  1. While it might be cool to have, it certainly would not be worth ED's time to code it. Especially since it would be just a bunch of features that a vast majority of players would not use, even if they understood them. Face it, most people's idea of a camera, now days, is the one that is built into their phone. Opinion from another RL photographer.
  2. It would not be 'no checks'. It would be just like Starforce is now, since there is no evidence that Starforce checks periodically.
  3. Either way, 80% of those that voted chose 30, or more, days.
  4. Landing the Huey is far easier, too.
  5. If I were ED, I would not attempt this. With all of the variables involved there would be far too many people that would feel that it was not implemented correctly. A very large can of worms that is best left sealed on the bait shop shelf.
  6. The upgrade path will eventually make it to the current 'release' path. They might first release it to the Alpha branch, or they could put it out onto the Beta branch. Either way, eventually, it will make it's way to the Release branch. However, given the broad scope of the update, I would do a complete new install when it makes it to the Release branch. It may, or may not, be required but I suspect that it will be a good idea.
  7. Yes. Sorry, I should have followed the conversation better.
  8. That announcement was posted well before the poll and even before a moderator stated that the phone home period was under consideration.
  9. Overly complex and introduces more points of failure for the consumer. It also inhibits the new player, and they are the ones that most need to be nurtured not inhibited.
  10. With respect, compared to the Warthog, I don't find the 'Russian' sticks to be overpriced. The internals of those sticks are far superior to something like a CH or a Saitek/MadCatz/Logitech.
  11. While I agree, in principle, I also suspect that most that use Game Mode don't post here.
  12. If you feel the need to add USB3 ports, I can recommend the board that Oculus also likes. The Inateck works quite well with the setup in my sig. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPIMJEW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. I need that curved extension but a redesigned mount will be required. Hi, ho, hi, ho, it is off to the shop I go. :)
  14. Of course, that assumes that the owners can either write the requisite code, or have had it already written and can implement it themselves. A staff that has been informed of the dissolution of their employer is not the most motivated group of people. EDIT: Just noting that this train of thought, though relevant, is off topic and will likely be deleted.
  15. The problem with that is that once the company is out of business, and it is found that they did not do so, the user has no legal recourse since the company that made that statement no longer exists as a legal entity. This is like buying a product with a 'lifetime' warranty. If the company selling it ceases to exist then the lifetime warranty is rather meaningless.
  16. OK, quantum physics experts need to weigh in here. ;)
  17. Thanks for reporting your test results. Over the last seven years I have drifted away and back and never had an indication that my installation phoned home before being able to use it.
  18. It is worth noting that ED did not create this poll. This is the original opening post.
  19. Sure, since they are only data and not solid objects.
  20. Nice vids, however, they have no relevance to the OP.
  21. Three out of three times someone was too busy. I find that statistically unlikely.
  22. Yes, it is a good idea. I am curious, however, under what circumstances would a moderator have time to issue a warning but not have enough time to send a PM. The PM should not take more than 30 seconds.
  23. Somewhat OT, but have you read the EULA of any PC games that you 'own'. In almost every case, you only own a license to use it, which, under certain circumstances, can be revoked at any time.
