TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Wrecking Crew replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Yeah, Skate, me too :) Really, I don't need a message about exceeding the limits because the view stops, and I don't need a message when TrackIR is Paused because the lights on it turn red. The DCS messages are a distraction. WC -
[REPORTED]Mortars wont fire in 1.5.4
Wrecking Crew replied to gunterlund21's topic in Bugs and Problems
:-) You may have seen this post about Part Of Coalition Out Of Zone, in a simple mission test I found the problem associated with a Late Activated group, in that case a helicopter. WC -
Inexpensive cockpit options (Australia)
Wrecking Crew replied to hughlb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I made this 'cockpit' from 5/8" plywood. It has a 7-port USB hub underneath, for three connections - power, USB and an anti-static clip. The whole thing can be lifted off the desktop. WC -
Swapping player aircraft for static object and vice versa
Wrecking Crew replied to Looney's topic in Mission Editor
Guys, in all my years at mission building, AFAIK you can't swap out AI or Static Objects with Clients in the same parking space. WC -
Looking at it, first off I switched to Mist 4.1.61... Edit -- there is a newer Mist, getting that. I think it was the old Mist version - it is v4.3.73 now. I'm on DCS v1.5.4. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1622305&postcount=3 Those patrols around the airbase are going to mess with flight operations! WC

I made the original voice, engine and explosion recordings with my cell phone. Then I got help from folks for the mixing, and making the voices sound like they were coming over a radio. Here's a tip if you do it that ^^^ way, if you have a bunch of dialog for a person to record - have them keep going over and over with the dialog even if it gets screwed up, just keep recording it all in one session and keep track of the start and stop times of the parts you want to use,,, don't make a whole bunch of individual recording sessions from one person, IMO they are too hard to track. [REPORTED]Mortars wont fire in 1.5.4
Wrecking Crew replied to gunterlund21's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, it was saved on v1.5.4 yesterday late afternoon before I ran it. I'd moved two Blue Paladin groups closer to Kutaisi Airbase and set both to fire on the base and was within the ranging circle. Both groups pointed their barrels to the targets but never fired, and the darn Tunguska ate up a bunch of my attacking armor! See attached. WC -
TrackIR Behavior with 1.5.4 Release
Wrecking Crew replied to Flame's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I'm glad that the old TrackIR performance is back in place. I did adjust TrackIR axis curves to take the limits all the way out the the horizontal (left & right) limits. When I Pause TrackIR and when glancing around at the limits I see many many upper right messages about Head Tracking Disabled, or TrickIR Disconnected or whatever it says. These messages are false. [REPORTED]Mortars wont fire in 1.5.4
Wrecking Crew replied to gunterlund21's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hmmm, last night on the latest v1.5.4 two groups of Paladins would not fire... The mission was carried over from v1.5.3. WC -
Armor will engage enemy a/c, planes and helicopters, parked and flying, while enemy armor is shooting at them. Need to be able to controll armor to engage other armor instead of low-priority a/c. WC

v1.5.3 - Part Of Coalition Out Of Zone broken
Wrecking Crew replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
The Part Of Coalition Out Of Zone condition is still broken at v1.5.4, when Late Activated groups are in the mission (this was a condition in the original report, as well). In this simple test mission, the Condition Part Of Coalition Out Of Zone is broken when there is a helicopter with Late Activation! If the helicopter is not late activated then the Part Of Coalition Out Of Zone condition works properly. WC -
GTX 980 SLI vs GTX 980 performance.
Wrecking Crew replied to OziRekt's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
FYI WC -
yes, in your Saved Games folder in the DCS\Config folder, autoexec.cfg. WC
-
Used to be the labels were always off if Visible Before Start, glad to see it fixed. WC
-
I use Render3D=False on my server; it runs with an old GTX series 5xx card. This is the content of the ..\DCS\Config\autoexec.cfg - options.graphics.maxfps = 30 options.graphics.render3D = false if not net then net = {} end net.download_speed = 1024*1024 net.upload_speed = 256*1024 Back in the old v1 days I ran into a unit ceiling around 800, but not anymore. Some of my missions push that, even. WC
-
 Glad you got it resolved! WC
-
Look at the armor groups in this mission that have a -1 -2 or higher in their name, like RDR VGrp10-1 Armor. These get 'spawned' using regular events. WC
-
Visible Before Start (in v1.5.3) along with Late Activation will show the group in the mission. When the group is activated by an event, like with a Time More condition, the group will activate and head on its path. Before activation the group will not show its labels if Labels are On, nor will the group show in the F10 Map View and other units will not be aware of the group, but after activation then its labels will show and you will see it in F10 View. See the attached mission. WC

I ripped out SLI - sold one card already.
Wrecking Crew replied to rrohde's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I did the same last w/e. Removed the second GTX 980 Ti and get better clock freq and it runs comfortably cooler, and a solid 60 FPS. The second card went into my guest machine, replacing a GTX 680. WC -
Is my GTX 980 underperforming?
Wrecking Crew replied to Jacks's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Your settings screen looks to be from DCS v2? I'm still on v1.5. I was running SLI until last w/e when I pulled the second card out, because after an update the FPS went down and fluctuated from 47-54, don't know whether it was a graphics update or DCS that caused it, but I was done with having to reset the SLI profile after updates. The single card actually runs a bit better in clock freq and is in the mid 70°s instead of 80°s in SLI with the cards so close together. Yes, my frames are solid at 60 in DCS. I'll see what happens in the new version after v1.5 and 2.0 merge. No drops in FPS, I'm happy with it. -
Anybody know if there are mouse cursor settings in DCS? I want to reduce the size of the arrow because it blocks the Unit Type value in the Mission Editor. I've tried changing it in Windows but in the ME the shape always reverts back to the big blocky arrow (this is on a 4K monitor). WC

Is my GTX 980 underperforming?
Wrecking Crew replied to Jacks's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, Jacks, I'm running a GTX 980 Ti with a i7-6700K @ 4 GHz, no overclocking. DCS is running great at 60 FPS, the adapter is set to 60 Hz, running a Samsung 48" 4K TV JS9000. I have a second 22" monitor connected to this card, at 1680x1050, for TS and other stuff. WC -
Help THUSTMASTER throttle problem
Wrecking Crew replied to GoldAnimal4's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Calibrate it in Windows first. Then go to DCS Options Controls and examine the axis settings for limits. WC
