  1. I think I found what’s the matter. Here a little confusion seems to have arisen with the ambient files. We will fix it. Partially, their volume will be reduced, partly other files will be used. Thanks for your report. track or video is no longer required
  2. This has already been discussed more than once. Please read other topics regarding P47 sound. In DCS there is not a single such engine, the exhaust of which goes through the entire body into the tail of the aircraft into a turbocharger. Therefore, in DCS there is no other airplane that sounds like that. It should not sounds like other planes. But which map do you use? maybe we need to volume down the sound of the birds on this map ;) Plz attach track or/and video.
  3. Dear theGozr, I'm sure someone will want to make a sound mode based on YouTube. And you will be happy using it. We cannot afford it, having our own audio recordings. Of course, something always needs to be corrected and improved, but not on the basis of YouTube, if there is a recording from professional equipment. If we didn’t have these sound recordings - perhaps the sound would be exactly the way you want :) Please do not compare the sound of the P47 with the Yak9 and the like. They have a completely different sound. Almost all of P47 exhaust is usually going directly into the turbosuperchargers. Not in the face of the pilot, like in Yak9
  4. Dear all, Let's listen to real recordings of P-47 startup from the cockpit with opened canopy. It was recorded with professional sound equipment. To understand the recording level, note that at the very beginning of the recording, the pilot zips up his jacket https://yadi.sk/d/B6knW-iMcNbWlw Do you really want just a loud sound or a sound close to real? You're right. Some pop sounds were created separately for P47, and some are taken from general sounds for WW2 aircraft. I will fix it. Thanks.
  5. Unfortunately there are two similar themes on the forum. I have to copy-paste my answer about the volume here: Perhaps you expected something the same as the P51 or BF109 in sound. But alas, the P47 is a really quiet plane. If someone else from the WW2 aircraft we have presented flies next to him in the sky, you won’t even really hear him. You watch and compare the simulator with YouTube videos, recorded with sound compressors. In life, he is really quiet. I present to you a real record from the cockpit with an open P47 canopy at idle when other planes fly nearby - https://yadi.sk/d/KVy8T91NAGHnFA From the very beginning (in addition to flybys) you can hear the sound of the propeller, but not of the P47, but of another aircraft, which is really far away. Closer to the middle of the recording, this sound even gets brighter and louder than everything that sounds in the cockpit p47. The sound of the 47th in the cockpit is actually muddy and quiet on low rpms. And the answer of horseback: most if not all of their exhaust is usually going directly into the turbosuperchargers so that most of the engine noise is muffled compared to the P-40s, Mustangs, Corsairs and Hellcats that were also present.
  6. Exactly. Thanks Of course, something in the sounds will change and improve. We are always working on it. But please do not expect a second Mustang from the P47 :)

About adjusting the volume of the world - changing the world volume in the audio settings, you do not change it for the cockpit. You change it only for the cameras outside the cockpit
  8. Well , I slightly increased the starter volume. Please expect in coming updates.
  9. Sorry, but cant reproduce it. Are you sure you dont have any mods on F16? Can you give me the track with this bug and your log-file please
  10. Thanks for your report. I will try to reproduce it.
  11. Cant open your link. Please upload your video to youtube
  12. Well, we checked - the sound is in place and it works. Check this video plz: Perhaps you expected to hear the loud and screeching sound of the starter as in P-51. But in P-47, an electric motor helps to spin the starter. And due to more complex gears or due to a more even moment, the sound is really quiet, not very noticeable. We managed to record it in Duxford from a real plane. Therefore, the sound in the simulator is pretty close to the original sound.
  13. Thank you for your report. We'll figure out.
  14. You are trying to set a comfortable volume level for flight or maximum RPM mode, and at the same time (with the same volume level) you want to hear Idle well. This is correct and should be for the game, but not for our simulator. Please check the video, I just want to make sure that now in your version of the DCS the same sound? I think now there is a proper level difference between idle and flight modes. but if you have a recording of more or less professional audio equipment - please share it. If there is a discrepancy, I will correct it immediatly.
  15. Please don't duplicate messages in different topic. For Messerschmidt there have been no updates on sound for the last 2 months. About the volume at low rpms (ATA) - it has already been written 100 times. It is very difficult to explain in detail each time :) In short, the video volume is overestimated by the compressor at low RPMs (ATA) and greatly lowered by the limiter at high. We are trying to show a huge difference in changing the sound volume from idle to maximum, that you cant hear from gopro cameras. But you can in real life.
  16. It’s great that you registered on the forum specifically to discuss this issue. Be sure to always keep in mind that when viewing a video from a camera such as GoPro on YouTube, you get not quite the right information. Camera records sound with low-frequency vibration from the cab, which the ear will not hear. The camera has a compressor that distorts the sound level. The camera has a level limit that the microphone can record without distortion. And it is quite small. What piston planes have you flown in life?
  17. Yes, a well-known bug. Which still cannot be repaired :(
  18. Replace in folder: \LockOnExe\Mods\aircraft\[YOUR AIRCRAFT]\Skins\1\EditorMusic\MainMenuIn.ogg with your music There are 2 files: MainMenuIn.ogg and MainMenuLoop.ogg. The second one plays immediately after the first one in loop mode. If there are no files in this folder, just add your own with the same name.
  19. This is very strange, because we cannot note such problems on our side. At the moment, we are still inclined to believe that the problem lies with other software. The DCS sound engine takes into account only the volume set in the sound settings of the DCS. It takes nothing from audio device or windows mixers.
  20. It seems to be the problem on VoiceChat side. Try to close all VoiceChat programs and check please again.
  21. Try to open Windows sound options and at the last tab check "Do Nothing" Maybe you have this bug because windows reduce DCS volume
  22. Maybe you are talking about some specific radio messages? because no one has ever complained about the volume of the recorded radio chatters. Anyway, in sound options you can lower "In-Cockpit" slider. Leave "Helmet" slider at 100% - it is the volume for the radio.
  23. You can add "gain = 0" to all sdef from the list. And then step-by-step (file by file) disable this option. And improve or replace original audio file or sdef. So you can hear what the original file do.
  24. There was a bug with wrong sound for electrical system. But in F16 ( and FA18 ) we have a hydraulic landing gear system. Now it's correct. It should not be hearable. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=266162&page=2
  25. Yeah, thanks, I thought so too. And I tidied up this sound a little. Plus I made some more minor edits as well. Please expect in updates. Not sure about the upcoming updates, as these are too minor edits and are not a bug.
