  1. It is possible your antivirus is causing resource contention with your virtual machine. See if you can white list the folder your vm sits in and exempt it from scanning to see if your performance issues go away. If you only use the vm for surfing, pick up a copy of Sandboxie. This is a great app that virtualizes any app run inside it, isolating the app and any files written inside the sandbox from the rest of your OS. It is perfect for surfing and opening suspect files, and you won't need the resource consumption of a vm.
  2. 40-60GB is more than enough for your OS if you are installing games/apps on another drive or partition.
  3. With Virtualization you need to run multiple HDDs and keep your VMs on a separate physical disk. No matter how many partitions you setup, you will have contention between your main OS and VMs if they are on the same physical disk. You also want to run as much RAM as possible for the same reason (contention for system resources). You should also set processor affinity to move your VMs to cores/threads 3-8 on your i7 as the first 2 cores are used by games. A 4-8GB video card (970, 980, 980ti, 1070, Radeon 480/580/Fury) and an SSD will give you the most bang for your buck.
  4. I am looking around and I think I might have found what you are looking for... File Location: \DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Cockpit\scripts\NavigationPanel\Device\init.lua
  5. Your PC specs show you running your CPU @4.6 with a 1080ti. You can't do much better than that if at all.
  6. +1 I have watched the videos several times, and I go back and review often. The effort and work put into making them is very much appreciated! :pilotfly::joystick:
  7. Intel owns the single thread performance crown, but 4 cores (i5) and arguably 8 threads (i7) is inadequate today (and moving forward) in every category except single threaded performance. My Ryzen7 system smokes the older i7 it replaced in every day use with multiple apps running. I can alt-tab out of games and have videos, music, manuals, etc running in the background with no hit to game performance. I won't win a benchmark war with the latest i5/i7 testing game performance, but I have yet to hit a performance roadblock in any game (including DCS and VR) that wasn't a GPU limitation (GTX1070)
  8. You and your team never cease to impress and blow minds. I knew nothing about the Viggen before it came to DCS, and now I am a huge fan. :pilotfly:
  9. Epic!!!! Amazing work, and I can't wait to try it out.
  10. I used one for more than 15 years, and I still have it. It soldiers on with no issues. I have zero complaints, and would never try to talk anyone out of getting CH products. In the last year I moved to the VKB Gladiator Pro, and a TM Warthog (for the stick handle). Both are upgrades in the overall feel, but I can honestly say the CH FighterStick is more than adequate for any simmers needs.
  11. Glad you are OK! Good luck with your current and future projects.
  12. The behavior you are describing sounds normal for CH products. In mapped mode the CH devices will be presented to Windows and games as "CM Device 1", "CM Device 2". etc. depending on how many devices/axes/etc. you have in the profile. In Direct Mode they will show up as individual devices with their product names (eg "CH Pro Throttle)". Check out the ch-hangar.com forums for more help and info.
  13. I am hoping that 2017 E3 events/news/stories/pictures/etc. will make it into future news updates. More Hype needed!!!
  14. If you are doing 32GB with 4 DIMMs, you will be speed limited to 2133Mhz. Anything above that is a crap shoot on whether or no you can boot and run stable. I love my Ryzen7 rig, and it has no issues with DCS. Just make sure you know the specs/limits before spending your hard-earned money.
  15. Please do not let a vocal minority dampen the enthusiasm to share development progress.
  16. GTX1070 and an SSD to install and load DCS (and other games from) would give you great bang for your buck.
  17. Curse you!!!! I avoided all the hype, and turned off the part of my brain that has leg-humped the F-14 since @1980. After watching this interview, I am all aboard the hype train!!!!!!

    Top Gun 2

The "conflict" in Top Gun was more about Maverick fighting the specter of his father's death and how it drove his actions than it was a shooting war with Russia. A smart writer would FFWD 20-30 years, and put Goose's son (all grown up and a mirror reflection of Maverick) in todays Navy competing for the Top Gun honors that his father died attempting to win. The age is about right for a "Top Gun" level front-line aviator. Writing in a real battle for an ending climax may be too over the top and cliche for a sequel, but it isn't impossible/implausible to pull off a dogfight with North Korea, China, Russia, or a former Soviet client state with modern fighters in inventory. Cruise/Kilmer/et.al. reprise their roles and show up in cameos along the way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy_Strike_Fighter_Tactics_Instructor_program
  19. Good seller. I bought his WH (from another post). Transaction was straightforward and shipping was very fast.
  20. Here is a link to a post with my solution. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3114140&postcount=3
  21. What is the ordering process?
  22. Same for me.
  23. I think you will get more bang for your buck adding 8GB of RAM, and a GTX1080/1080ti to your current rig. You are currently more GPU limited than CPU, and if VR is your goal this is doubly true.
  24. Which TV if you don't mind my asking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I got my yesterday as well. I sent an email to let them know I don't need a replacement after all.
