Don't think this would be a good practice. Any rudder input would cause unnecessary resistance., and might lead to problems after touch down, unless you can recenter trim (not something u need to be doing right then) just after touch down.
In cross wind, I always leave plenty of room on finals, to adjust the nose for the cross wind. if your being blow down, then nose into the wind a bit further till it keeps u stable on the approach path. Then on touch down, apply rudder to align with runway just before touch down. Then trim rudder to keep straight.
And if its not right, I'll always do a missed approach, and try again.
