  1. LOL! I assumed he might want to skip bomb a dam...like they did during WWII... https://www.damninteresting.com/skipping-bombs-like-stones/
  2. Would be a cool feature...But what do you plan to skip bomb..ships? Are there any dams on the Normandy Rivers? I ask because I don't know.
  3. Map looks great...can't wait. Q1/2017 ends in 60 days! Would be cool if there were Barrage Balloons left over from the Invasion?..
  4. Well the relase of Normandy Q1-2017 would mean a 2.XX (or whatever the v-number) update would it not? So not that far away! What, 8 weeks to end of Q1? I would think the Viggen and Spitfire would make it to NTTR before that though.
  5. A bit OT but I am curious how this will work once the Big Unification happens and 1.5.X Stable + 1.5.X OB is not supported and goes away. Will there be a 2.5 + 2.5 Open Beta (or whatever the numbers will be) then as a test bed? Guess so? If so, we will still be looking at two installs to participate in any early access.
  6. We are all for historical accuracy, are we not? "Meat On the Table"! All is fair in Love and War. This is War!
  7. Well, I look forward to shooting down 262s during take off to prevent just that since it would be rare to have that opportunity at speed. But there is always the chance of a passing shot although with low probabilty of success. You can bet the Allies will be monitoring airfields for the 262 just waiting for one to lift off. If not we will get you when landing just for the historical satisfaction, "Meat On The Table". Never cared for the plane, will never fly one. I just want to kill them. My feeling is you won't be very succesful against the fighters, unless you sneak up on them and have good gunnery skills. If they see you coming and they go evasive you will most likely over fly them. Hopefully, the B17s will have decent gunners and the formations will give you "what for" such that you will be deterred or smoked. At any rate you will mostly have passing shots on the bombers. I wonder how many of those it would take to "make the skies burn" with them. I cant see that happening with one sortie. Whats the flight time in a 262? <S>
  8. My First Spitfire 1970 I'll never forget the Spitfire I owned long ago...Great Lines...Turning radius was pretty tight! Instead of wings, she frequently sported two longboards on top...which some uninformed country folk referred to as "wings"...Go figure.
  9. I agree there is nothing wrong with the news letter. My comment certainly was not intended as a negative remark. Just a mere prediction, joining the guessing game. I was not excited and was on the fence regarding the Viggen. But I have seen the light and decided to buy her! Now I am excited about it. Maybe I will win one of the 15 slots to get my Handle on an F14 skin. Would be cool if they did that for The Viggen too!
  10. I dont expect anything except Viggen Hype and extended Bundle deals... But I WOULD LIKE TO BE SURPRISED. I place myself in the pessimistic column, which is unusual. Edit: Newsletter just dropped...unfortunately, i was spot on.
  11. I like the backfire sounds and hope this does not change. Yes, hope to see the engine smoke for props in an appropriate way soon!
  12. I am a vietnam era vet...I see it all the time from WWII to modern day. Does not bother me at all as long as it is in good taste and done in a respectful way. Friend of mine often wears his uncles actual WWII Flying Tigers A2 jacket with insignia and silk Blood Chit on back. I have always been jealous of that one.
  13. Have them all. Have to go with the P51D.
  14. We all appreciate your efforts, insider perspective, help and humor. Great job...keep up the good work! Also, a big thanks to Skatezilla and BigNewy! <S>
  15. I believe he is referring to Comms with other human players in Teamspeak in Multiplayer Servers.
  16. If it were to change it should be optional on or off. There may be others like me that likes it as is. But noone speaks for everyone.
  17. Very nice and Like it...but I would just die without armrests.
  18. The rush to participate in VR will soon be leaving early adopters with a proverbial dinosaur. Next gen is coming and ofcourse we will have to have it. Im glad I waited and have no problem waiting until it gets much better.
  19. I mapped the RPM lever and reduce it to 2700 after T/O...and pretty much leave it alone after that. Then I just worry about MP... but others may manage differently. Lets see what they say...
  20. For the A10C you will have to assign Trim. The trim button on the WH defaults to views which I never have understood.
  21. My sig rig was built about 2 years ago just for DCS...and with SC in mind. Fooling around with The Division as well. Still runs whatever I through at it with no issues. "Knocking on Wood".
  22. That is good news...just pleased it is still in the works... the P-47 will be a great addition.
  23. Thats fine...just my opinion..if it appears in the WWII skies, I guess I can shoot them down while they are landing since we wont be able to catch them in flight.
  24. Sure... we all know EISTC... As for the ME-262...i could not care less for it. It does nothing for me and I would not buy it. And that goes for any WWII Jet for that matter. I would rather see that energy of time and effort spent on something else.
  25. From the DCS December 30, 2016 Newsletter: "This is only a small part of our plan for 2017. Our goal is to create an entire World War II environment for our warbirds which will continue our strategic goal of creating an air combat simulation that spans the world and across the decades. Strap in!". This is a huge and ambitious statement. Just ponder what this means. Normandy as the first map. Whether 3rd party or by ED, which theater will be 1st to follow? Hopefully, Normandy will see early access in the next 90 days...that would keep me busy whilst looking forward to the further development of DCS WWII. Sure Europe needs further expansion...but the Pacific theater would also bring a new dimension. Loving all things WWII, Im excited about the stated goal... So I have made an assumption that this means maps ("environment")...and not just aircrafts representing countries and periods. It is very hard to Challenge your own Assumptions... Well done and...Thanks ED! <S>
