F14 displays on a second display? (f18 MFD style)
SVgamer72 replied to PSYKOnz's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Covered in this post... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3860417 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I still remember flying at night in the original Flanker (circa 1995). It was sublime and a real "moment" in flight-sim'ing for me. It would be nice to see a return of mind blowing lighting conditions. The maps are amazing, and deserve to look their best at any time of day.

Congrats!!! One of the best feelings in flight-simming.

Is there a way to move the kneepad location ?
SVgamer72 replied to FZG_Immel's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I have been playing with a OVGME/JSGME mod that moves the kneeboard to the top left corner if you are running a multi-monitor setup based on posts by other members of this form. Credit goes member Xtacy for figuring out how to work around the IC: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3793163&postcount=5 ***It is not as elegant or customizable as the Kneeboard builder by AlaskanGrizzly: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=129341 It is not fully tested yet, but it has worked in SP and MP for me during initial testing. Maybe it will work for others. Kneeboard_mod_top_left_corner.zip -
You need to shut Jester up ( A-A-8-2). Crash has been traced to voice files with an internal fix being tested according to HB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

[RESOLVED] DCS Crashing While Flying F14
SVgamer72 replied to TexasBread's topic in Bugs and Problems
So RIO required for MP until a patch is released? -
You need to switch to the open beta version until the F-14 is released on the stable branch. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=209158 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think anyone in this thread feels superior for cold starting. Speaking for myself I am just exercising one of the choices (that you correctly pointed out) that allows players to experience DCS on their own terms. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

+1. Why skip a major part of the DCS charm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you!!! I am a huge fan of your work with the MIG-19, and I really enjoy the module. I am very excited to see how it progresses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The MiG-21 is probably the hardest to be consistently successful in against 3rd and 4th gen fighters due to the extremely limited RWR and limited visibility out of the cockpit. The Viggen is an interesting option as you are limited to the within visual range, and only carry sidewinders (some people use Mavericks air-to-Air or the gun-pods for added machismo) Personally anything lacking a 3rd/4th gen RWR and good visibility is going to be the hardest, because you will be up against baddies with BVR capabilities if you opt for an “underdog” Ultimately get the plane you can’t wait to jump into and that will always put a smile on your face. The “best module” is the one you love the most and find the most rewarding personally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Click #4 (after zeroing out for your current location) and hold it on “Reset” until the flag clears. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I second this. Collectively an amazing group of people to fly with. Easy to jump into the action and coordinate with the side you join. The regulars keep the momentum going and the dynamic environment is like no other server. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is your best realistic settings in Special options?
SVgamer72 replied to pepin1234's topic in MiG-19 Farmer B
I use this setting. It isn't a huge change in visibility out the cockpit. Great to have the option though. -
Performance issue, help needed
SVgamer72 replied to ravenzino's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You could run Cinebench, 3dMark, Heaven benchmark, etc. and compare your results to other systems with similar specs. If your numbers are close, then you don’t have an issue, if they are low, you know there is something to fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Performance issue, help needed
SVgamer72 replied to ravenzino's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Your Skylake CPU is 3.4Ghz-4.0Ghz w/turbo, but you are down @20-30% clock for clock compared to Coffee Lake. Most people run 8th/9th gen Intel CPUs @5Ghz on average. That is a hefty difference in compute power (Ghz, and IPC Instructions Per Cycle). You are basically starving your top of the line GPU (which is why it is under utilized @15-25%). DCS is a very CPU intensive game, and until the code base changes, single threaded clock speeds (along with IPC, because raw Ghz isn't the whole story) will give you the biggest gains as long as you have a powerful video card, and you have that in spades. -
You could use an axis on the TDC (front of throttle typically used to slew), or a couple of buttons mapped to left/right rudder. It won't be ideal, but you could make it work.

Dear Heatblur, holy cow, what an amazing job!
SVgamer72 replied to TheHighwayman's topic in Heatblur Simulations
For my entire gaming life (back to Pong before the Atari 2600), I have had ADHD with regards to never sticking with one thing in a game. RPGs-I constantly change classes, Flight-Sims-I constantly change planes, Racing sims-I constantly change cars, etc. etc. I always want to try that other thing... In DCS I always buy every new module, learn to start it and fight in it, and then go back to rotating through the list as my mood changes. New modules usually get set aside pending needed fixes/updates in favor of more complete ones within a couple of days after launch. It's rare that a new module has a staring role in rotation until months past initial release. The HB Tomcat cured me of this overnight. Never before have I had such an emotional experience in gaming. Literally an epiphany, and that is no exaggeration. It's like I waited my whole life for the HB Tomcat, and it exceeds all expectations. My rotation list has a single item on it now, and I doubt that will change for a very very long time. Bravo HB!!! You literally changed my gaming life. -
[NO BUG]F-14B Nosewheel Steering Button not Active.
SVgamer72 replied to chuckgrimes's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think NWS won't work if you have the spoilers and anti-skid on. I am guessing this is to prevent accidentally having NWS activated when landing. (I am not a Tomcat expert by any means) -
Thanks Chuck for a wonderful guide (again), and endorsement. I haven't touched the C101 since 2015, but based on this post, I will give it another go. I will definitely benefit from learning better habits based on what you mentioned in your post.

FYI, Most large banks have an option to do wire transfers online. So while it is more steps, you don't have to physically go to your bank in all cases.

That didn't last long... We all wanted options to help resolve the limited supply and high demand. We really shouldn’t be complaining when an option (pre-order) is provided. It may not be perfect (...what most people want or are used to), but the option is there now, and we now have the choice to either go with it, or roll the dice on the re-stock cycle. Another thought (from someone who has worked closely with banking and retail systems)... Most payment systems (credit card, PayPal, etc.) often take a huge cut of each transaction via a percentage. Smaller merchants are often stuck between a rock and a hard place keeping prices reasonable and still covering their overhead and margins. Many opt out of taking specific forms of payment that are more extortion than value add due to processing fees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
