Same here on both observations. Cheers!

I would like to make a suggestion of trying a closed 3 hour session of BF once a week that would be exclusive event for squads only. With an organized subscribing to the event beforehand, each squad would choose a squadron of aircraft that they would be in charge of throughout the campaign. Each squad would be responsible to provide an AWACS controller, each side will have a theatre commander that would outline the strategy to achieve the predetermined objective goals, etc. Just a thought... Hi Grimes! If possible, a "lite" version of slmod that only includes the admin commands. In our community server we primarily use the "-admin load" and "-admin restart" commands to load missions that community members upload to the slmod mission folder. All other functions are brilliant, but rarely used if at all by the pilots in my community. Cheers!

my first impression of the FM: I am doing crazy maneuvers at less then 120 kts and 32 AoA and the airplane it is not falling out of the sky... Mirage updated FM = UFO

DCS World - Modified Vehicle Dust
ViFF replied to Kuky's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
does this mod pass the integrity check? -
What is the price of the Tarawa if I don't purchase AV-8B? Will it be considered as an asset pack that will be sold seperately? The reason I am asking is if the answer is that the Tarawa will be sold seperately, must the server hosting a mission also purchase a key? Reference the following discussion regarding the concept in general for dedicated servers hosting missions on Normandy and NTTR: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177944 S!

That isn't correct. The F4U variants were also used by the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. From wikipedia: Corsair Mk I: The Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm designation for its initial 95 Vought F4U-1s. These were all early “bird-cage” Corsairs. Corsair Mk II: The Fleet Air Arm designation for Corsairs received from Vought. 360 “blown canopy” F4U-1As and 150 F4U-1D equivalent aircraft were delivered. Corsair Mk III: The Fleet Air Arm designation for Brewster manufactured Corsairs. 430 Brewster Corsairs (334 F3A-1 and 96 F3A-1D), more than half of Brewster’s total production, were delivered to the FAA. Corsair Mk IV: The Fleet Air Arm designation for Goodyear manufactured Corsairs. 857 Goodyear Corsairs (400 FG-1/-1A and 457 FG-1D) were delivered. S!

Actually, its starting to make sense to me under the following assumption: "When a spring is compressed or stretched from its resting position, it exerts an opposing force approximately proportional to its change in length" Heres how I see it: AoA becomes > 22 degrees AoA Feedback (aka trim motor) kicks in and moves the zero position of the stick forward on the Y axis of the stick. The further AoA > 22 the more the trim motor moves the zero position further forward on the Y axis of the stick, which produces a proportional nose-down command, the force becomes increasingly greater for the pilot to keep the stick at a certain position or the aft stops for that matter (see above law) the more the trim motor gives more down command to the trim system, increased to the max which was what? AoA=48 degrees? Can certainly be done on the MS SW FF2, currently you can find something similar in the helicopters cyclic hydraulic force trim and similarly increased "Return to Center FF" on the extremities in the roll axis of the F-5E. Both by Belsimtek :D I hope they will also implement on the F-18! S!

so what is this system called "AOA feedback is active"

Force feedback from the FBW of the F-18 confirmed in plain english. The best force feedback stick out there is still the Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. There are two versions: the green status light and the red status light, the latter is a the later model with a sticky grip. The firmware in both is supposed to be the same, so the force feedback performance should be identical in both the green and the later red models. I keep hunting for them on ebay, they green ones usually sell at around 35 to 50 usd. The red ones usually sell a bit higher, I've seen them sell at over 80 usd in some cases. When I find one at a good price I buy!

thats it? what about gathering data on why the server gets choppy in missions that have EWR and SAMs systems?

7.5 Gs plus 33% = 9.975 Gs is this correct?

+1 regarding option of removing gunsight camera and mount to work in MP. The clutter it creates in the immediate front view is very annoying and disorienting. Cheers!

Huge FPS drop in 2.0 when Mig-21 are close to each other
ViFF replied to agentkgb's topic in Performance
I confirm the problem persists. Happened to me & wingman on blue flag server when lining up on the runway very close to each other. Cheers -
05:45 to 6:15 has relevance to the person speaking just before who explains that "the F-5 is a really difficult airplane to fly well". The next guy is saying that pilots (such as himself) who come from other squadrons with a lot of experience from flying as adversaries (Red Air), F-16s, F-18s, etc come to fly with the Saints and they also have to learn to fly the F-5 and the added difficulty is that they have totally forgot how to fight 1 vs 1 and are very upset "biting their tongue" during debrief when they are getting failing grades on their first flights. 7:54 he said: Oh my god I have had too many "close calls" i.e. dangerous situations 9:32 about the watch he is joking saying that he is not like other "B" fighter pilots who buy big expensive watches with an ornament like "F-14 on the second hand" just to show that they are fighter pilots. 13:19 - When I give it up, thats all "I'm going to have left - just the dreams (about dog fights) Nice vid thanks for sharing!

2 situations: Mission with only Kuznetsov on the map: smooth sailing, Su-33 sitting nicely and firmly on the deck, no sliding. Added Kuznetsov and 3x FFG escorts to an existing mission that included AIs: 2x tankers and aprox 8 SAMs (1x SA-6 site and 7x SA-8 units) and some static GRAD trucks at the "X" range near Batumi: In all 3 spawn slots for the Su-33 you get shaking and slowly slides on the deck on all 3 spawn points, same for helicopters spawned on the deck (tested UH-1H, Mi-8 and Ka-50). Tried reducing speed in ME from 32 to 30 kts with no change: all aircraft that spawn on the deck will shake and slowly slide. Same settings with only Kuznetsov on the map sailing at 32 kts : smooth sailing, all aircraft nicely sitting on the deck with no shaking nor sliding. Weather conditions were 5/8 clouds at 4,500 feet and 4 kt wind , no storms and no dynamic weather. S!

+1 I support this!

+1 Would very much appreciate more EWR radars so that there will be a radar picture that would warrant the assignment of human GCI by the participants on both sides. Loving the setup! S!

Hi Jocko, For your Israeli skins here are the era-correct squadron insignia: 105 "The Scorpion" Squadron (yellow/black striped tails & yellow spinner) 101 Squadron (white / red striped tails & red spinner) S!

Hi Toertchen, First of all thank very much for this checklist and for your continued updates. Regarding VENT on the engine start / fuel panel, the selection of VENT is for when you want to interfere during an engine start (to stop the process) or when doing a cranking for dry ventilation of the engine. This is what I understand in the pilot manual written in French... Cheers

Thank you very much VampireNZ! When can us brave virtual pilots see something accurate? Or shall we continue to throw ourselves into battle against the American and Russian hordes relying on checklists and performance charts created on best guesstimates and good intentions? Cheers :D
