It can be an angle, better it would be a JSON drawing since it can also be a horizontal line at some point. If you zoom in a bit, you can see the LSLLC as a yellow dotted line in the screen.
-
Ah yes, I was mistaken, please disregard the lines on the elevation part of the screen. It only pertains to the azimuth part of the screen, the lower part. What would be helpful if we were to get the altitude on the cursor when we toch the elevation line with our mouse pointer.

Ghosting is still a problem but it can be avoided now. By having everyone join the server just once and not restarting or hopping to a different aircraft. In virtualwings that can be accomplished, on public servers I don't think so. We see ghosting come up once people rejoin after a crash or go into another aircraft. On the request side of things, can the following line be added to the PAR screen DArt? 2 degree azimuth and 5 degree azimuth from the centreline 2 degree elevation and 5 degree elevation from the glideslope An adjustable LSLLC, which is the Lower Safety Limit Line Cursor which is a line visible on the glideslope display which indicates the utmost lower limit of where a radar contact can safely be without crashing into stuff. An elevation in degrees would be great!

Need som help, please! how to???
Looney replied to buspelle's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
You can't remove the VRS, it's part of the flight model. Keep practicing and you'll learn to recognise VRS before it happens. -

Yes, they can be removed by deselecting the checkbox in the mission editor prior to starting the mission. With regards to VRS, before you enter VRS you can get translational lift buffeting. You can use this buffeting as a pre-warning to increase collective considerably because time is short when you need that amount of power in the rotor blades. -
We're going to be trying the door gunners and the suppression script to see if we can make the gunners somewhat useful. What we really would like to see is the same love the UH1 gunners got in the mission editor, setting the accuracy of the gunners with a slider. It's there for the UH1, why not the Mi-8? If the implementation of the gunners is done in the same way, copying over code from uh1 to mi8 may be a solution. Than again, I'm no software guy...
-
That's because you can set the accuray of the UH1 door gunners in the mission editor. For the Mi-8 though, this option is not available regretfully. I do hope they add it as it's in the UH1 module already..

We have to compensate for the sim as opposed to real life. If you have a helicopter overhead firing a 12.7mm at you, you'd duck and take cover even if his fire wasn't close. I've been very near to heli gunners and they'll use their aim and any offset is compensated for in the next number of shots, essentially walking their impact onto the target. Sure enough, firing from a helicopter is anything but accurate but with the pinpoint accuracy of the AI, we should have some compensation with regards to the accuracy of our door gunners. IIRC, it is possible to edit a .LUA file in the UH1 to allow for better accuracy of the doorgunners, YMMV though.

Is it possible to tweak the accuracy of the onboard gunners? Right now they don't seem to be hitting the broad side of a barn... I landed very near red AI infantry set to AI OFF and after expended almost 3 cases of ammo, the door gunner finally found his mark.. The rear gunner, I don't know man, he was just looking at this red guy and doing nothing....

There's a mod out there that allows you to use some of the SU-25 rocket pods because they were previously used on the MTV2 IIRC. On the other hand, nobody is stopping you for modding in the S-5 rockets and bombsight all by yourself. Creating a new weapon within the DCS world is no little feat and it's up to BST to make a decision whether or not to do it.

Might also be temperature related, GFX card needs to work very hard and eventually throttles down, causing lower FPS. It might even shut down if it reaches a critical temperature?

Found this in the DCS World forum: check out the co-pilots panel :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=183521 There is also a video: ${1}

It's a video relating to the voice checklists, nice to see the GPS in there :)

Ranger79 Base Objects Pack (Hesco's + others)
Looney replied to Ranger79's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
It works in 1.5.6 and I used it this week. As the codebase of 1.5 and 2.0 are at the same level now, I don't see why it wouldn't work. -
NATO Ground Service Equipment Request Thread
Looney replied to Sport's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Not really NATO but the plastic modelling community has a wide range of different equipmetn out here. With some google-fu and asking around you might get pictures of the real stuff. For example: http://www.hobbylinc.com/hasegawa-u-s-aerospace-ground-equipment-set-plastic-model-military-diorama-1:72-scale-35006 http://www.hobbylinc.com/hasegawa-u-s-aircraft-weapon-loading-set-plastic-model-military-diorama-1:72-scale-35005 -
The 132nd might offer you what you need, feel free to poke around on http://www.132ndvirtualwing.org We have KA50, Mi-8 and A10c pilots as well as CA controllers and JTACs.

Mi8 Noob, help with VRS
Looney replied to noisy_lightning's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
When entering translational lift, it is important to add copious amount of collective to keep from entering VRS, you can easily go from 25% to 70% in order to stabilize her. Once in VRS adding more collective doesn't help, it makes it even worse, use the cyclic to gain either forward or sideways momentum to get into " fresh" air and add collective to slow your descent rate, hopefully in time before hitting the ground. -
Don't forget that the current bug where DCS Simpleradio, all be it a fantastic program, doesn't go well when multiple frequencies are used a the same time. In larger, coordinated events with multiple communication nets, when two people talk on different frequencies, DCS simpleradio, presently, is not giving the fidelity of hearing both streams correctly unlike Universradio. So if your wingman is talking to you in one ear, and the ATC or JTAC in the other ear, it works fine with UR but not with SRS. Hopefully, this will get solved in the future as well as the integration of SRS in LOTATC.
-
Most servers use Teamspeak 3 for their communications. If you want to use it within DCS, you'll need a plugin, usually UniversRadio. DCS Simpleradio standalone can also be used without the need for Teamspeak. You'll find all these programs with google and in the Mods and Apps part of the forum.

On a side note, I use the same pedals but have removed the center indent and spring, it makes live a lot easier in the Mi-8 as you can simply let the pedals be where they are instead of having to put pressure on them all the time.

Are you planning a collective-like stick instead of a throttle quadrant for us rotor-heads?

wow, the amount of trimming going on is off the scale :)

Laser painting bugs cannot lock a target
Looney replied to FalconPlot16's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's most likely related to your PVI-800 still working. Disengage the waypoint mode on the PVI-800 and try again.
