er.... sorry but no :D Nothing against you but I don't plan to ever use it for anything, if I could I would never run it :)

Good choice and I also completely agree with painting gloss, I would not do it as BrassEm already explains, it shows every mark, imperfection and it also shows very clearly any little dust that you will get on it withing seconds :) Satin Black + dark grey is perfect I think... now waiting for the photos when painted :)

They are still there, just harder to see/notice them.

hm... I'll have to try the MiG-21 one :)

I would coat that in grey if you can, it'll give more contrast to the setup, black will just make it "dissapear" :D

SimShaker for DCS World Sound Mode Expansion - Discussion
Kuky replied to =Andre='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
USB mode is for Gametrix seat, which plugs into USB port, while Sound mode is for ButtKicker (and similar) device which plug into sound card speaker output. -
I've been prompted today to update Rift's Firmware, and it updated it to version 708 / 34a904e8da I have no idea what the changes are
-
That would maybe be the closest I would get to becoming famous :D

Strap yourself into the chair like pilots do and you won't be able to do this.

That's coming along pretty decent. Too bad the 3D printing is not more fine.

MiG-29 up close and personal, when viewed in 3D with VR, it's so awesome. I even stuck my head under landing gear compartment, main and front landing gear, and it feels like I am right in it :) Detail is great. I think some bump mapping could make it look even better... but you have to see it in VR.

I tried full vertical stall in F-15 and after I went into a spin ans spin more I felt no discomfort. I am sure it is because yeven if you are spinning in all directions because you have steady reference point... the cockpit you dont feel disconnected with what you see in VR. But with nothing around you fixed when you move the view with the mouse near terrain and buildings/objects around you its different. At least for me it is.

I have just also experienced bit of queezy feeling in DCS. It was while I was in external view, switched to free camera and started walking around the Nellis airbase. It didn't take long, only few seconds of going forward and I felt bad in my head. Flying aircraft and rolling fast and spinning didn't give me any of such feeling at all, even wlen flying low, but this "walking" on the ground did and it was very quick. Maybe its the cockpit fixed reference what makes me not feel sick when flying inside airframe in DCS... when I have nothing around me and I move close to objects on ground... not good. I am thinking playing something like FPS with VR would be a guaranteed no-no (for me at least). I still haven't tried a chopper, maybe that one will make me sick also.

I don't really like this video. While it does show massive life loss during WWII, it does contain some propaganda (I will not go into details which). You might think and say you need to be grateful for this and that but you can never truly be that unless you experienced this yourself. Its just the way it is, you will get sad feeling, but when video is finished, your life and opinions you held before you watched it, will continue. Proof if this is that no mater how many history books we have (and let me remind you, they change with change of regime, and always there are things which are left out on purpose, which should make you think) the history keeps repeating itself over and over. And reason for this is, generations that haven't been through wars like this (any major war) do not know (simply cannot know) what it really means, you can say what you like, its the way it is. All it takes to get into yet another conflict is for someone to use politics, mix some patriotism, few fabrications and assumptions and scare people from this and that boogieman, and eventually there you have it... yet another war.

Problem in starting 1.5.4 full version
Kuky replied to carss's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Yes, in that folder. Just keep the Config/Input and Missions folder. Delete the rest. Run the repair of DCS (don't use any mods) then start it, if it runs, then if you use using some mods, apply one at the time, start DCS and see if it still runs. If not, you have found the culprit. -
Problem in starting 1.5.4 full version
Kuky replied to carss's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Run a repair, delete DCS from saved games folder (you might want to save Input and Missions folder so you have to redo inoput settings and lose your missions - if you have any). It should work after that. -
Oh man, that made me laugh so hard :megalol:

TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Kuky replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
But using the new TrackIR default.lua should not make it stop working, I wonder if you have some mods that conflict... but if you're happy with old file that should do it I guess (for now at least). -
Its already reported. Bug #35030
-
I've made a feature request to ED for this. I hope they do it as would also like to stay in 2D on menu and mission editor and have VR kick in only when mission is loading/starting.

TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Kuky replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
That doesn't look like having anything to do with default view change. If TrackIR doesn't track straight away at mission start with you just looking forward must be problem with TrackIR. Does it track/move in TrackIR software? -
TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Kuky replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
You are getting that message because you are rotating the head more, and trackIR loses tracking. All you need to do is increase trackIR movement for the same head rotation. -
TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Kuky replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Head position is not higher. Eyes are in front of the rotating point, meaning when you tilt the head down, your eyes are actually lower. In reverse (which is what was changed) the head tilt was set to zero, meaning eye position becomes little higher. It is exactly how it works in real life also. To add to this, same happens when you rotate the head left/right, eyes move left/right also. -
already reported bug #35090
