  1. Thanks for the WiP sneak peak. I have complete confidence in CptSmiley and the entire RAZBAM team. Can't wait to fly it myself!

    DCS: F-5E!

I get where you're coming from "mattebubben", but they have to draw the line somewhere. In looking for info on a AGM-65 enabled model I learned the F-5 can carry a vast assortment of stuff depending on the country and upgrades. An array of US weapons, AGM-45 Shrike, canopy mounted laser designation device for LGB's, modern air to air missile, etc. Some countries converted to French weapons and radar. Some countries built new aircraft under license while others (Iran) just made copies and changed the name. The US parts they can't buy they replace with Russian gear. Based on the weapon list, radar and the inclusion of an RWR, we will be getting a middle of the road, not heavily updated version.

How about some Shrikes? Saudi F-5s are dedicated to army close air support and can carry AGM-45 Shrike ASMs, GBU-10/12 laser-guided bombs, and Rockeye cluster bomb units. The RSAF's F-5s have the capability of carrying and launching the Hughes AGM-65A/B Maverick missile for ground attack and anti-shipping missions. Saudi F-5E/Fs are reportedly capable of carrying the French-built Matra R.550 Magic air to air missile. Royal Saudi Air Force F-5Es were fitted with the Litton LN-33 inertial navigation system and are fitted with inflight refuelling capability for use with the RSAF's KC-130 aerial tankers. They were provided with ALQ-101/119 ECM pods and ALR-46 RWR. The two-seaters were provided with canopy-mounted Northrop AVQ-27 manual laser target designators.

The F-86 model they made is Korean war era but we have sidewinders from after that war, closer to 58. The UH-1H is Vietnam war era but the armament mounting we have is not typical to that time. The Mi-8MTV2 is fairly current and era ubiquitous. I think they are flexible where they want to be.

Yeah, the announcement clearly states unguided air to ground ordnance.
  6. During a recent interview Pat was asked, "Are there multiple versions of the Gazelle (export, canon, HOT ...)?" ...and he answered, "Yes, in real life there are several models of Gazelle SA341, SA342, canon, HOT, Mistral... We would like all get out. It all depends on how to pass out of the Viviane HOT. Be notified afterwards! The other models are already ready: gun, rockets, air / air, but as we have the authorization of ED for one model we go step by step. (sorry if the translation is off) Q: Will Polychop be able to offer us these other weapon options?

    DCS: F-5E!

Thanks for the info! Well that settles that question.
  8. Make sure the throttle is in sync. As soon as you get in the pit move the throttle up then all the way down. This will insure it is in sync. If the issue continues, check the calibration to insure there is no spiking breaking the start cycle. If the issue continues, consider removing the control configs for that aircraft from the Saved Games/DCS folder and set the controls up again through the GUI. Good luck

Unless the aircraft is meant to fit only 1 specific time frame, it is better to make them more capable than less, when it comes to things like load-outs. The F-5E Tiger II for example could fit any mission from 1973 until today. Core system upgrades are a different story. Building a 2nd pit for a modern version with an MFCD would, I'm sure, be a non-starter. I'd like to see more devs take LN's lead on this. In the MiG you have the example of the control panel that is added to the pit when you sling a nuke. That kind of innovation could lead to more versions of a single airframe being possible.
  10. Hanging at 70% is partial compressor stall.

  12. Try [R-ALT + Enter] while in the sim.
  13. Just tested this for the heck of it and it seems to be working fine for me holding the S key with the engine above about 53% If you think your control scheme is fouled you can copy them out of the Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/config/input folder to a safe place. When you restart the sim the controls will be defaulted. Test using the S key, and see what happens.
  14. I think there was a version some time ago that did this. I recall the work around was to give them a waypoint to move to even if it was a short distance.
  15. Some people are experiencing the opposite video problem as well. It seems for some, no matter if you have the full screen check box checked or not, the game is running windowed. You can hit R-ALT + ENTER to change it in game. For some this stops the stutters and tearing.
  16. Yep, I'm on board with Buzzles. F4U vs Zeke with a map and some support units. Maybe part of the Solomon islands. Plus a Saab...
  17. Whatever modules LN have up their sleeves, wouldn't this be a great time for a big announcement with so many DCS'ers on the forum? :ufo:
  18. Thanks for the module. Whichever one I win.
  19. Making it an option is a great solution. Add to that list, high octane gas, gunsight, max manifold, and post WW2 weapons. Easy peasy:music_whistling:
  20. Ciribob also makes a good point. If your load is an air defense unit and you think someone is after you, deploy them. I get great satisfaction when I see the Manpad team I just dropped engaging enemy aircraft as I dust off and fly away.
  21. Stay low, fast, and dark. Pay attention to what the AWACS is telling you. Keep one eye out for incoming fire. Remember, if the F-15 is dogging you then he is as vulnerable as you are to him, for the fast movers on your side, so call for help.
  22. Operational limitations begins on page 31 of the manual. What to drop and when is listed there.
  23. ED showed pictures of the Falcon they were making several years ago. It has been on the back burner for a long time. There are some posts on the Russian side that say they still work on it and when the time is right they will finish it. I suspect ground radar has been part of the holdup.
  24. After the those missions were first built they changed the weapon stations around. That change caused the weapons on 1 side thing, as I recall. Are you running a current version or an older one? Either way, the advise to open it in the ME, fix the weapon loadout, and save it, should fix it.
