ED's forums. People can have links to their website, but not a direct link for donations.
  2. Fair enough :megalol: PS: I just noticed Belgrade and Zagreb are also "misspelled" :D
  3. Its Bosnia and Herzegovina ;) And yes, I would like this map :)
  4. Cougar should work with 8 axis (there are 10 but only 8 can be used at one given time). You could try flushing the firmware. This is how I have mine setup (8 axis are enabled but as I use separate rudder pedals I am not using the rudder axis (and toe brakes axis are disabled)
  5. I don't have any instructions for the throttle hall sensor mod and I don't know if there is anything similar (or better) to replace the mini stick. Years back I bought a replacement for the mini stick (original part) to keep as spare in case it goes bad and that's about it. Sorry I can't help further. I can't even remember now if this is still in my throttle, but I think it is, and throttle axis is still working great. What you can do is look for some small but strong magnets (orient them north to south), get yourself a hall sensor (that works on same voltage) and connect it to the wires coming out of throttle pot connector (make them long-ish so you have place to work with) and just experiment with it (see if once cougar is restarted, it'll pick up throttle axis properly. As far as I remember the outer 2 connectors on the sensor are + and - and inner one is signal (you can also see which wire is connected in the image in my 2nd post). The hall sensor should have wiring diagram and you can look up Cougar pots wiring diagram. It's not too complicated. Once you get it working and see what distance you need to keep magnet at (should be fairly close) and axis is working in good range, super-glue it to the throttle as in my pic.

    Leopard 1 1/6

    Far out :shocking: Respect :notworthy:
  7. I also wonder why you bring Su-27 into this discussion? It had nothing to do with your real life stats from the Gulf War, or has it ever been in engagement with the F-15. You can talk/try to compare MiG-29A for this only... but even then its pointless as hardly anyone flies it in MP.

    Starvr

Even though I have 2nd (1st cancelled) order for OR, I am thinking again to cancel it again and wait for StarVR. That 210° must be really great.
  9. erm.... never thought of trying this... will do next time :)
  10. You can make a beautiful woman smarter, but not so much smart woman prettier :D (not beside what makeup can do anyway, well plastic surgery also, but then the aerodynamic shape is changed completely which is no longer the same woman :music_whistling: ) :D
  11. It really depends on the soil, some grass runways are specially prepared (I think they compact gravel underneath the top surface to make the surface harder), but normal fields would not be (and would be too soft). In winter though, ground is mostly frozen and I think should be possible to taxi on it especially for lighter aircraft.
  12. What he said :music_whistling: But you don't need to change it 10. Set it to 2 or 3 max, otherwise your FPS will be unplayable.
  13. You could be onto a bug, The pitot tube is in front of the aircraft for a reason (so that it is not affected by airflow from the air frame). Mach 1 should be showing Mach 1 on the instrument (with small percentage of error of course, but not a lot) and if you see high error, I would say this is a bug.
  14. This is actually a bug (and reported while back), you'll need to wait till ED fixes it (hopefully with Caucasus update estimated later this year)
  15. Very beautiful to watch
  16. Nothing about democracy here. You did not do any work for this, Starway did, so he only is entitled to decide what to do with his work, sell it or give it for free. It is not up to you or anyone else on this forum do say/decide what he is to do.
  17. Guys, its been pointed out a few times, this is an OPTIONAL DLC for the terrain textures, you don't have to buy it if you don't like it or you think its not worth it or you can't afford it. No one is making you have to buy it. Please don't complain about this, its what Starway wanted to do (to get some value for his hard work instead of doing all the work and everyone getting it for free) so please respect that. Once more, you don't have to buy if you don't want... so nothing to complain about here.
  18. DCS is using 2 therads... 1 for the sim engine and 1 for the sound (the soung engine won't use much CPU cycles anyway) so at best DCS will use around 30% of the CPU power for 4 core processors. I think the shadows are the biggest impact on FPS by far but they are rendered on graphics card, not the CPU. I was thinking that DCS should get another pre-set for Graphics options, namely for VR. I can't wait to get my OR to see how it goes, and if I can change some settings to improve performance... but this is few months away for me.
  19. Yeah... something like that (above video). But on more thought I think lot of pressure from the strap could poten5ially break the colar bones... so better scrap this idea.
  20. I've just had a brain fart :) but would still like to share it in case this is actually very doable Well first off all what is the consequences of higher G-Force? 1. Its the increase of weight on your body pulling you into the seat 2. loss of blood in your brain due to blood being pushed down Now, I'll pass on the second as I don't know how you could simulate this other than either start draining your blood out by some pump, and then back into your arm :music_whistling: but the first is somewhat doable Imagine you have a seat where there are straps tied over your shoulders (or could even go to the extreme and make some over your head), now all you need is them to be strong (but comfortable) straps that are being pulled down (tightened) by some motorized roller? The more G you pull in the sim, the tighter the straps pull you down into the seat? Good idea or not? I imagine this would not require some very fancy or space consuming setup, all you'd need is something to pull the straps which would give same effect as G-force pulling you into the seat? You could go more detailed and add some straps to your arm to pull them down also. Crazy I know... but I have a felling this could actually work :)
  21. Wait till DCS Hornet hits the shelves, that won't be the case any more :smilewink:
  22. My guess is also that textures contain more layers now, include specular layer same as external skins. And as they are same resolution as texture layers, it will add to image memory size.
