Recovery/Repair Blue Screen After New RAM install
pimp replied to pimp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you both for your replies. I feel stupid because I noticed this difference before, but did not think much of it. My original 8GB sticks have serial number CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 which can be found on the QVL for this specific mobo, however, the 16GB sticks' serial number is CMK32GX4M2E3200C16 which I just realized is not on the QVL. So I will be returning these 16GB sticks to Microcenter near me and I just purchased the correct 16GB sticks, CMK32GX4M2B3200C16, directly from Corsair. Not saying this will fix my issue, but I at least want the correct parts before wasting people's time. I'll keep this post updated once the new RAM is installed. Thank again. -
Hi All, I have 32GB(4x 8GB) of RAM and I recently decided to add more. So I installed 32GB(2x 16GB) of the same RAM type and removed 2x 8GB which totals ~ 48GB of RAM. After installation, I could not get my PC to boot up. The white LED(VGA boot) stayed on so I cleared CMOS and was able to get into BIOS. I applied my XMP II Overclock Profile for my i9 9900k, saved settings and restarted my machine, but I keep getting the error screen below. From that screen, I can get to BIOS and just exit out and my machine boots up successfully. However, every time I restart my machine or cold start, this blue screen shows and I can just repeat the process of going into the BIOS and exit. So I decided to purchase 2 more 2x16(32GB) sticks to total ~64GB because I figured there was a conflict between the 16 & 8 sticks. So after installing the 2 new 2x16GB sticks, clearing the CMOS, and reapplying my XMP II Profile, the same issues occur. The blue screen shows, I enter BIOS, and exit BIOS to boot successfully. As a test, I reinstalled my previous 4x 8GB sticks, cleared CMOS, applied XMP II Profile and restarted successfully. I can keep restarting or cold starting multiple times without getting the blue screen. So I’m not sure if my machine just does not like this RAM or it just can’t handle being upgraded on top of this existing Windows install. I also thought my overclock profile was an issue so I set all my settings to default, but the blue screen still happened, but not on every restart/cold start. I haven’t attempted a recovery/repair yet since files can get lost. I wanted that to be my last resort. Some assistance with this issue would VERY much be appreciated. Please let me know if more info is needed. Inateck PCIe USB Card & Power Saver Mode
pimp replied to pimp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Bit for your reply. I never install GF Experience, because I don't like all that unecessary junk on my PC. I didn't have this issue on my previous install so this is really pissin me off. -
Hi All, I recently performed a new Windows install and I noticed that when I set my machine to power saver mode the displays does not turn off at the set time span. So after turning off certain processes and unplugging certain peripherals, I figured out it's the Inateck Card. I have to unplug EVERYTHING from the card in order for the displays to go off. I have my Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pedals, and Reverb G1 plugged into it. I did not have this issue with my previous install so is there some setting that needs to be configured? Thanks in advance!!! P.S. I've tried the USB Suspend setting on & off, but the displays stay on. Also, I did not install the drivers from Inateck, because I believe I read that the Windows drivers were better.

Good idea, but I bet you $5 it won't stop people from creating these types of threads.

Which graphics options do virtually nothing?
pimp replied to e32lover's topic in Game Performance Bugs
How did you get your hands on a 3090? -
Yeah, I'm all about clarity improvements and I didn't really see any overwhelming DCS+G2 reviews on clarity compared to G1 which is why I'm not actively jumping into the purchase queue. I'm more looking for a 3090 to improve my G1.
-
Ok. That's reassuring. Preciate the replies.
-
Don, even with your 3090 the performance suffers? Are you able to use MSAA and SS 100% with the 3090? I was looking into getting this card but if there's not much difference in performance in DCS than a 2080ti, then I don't want to waste my money.

What's the point? They keep the Patch Status thread updated.

Walk to and from the aircraft? I highly doubt this is passed concept stage. ED is planning this but it doesn't necessarily mean they've started, and I'm sure this is not high priority, unfortunately. Besides, this feature should be core, not just for the SC. Regardless, I am with you. I am highly looking forward to this as well.

I'm debating on if I should jump in the queue for a G2. I really want a 3090 since I already have a G1. I don't know what to do.
-
I have no idea. I don't fly in MP. Sorry.

You can give my modified steam file a try. Make sure you backup your original. It can be found in the directory path below: Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\Effects\ParticleSystem2 Orginally created by @Milli https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/dcs-world-topics/mods-and-apps/220915-increase-stennis-catapult-steam-density steamCatapult.lua

People get so hung up on names, beta & stable. In DCS' case there's really not that much difference. Just use the beta version and fly.
-
That worked, thank you.

I haven't flown the A-10 in years. I'M BACK:thumbup:

Definitely agree. This is how I felt a couple of weeks ago when the software stopped working. Everything was lifeless. So what's the plan for the A-10C-2, f4l0? Do you need $10 to add the functionality to SSA?

AG Missiles section.

I haven't flown the A-10C in years. I didn't realize how much I missed it.

Hi All, Can someone tell me where to place this file, "ThreatNewUS.wav"? I've modified this file since I started playing DCS, but I haven't flown the A-10 in years. So it's time to use it again but the sound file structure has changed. It is definitely one of the most annoying sounds in DCS along with the low-altitude Rad-Altimeter sound in the Hornet. Thanks in advance!!!
