  1. Prior to this new release the radio was not integrated into the Mi-8. Maybe that has changed, but I have not had a chance to try it out yet.
  2. I don't see a small figure tossing dog-tags off the stern. Will this be included at launch? :)
  3. Laser code cannot be changed on the ground with weight on the wheels if I am not mistaken. Also T = training mode (laser not firing) L = lasing target (missile/bomb will track) MRKR = Laser pointer from your TGP to the target that will be visible to anyone with Night Vision Goggles You need to cycle the MFD button #4 at the top when looking at the TPOD screen to change laser modes. Check out this video around minute 5 Also the engine won't start if the throttle is moved forward past the throttle cutoff. If you have DCS set to sync controls in the options, and your throttle axis is pushed forward when you enter the cockpit, your throttle may be moving out of the start position without you knowing it. When your Harrier doesn't start, make sure your throttle is at 0%, and click on the backside of the throttle handle to toggle the Throttle Cutoff. You should then see your Harrier start up. 4. According to Silicon Lottery (which sells guaranteed OC's)... As of 3/22/18, the top 88% of tested 8700Ks (delidded which drops temps 5-20*F) were able to hit 5.0GHz or greater. There are a lot of unhappy 8700K owners that would dispute your "5Ghz pretty easily" assertion. If you Google around, you will find that there is strong evidence to suggest popular review sites were given cherry picked 8700K's at launch. The only way to guarantee 5Ghz and up on all cores is with a pre-tested chip. Speaking for myself, I have always had bad karma when it comes to CPUs. The last time I got what people claim is the "easy overclock" it was on a Slot 1 Celeron 300A that ran at 450 many moons ago. The 8700K is a fantastic chip, and beyond a doubt the gaming king at the moment, but it isn't the sure thing people are lead to believe.
  5. I apologize for not responding to you sooner. I will PM you.

    Warthog FS

I purchased a WH from this seller earlier this year. No issues with the transaction and the WH arrived exactly as described. Works perfectly fine with no issues.
  7. Ryzen5/7 is extremely good. It crushes Intel i5/7 in multi-threaded apps, and you will save a couple hundred dollars on a CPU/MB combo. Single threaded performance trails Intel by 10-15% depending on what is being used to benchmark (and relative OC's). Very few games take advantage of multiple cores. So if you want the highest single thread performance for gaming, and you are willing to pay a significant amount more for that 10-15%, then you will be happier with Intel. If you stream, multi-task heavily with daily workloads, or run non-gaming apps that directly benefit from having as many cores/threads possible, you should really be looking at Ryzen.
  8. My Ryzen7 1700 @3.8Ghz (I could prob OC higher, but can't be bothered) on the stock cooler with a GTX1070 runs DCS with no problems. I get the same average FPS reported as other GTX1070 users (including running i7s @5Ghz) in and out of VR. They may get a handful of frames more, but the difference is really just bragging rights.
  9. If you are planning on streaming, do some research on the advantages of Ryzen7 over the i5/i7. One of the few cases where AMD is recommended over Intel is for streamers due to the benefits of having the most CPU threads possible (Ryzen7=16 vs i7=8 ). You need as many threads as possible to game and stream on the same box without impacting game performance. If you are set on Intel, then your should get the i7 for this reason.
  10. Intel > AMD for single threaded performance At this point in time DCS relies more on single thread performance, but that could change if ED retools for multi-threaded CPUs at some point down the road. The difference between the latest i5/i7 CPUs and Ryzen5/7 is 10-15% in gaming benchmarks depending on who's numbers you are looking at and how much of an overclock you can get (with Intel in the lead). The i5/i7 are crushed by the Ryzen in anything that takes full advantage of multiple cores, but since most games still rely on a single thread, you only get that advantage if you are streaming, and/or running other apps in the background while gaming. As far as GPUS go it is roughly this depending on what benchmarks you look at... GTX1070 < Vega56 < Vega64/GTX1080 < GTX1080ti
  11. Shadows, water, and civilian traffic settings seem to have the biggest performance hit with VR for me. (GTX1070). Lowering those items result in the biggest increase in VR.
  12. Have you tried changing the CMOS battery? That would be a cheap fix if that is the root cause of your clock problems.
  13. Another vote for the TM combo.
  14. Love my Ryzen7 1700 system. Runs everything I throw at it (including DCS) and I am only GPU limited (cheap 1070). If you have the money, the Intel system will benchmark higher, but it is really expensive to get that few percentage points advantage when you factor the CPU and MB cost differences.
  15. It sounds like you have an axis mapped to the throttle in the Huey that is set at or near zero when you enter the cockpit. That or the game isn't reading the position of the throttle when you enter the cockpit and is defaulting to zero. If you don't know already the throttle in the UH-1 is a twist grip on the collective. You can assign an axis on your HOTAS or use your mouse, or keyboard (Page UP/Page Down) to set it.

  17. Your best bet is to get a book on the P-38, or google around to learn about the differences. The "J" model was the first with the deep chin radiator openings under the props. http://acepilots.com/planes/p38_lightning.html has some of the info you are looking for.
  18. Definitely look at a Ryzen system. The bang of the buck (CPU/MB/Ram) with a Ryzen 1600X system is really unmatched by Intel. The money saved can be used to step up to a 1070/Vega56 and a monitor with G-Sync/FreeSync for better overall performance in DCS (and every other game out today).
  19. I would rank having some form of rudder control at a 10 on a scale of 1-10. For the most part you can fly jets without rudder, but if you lose an engine in the A-10C (or any other multi-engine aircraft), you will not be able to control it for long without some form of rudder input to offset the asymmetrical yaw forces. What are your control options/limitations? I am sure there is a way to work something out, or offer suggestions, if we knew more about your specific situation.
  20. ED has their faults (no software company is free from missteps and slipping timelines), but I will never forget how they stepped up to support the customers that invested into the DCS WWII Kickstarter. It is easy to find fault with the split development focus, but when the feces hit the proverbial fan, ED committed to taking responsibility and supporting their customer base. The current situation is not ideal (no one likes waiting), but if you take a step back and look at how much has been added to DCS in the past 3 years, it is really quite amazing how far things have come. Despite the bugs/flaws I am overwhelmed every time I launch DCS World and have to decide which module I want to sink some time into. If ED never put out another patch or update, I would still have years (if not decades) of study/playing/fun to invest into DCS.
  21. I have used CH products for more than 15 years with no issues. The company has not updated the hardware or software in years. Some people have problems with Windows 10 and the CH Control Manager crashing. I don't have this issue, but it is something you need to consider before buying. You don't have to use the control manager software, and CH devices work fine without it. CH is one of the lightest options. If light is a requirement, then you will not like the TM Warthog stick unless you modify it to lighten the spring tension. If I was in your shoes, I would buy a used CH FighterStick. It isn't a very good value if you pay full retail.
  22. I am only managing the CH Throttle Quad on Win10. Maybe that is why I am not having any issues?
  23. I have CH Control manager 4.55a installed and working fine on Win10x64 Creators Edition. I have not run into any issues.
  24. CH Manager works fine for me on the latest version of Win10x64. I use it to load a profile that reduces the jittering on my CH Throttle Quadrant axes. I have no issues running the app, creating profiles, loading them, calibrating, etc.
  25. The music is "The Streets of San Francisco" meets "Airwolf". My pants turned polyester just listening to it. True story.... The 2.4 inches of armor penetration really hits close to home....
