  1. Make sure the Group is not set to Late Activation or that it's Start Time (and days) is not later than the mission start. WC
  2. This is the important one. Grimes talks about Random and a Once trigger, like what you did -- http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117326&highlight=random+grimes What I said above about using Random and Once being OK was incorrect -- my answer kept nagging at me. WC
  3. Here's another conversation -- http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94198&highlight=random+grimes WC
  4. Post the miz and I can look at it. A year ago or so I made a Random test mission. Here is the thread, see my post in it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123626&highlight=random+wc WC
  5. If you use a Random() function on a ONCE type event then it should work. But if it is a Switched Condition or Continuous then after some time goes by the Random() will become True. I will use Random() on a Mission Start and set a flag to the value, like set Flag 4 to random 1-4. Then I use Flag(4) = x as a Condition for subsequent events. WC
  6. My understanding is that Late Activated groups are already in the mission and on the battlefield. But, if you use a script to create/clone a group mid-mission then that is a new element. WC
  7. For MP (but not SP :) ) you can use Load Mission which will restart the same mission or load another. I guess you could have both and depending upon SP or MP one of them would work. You do not need Mission Goals, but that can be used to win points that can lead to a win/loss determination. Usually I will define my own win/loss conditions and once met I'll start a countdown, typically 5 minutes, until the mission reloads. I will broadcast a message every minute during the countdown so folks know what is about to happen. WC
  8. That screenshot was after a repair and unload of all weps and fuel. It was my intention to not foul the runway at Vaziani. Let's get this bird back up in the air! WC
  9. Get the ground crew to fire up their tractor and pull me out of this turf! WC
  10. You can use Witchcraft from [FSF]Ian -- http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126516&highlight=witchcraft WC
  11. You can set the ability of the SAM group, too. If you set it to Excellent, prepare for a tough battle. WC
  12. They all need to be in the same group to work under regular conditions. There is a script to coordinate SAM activity across the battlefield, but I don't use it and after a brief search I did not find it -- I thought the thread was in Mission Builders Corner. WC
  13. I don't really know what that dispersion delay is for, although I have shortened it from 300 (seconds?). You could do a work around, like -- Set an event to detect if the group has damage, ie one or more units gets destroyed. Set up a timer and on conclusion set the group's ROE to Hold. I was playing in CA last night and saw that it was ROE = Hold that allows a stuck group to resume. WC
  14. If you want to use Combined Arms, you can set the group's ROE & Alert to Hold & Green and they should start moving again, right away. I *think* that the group may also resume if the enemy is destroyed or leaves, after some time has gone by, like a few minutes. Welcome to the DCS Forums, kingofland! WC
  15. If we go around saying things like "see the laser on target" then people will get confused; IMHO, of course. We can only "see" the Pointer, and that with NVGs. WC
  16. Play with the Reaction To Threat in Advanced Waypoint Settings. You can set it to not react. WC
  17. Note: The Pointer is not the Laser. :)
  18. Oooops! Forget what I said... :)
  19. It depends upon the mission. For instance, Witches Hollo is up now and that has Blue JTAC. I was in there yesterday and (finally, it's easy) stumbled on the M1-A1 target lock capability. Man, that was fun, standing off at 4,000 meters (feet?) and locking up enemy armor and buildings, and getting hits on first shots with both HE and AP. WC
  20. I like EVGA products. I will call them on their pre-sales support line and talk to one of their knowledgeable folks about what I want to use the system for and how much I'm prepared to spend. http://www.evga.com/support/ Watch out for the video card length vs the case size. Some vid cards are 11", and mid-tower cases may only take up to a 10.5" card. WC
  21. I don't use the Mission Goals feature very much. I'll usually define my Red & Blue win conditions by Group Dead or Coalition Out Of Zone type of events. But I do have a mission where Blue has to get to 100 points, or more, to win -- in that mission there are a bunch of 5 point objectives, and some bigger objectives worth 25 points or so. Once Blue gets > 99 then they win. Recently I added more of the 5 point conditions so there are ~20 of those now and that's why I made the comment above. WC
  22. That Mission Goals window needs an overhaul. Get a bunch of lines in there and it is not easy to add more, and they can't be sorted. WC
  23. I disable Tbilisi by activating bunkers right at the intersections of the taxiways and runways and immediately follow that with an Explosion On Unit that blows up the bunkers and that leaves a broken runway with debris that looks like a Durandal hit it. WC
  24. Post the mission file and I'll take a look. Welcome aboard Mongo. You too Wrench. WC
