  1. That's from the procedure described in the CW museum manual. When it's off, the 115VAC bus is not powered, showing 0 volts.
  2. Hello folks, The other day I got shot pretty badly and both my generators were inoperable. So, I decided to follow the emergency procedure described in the Cold War Museum Hind 24 manual to power the AC and DC buses from the APU generator: 1. Started APU. 2. Started APU generator. 3. Switched ON Power from Battery switch 4. Switched ON PO-750 (115V) inverter 5. Switched ON AC External Ground Power switch 6. 115 VAC BUS reads 115V 7. DC Rectifier BUS 1 and 2 both read around 30 Volts 8. DC Rectifier 1 reads 30 Volts, Rectifier 2 reads 0 Volts I cannot read the voltage on the 36VAC buses so, not sure if they are powered. In this setting, the vertical gyros do not work, and neither do the autopilot channels, although I have both the DC buses, and the 115 VAC bus powered. I tried this same procedure at cold start, and with the ground power connected, gyros work. But not when powered from the APU generator + 115V inverter. I have also noticed that when ground power is connected, generator channels (A-B) (A-C) (B-C) all show around 200 volts, although the generators are off. My end goal is to be able to operate the autopilot channels in the event of both generator failure during flight. Most likely I'm missing a step, a switch or something in the procedure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  3. Is it possible to realign a toppled gyro during flight, or must the heli be stationary on ground?
  4. So, squadron plane limit is dysfunctional it seems. I'll try limiting money and see how it will help, but that would also break the whole Liberation concept I'm guessing. Nevermind, it was my mistake. I hadn't noticed that some squadrons have multiple wings and must set limit for all of them. So, all good now, thanks
  5. Hello, I am new to Liberation. I tried to limit the number of aircraft per squadron at campaign start, but the game keeps generating crazy number of planes despite the limits I set. For example, I limit the number of planes to 4 for a squadron, but the generated mission has 40+ of that aircraft. As a result, the performance is really very bad. I'm on a i510600k + RTX3070, and I get about 10 FPS. Is this normal for Liberation or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help
  6. The perceived problems are caused by controller settings and limitations of the equipment available to us simmers. In other words, the autopilot/controls dampening modeling in the sim is accurate, but you need a set of real KA50 pedals to experience it. So, it is an unsolvable problem it seems.
  7. @BIGNEWYWill FC2024 bring any other changes/improvements/bug fixes to FC3, other than the addition of 3 new aircraft?
  8. Also, it is worth noting that Petrovich, obviously, disregards objects which have already been killed. But sometimes, 'killed' equipment may graphically appear intact far out, and you must fly close enough to see that it is actually destroyed (charred black). I have found that this was my issue with assuming that Petrovich 'cannot spot anything.' Something to keep in mind.
  9. Great photos. Looking at these, Foxy Lady by J. Hendrix is playing in the back of my head
  10. I have exactly the same issues as the OP regarding Petrovich failing to spot targets even at very close range. Mi24 is practically worthless in combat because of this issue. EDIT: So, I setup a test mission today, labels on (dots only), in winter, cloudy weather with moderate winds, no fog, no precipitation, at 10:00 am in the Caucasus. I placed 3 sets of 4 M60s at Gudauta airstrip. Coming in from the west over the sea, Petrovich spotted all of the targets about 10 kms out, and correctly identified them at around 7 kms. So, I dunno really. Sometimes it fails to spot targets 500 meters ahead, and at others, it has eagle eyes. I wish there was a clear description of the spotting algorithm for Petrovich so we can know what to expect in a given situation.
  11. Thanks for the info @Q3ark @Hiob. I must have missed that part. So, we'll see how it turns out in May. Fingers crossed.
  12. Who's complaining? And read my first sentence. I don't have problem waiting. Clear now? Based on their statement, this feature has eaten a lot of development time. And I'm stating my opinion that their time and effort would have been used better elsewhere. @Panny You might be right. I'm not using VR so never thought about that.
  13. Waiting is no problem. But, how is looking up things in the manual while in game any better than just alt-tabbing out, looking up whatever it is I want to look up, and coming back into the game? That's what I do and have no problem with it whatsoever. And we already have the kneeboard, and it is very easy to integrate PDF files into it. I don't see how the purported benefit justifies the time and effort invested in this marginally useful feature, and at the cost of missing a deadline and tarnishing their reputation.
  14. Strike Fighters 2 is helping a bit with the f4 itch, but for how long? Damn, this will be the best module ever.
  15. I'll be damned. Never would have suspected the wheel. Deleted the darn dll and the problem resolved! Thank you much !
  16. Hello, thank you. I have a budget steering wheel, could that be i? I have no other controller attached that has force feedback. What do you suggest I do? Just delete that dll or completely uninstall the driver for the wheel?
  17. Hi, after the latest update, DCS no longer works for me. I get the following window. This happens every time I try to run the game. My crash log is attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dxdiag.txt dcs.20231118-145001.log dcs.20231118-145001.dmp dcs.20231118-145001.crash
  18. This exchange has become irrevelant to the topic at hand, but just to indulge you one last time: I never said anything about mistakes or poor wording in the manual. Those are your words. On the contrary, KA50 has a particularly well-written manual. But sometimes the reader may need a little more familiarity with ED's style to tell what exactly is modelled, and what is not from the information provided in manuals. The fluctiations you'd see in compass during flight, not only in mig21, mi8, but in all the other modules (assuming that you are actually referring to the compass, and not the HSI), will be due to bank or pitch angle, and will settle down after coming back to level flight. Since we were talking about INU alignment on the ground, I don't see how it is relevant In any case, magnetic deviation due to interference from metal objects is not modelled in the game. but believe how you wish, false as it may be. I explained you a method to very easily verify it, but obviously you have no interest in such verification. And as regards your other irrelevant (to the topic at hand) comments, I'll let you believe what you want, facts notwithstanding. I'm not interested in further exchange with you. Have a great day.
  19. I'm using an old Saitek X55 hotas. A controller USB issue was my first thought also, but I checked controller settings and my controller was working normally. And also, the keyboard flight controls were not responding also. So, I think controller can be excluded as a source of the problem.
  20. Not to be argumentative, but the manual also contains general information about the systems for information only, and not all of them are modelled in the sim. Believe me, I've been around since Flanker 2.0 times (way before LoMac), and had Black Shark since version 1, and I can assure you that magnetic interference from metal objects is not modeled in this sim. You can easily verify this: bring your mobile phone closer to the compass and see if it causes interference (joke). Seriously though, to test this, you can set your chopper close to another chopper (a huge metal object that should normally cause magnetic interference) and see if the magnetic compass moves or is disrupted in any way.
  21. Unless power lines or very large metal objects are close by, metal objects within the aircraft are more relevant for magnetic compass correction. There is no downside to using magnetic inu adjustment when on the ground as long as you've not landed on a big metal ship or sitting under power lines. In any case, magnetic interference from metal objects is not modeled in the sim, hence a non-issue
  22. In the general game settings, set avionics language to English. Changing cockpit language only changes cockpit labels. Avionics language in the general game settings is what you need.
  23. Actually, I was looking to find info on whether ED made an announcement as to why they are revising the engine model, and what specific changes they intend to introduce by revising it.
  24. As of now (after ~24 hours), authentication is still not working and forcing off-line mode. Any timeline on when this will be fixed?
