  1. If you enter a JTAC slot (CA required I assume) you will see all the locations on the map. You can figure out the locations your side controls by whether or not there are friendly units around them.
  2. So, should I post my extensive CA wish list here now? :P :music_whistling: Congrats!
  3. Open the file ...\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\Labels.lua with notepad++ and edit it to fit your needs. The file is well commented and easy to figure out.
  4. What about drag? Is it a consideration?
  5. If each module install is hardware locked then you should be able to limit calling home to joining MP, updating, or installing a new module. If the idea of the new DRM is to move away from a hardware locked install, then I can see the need to have regular contact. I'm not a DRM expert though, so there could be variables I'm not aware of.
  6. A friend kept having all his USB devices reset. Here is what he discovered. May not be related to your issue, but then again...
  7. This may go back to an old DCS bug. When a missile looses lock or the target is destroyed while the missile is in flight, instead of continuing on a ballistic course, it will blow up. This has been fixed/broken/fixed/broken/fixed... etc. over the years.
  8. There is a gamma slider and a cockpit illuminations check box on the options screen.
  9. ...and some of them take a minute to wake up.
  10. Where did you see that Bogey Jammer? The last posts from an actual team member I've seen say they are still making the F4U, just not this year.
  11. It's really driven by era, environment, and mission requirements. In general, it would be configured less for destruction and more towards sensing and marking.
  12. The CIA often use Russian-built helicopters, such as MI-8/MI-17s, for covert operations. As these ubiquitous helicopters are usually commonplace in theater they create less attention than a tricked-out Black Hawk or MH-53 Pavelow and cannot be readily linked to US forces. These helos are cheap to run and easier to find spare parts for when operating outside the US military logisitical chain. They are also one of the few military helicopters capable of operating over the mountains of Afghanistan. CIA hips spotted in Iraq were equipped with various extra antennae (e.g. Bat-wing SATCOM) and countermeasures such as flare launchers and AN/ALQ-144 infrared jammers.
  13. If you believe what intel says, each generation is 10-20% better. Some of that can be clock, some architecture, and some from the surrounding hardware. DCS may give less bang for the buck since it doesn't use all the cores, yet.
  14. Squadron Directory https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062
  15. Back in the days of 32 bit, they couldn't include it all due to memory address limitations. When they added Eastern Georgia they cut Crimea. Maybe it will come back someday. If I remember correctly there was an airfield on the southern coast of the Black Sea as well.
  16. It switches automatically based on AoA.
  17. They just told us the module had gone to ED for final testing. Do you want them to come out and repeat the statement? There is nothing new to say until that's done, is there?
  18. The standalone aircraft and what you have in FC3 are the same.
  19. Unless something has changed, you can use an invisible truck.
  20. Long load time is not unusual for a new install. The stopping is a different story. Post your dcs.log and somebody may be able to identify an issue. If you have a .crsh file you can post it also
  21. marble = marvel (marvelous) That last bit is him saying, in the fighter game, the companies, Lockheed, GD (abbreviation of General Dynamics), Mac-air (abbreviation/nickname for McDonald Douglas?) can build great airplanes but it is the men that win wars.
  22. Since ED is aware and looking into it, and you have all the test missions you need, I'll just add this one thing. I don't think it's just SAM units. We have been running a Vietnam mission series in our squad. The missions are very light on SAM units but heavy on infantry. After the 157 patch they became unplayable in the same way others have described in this thread. I think it's just AI numbers in general. Our squad reverted to 156, and the missions all run fine again.
  23. The best thing to do when you find yourself about to take off in your Mustang, with 2 BF-109's over the field, is to jump out of the plane and onto a Bofors. :D
  24. We are moving from "bug" into the realm of "damage model" now. For the record, you can kill a BTR-80 with a CBU-87 in DCS 2.X right now. Give it a try.
  25. More choice is always better than less. You setup your server and fly it the way you want and I will do the same.
