  1. That's normal. By raising the collective you pitch the rotor blades into the air. Beyond a certain point the resistance of the air is strong enough to bring the engine RPM down, triggering the alarm.
  2. In the ME you have to create the groups and set them to activate. For a true respawn you must use MIST or a script as far as I know. If you run a search for group respawn you should find some helpful threads.
  3. Troop hauling is still a WiP for ED. I don't think they have ever said it's ready, just that they are working on it. I think they pulled it off the / radio while rebuilding it to work for all transports, Player, AI, they even mentioned ground vehicles at some point. If they can make that all work it will be worth the wait. Belsimtek have said on these forums somewhere they are waiting for transport/crew to be made part of DCSW instead of building another one off like they did for the Huey. For now there are the scripts, or custom mission triggers.
  4. I've never had a problem with MP. I don't think server admins are checking keyboard files which is all this is.
  5. Add to "Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Input\su-25\keyboard\default.lua" for example. {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RCtrl", "RShift", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Down, name = "Gain goggles down", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RAlt", "RShift", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Up, name = "Gain goggles up", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = '5'}}, down = iCommandPlaneModeHelmet, name = '(5) Close Air Combat HMD Helmet Mode', category = 'Modes'}, Watch out for key conflicts. These lines are removed if you update since you're putting them inside the default file instead of the diff file in Saved Games. This mod makes it look better... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100333
  6. It's not just you. The troop transport feature is a work in progress.
  7. Both are highly detailed modules. The Sabre is like a little sports car. A fast agile fighter. It's a lot of fun to whip around in, and because of the era it's from it's easier to jump right in and go. The MiG is a beast. That big engine makes it more of a dragster. It's best in the interceptor role. The learning curve is a lot steeper. It's not just the radar and the switches either, basic flying activities like landing will require more effort and precision. Which ever you go with now, grab the other when you can. They are both excellent.
  8. The pay campaigns are a good idea. The problem is they get broken and need to be constantly updated as DCS is updated. Just ask any respected builder, or read the threads already out there on the subject.
  9. I know this doesn't help and isn't what you want but, troop transport is a WiP. They just made more changes in the 1.2.12. More changes will be made soon.
  10. If there is a better home PC helo simulator out there than the 2 in DCS, I'd like to know about it, so I can try it.
  11. Several months ago STEAM decided they would no longer merge the keys purchased in the ED store with their database. Keys purchased in the ED store will not work with a STEAM install the normal way. There is a way described on these forums to "backdoor" the install and make it work, but this is less than ideal since you can't auto update after. If you are so inclined, contact STEAM and let them know you would like to see this changed.
  12. It's here also... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=133780
  13. It is different now. The AoA changes of the aircraft are effecting the movement of the stabilized laser. If you get the aircraft on a rail so the terrain you see through the HUD glass isn't drifting, then the directional adjustments work as expected.
  14. Currently you can occupy a manpad and use the JTAC bino's if you have CA. You can make the unit invisible if you want move around near enemies. Movement on foot is painfully slow. This is by far the worst way to try and JTAC. You begin to realize just how large the map is when start running around on foot.
  15. Yep, you get this in the Frog as well with some wind.
  16. Mission script error [string "local eHandler = {}..."]:6: attempt to call method 'getname' (a nil value) stack traceback: [C]: in function 'getname' [string "local eHandler = {}..."]:6: in function 'onEvent' {string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:13: in function <[string "Scripts/World/EventHandlers.lua"]:11> ...but I don't think it will work as I and the OP had hoped anyway. Landing events only happen at airfields. Landing off field doesn't count.
  17. I tried using this but I'm getting an error on mission load. local eHandler = {} function eHandler:onEvent(e) if e.id == world.event.S_EVENT_LAND then if e.initiator then local gName = e.initiator:getname() if gName = 'PEDRO 1' then trigger.action.setUserFlag(1,true) end end end end world.addEventHandler(eHandler) Here is the error... [string "c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\/~misc00000480"]:7: 'then' expected near '=' So it's telling me line 7, then expected near =, but that makes no sense to me. Any help would be appreciated.
  18. The way it's set up now, yes, you must have the hardpoints to have flares.
  19. Was just looking for this myself recently...
  20. Check for conflicts or flush you current Mi-8 profile because "left Win+ Home" is working for the rest of the DCS world.
  21. You heard the man! Toe the line! Discussion over! :helpsmilie: I think Sith's a good guy and all, but I didn't realize his words had the power to change history. Review: The project was a kickstarter in which backers paid extra money for alpha access. Ed took over the project and alpha access was taken off the table. The OP simply asked ED to re-consider having some sort of alpha access. *My original point in this thread was that, people who paid extra money for alpha access actually wanted alpha access, and should not be dismissed as if they didn't know what they were paying for. Sith posted "In the context of how ED does thing...." So I replied if you change the context, anything goes. Do you get it now? If your not sure, just start from the top again, or read the definition of "context". :smilewink: As to the OP, I dare say at this point, we shouldn't get our hopes up for anything beyond what was spelled out in the June/July posts, by Wags. I'm not.
  22. Sure, if you change the context, anything goes....
  23. Wow! I wasn't expecting this. I love it though!
  24. The theory put forth above that backers don't really want alpha build access is really quite silly considering many of them paid extra to get it. Just sayin... Now to the separate question of would they really want it after they saw it, well that's debatable, but we'll never know for sure since it's not going to happen.
  25. It should never be turned off during normal operation. The engine does have a mechanical pump but if the engine shuts off and the pumps are off you will have no fuel pressure, and won't be able to restart. Also when operating the engine at or near maximum you want both due to the high fuel demand. This is why you are limited when running on drop tanks. They don't have pumps and run off the engine pump and a little bit of vacuum.
