Changing the LED status for the landing gear on CP#2
durka-durka replied to rapid's topic in VIRPIL Controls
That's brilliant. How do you like your stick? Really considering throwing some $ down on the Constellation Alpha w/ Warbird. -
Hear hear! Agreed!

I have extremely slow download, between 457kb/s to 0.5mb/s. Made sure Windows auto-tuning was on (it already was) and no change. I have attached my autoupdate_log.txt file for reference. It's always been like this, but never this slow. Any help is greatly appreciated. autoupdate_log.txt

Troubleshooting download connection problems
durka-durka replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Installation Problems
Can you please explain what we are supposed to be doing exactly? I have no idea what a tracert is, but I googled it and found it. That said, you're telling us to collect the results of the page (i'm assuming the debug tools page?) and the Tracert. What are we supposed to do with those results, exactly? Also, the config file you want us to place in the root directory...do we override the file if one is already there? -
Can updates be stopped and re-started from same point?
durka-durka replied to minimi66's topic in Installation Problems
How are you getting it to pause? Are you hitting "cancel"? That's the only option I see. -
Although I flew Flaming Cliffs what...10yrs ago maybe? I'm relatively new to DCS. I do believe an updated F-15E with clickable cockpit and all the other goodies would be an insta-buy for me. I'm enjoying the F-16, but I imagine the Mudhen would be top tier. I honestly highly doubt if it will ever come out. RZB could really use some lessons on the maximum effective timing for distributing hype when it comes to human psychology.

I really wish that F-15E would release.

Haha I'm eagerly awaiting my MSFS2020-style slideshow, but it will be beautiful!

How can I make my Cougar MFD buttons easier to find in VR?

And amazingly enough, a new youtube video just came out about this exact thing: (196) DCS: Using MFDs with VR - YouTube -
How can I make my Cougar MFD buttons easier to find in VR?
durka-durka replied to durka-durka's topic in Thrustmaster
Thanks guys. I ended up putting a small dab of super glue on the center buttons. This dries rough and seems (so far) to work really well. -
Title says it all. Sorry if this is a repost. I find that while I'm in VR, I will fumble around the MFD to try to find the right button. It usually starts with feeling for the gain/sym/brt/con buttons first, then going over or down. I was hoping to get suggestions from the community on how you have made your buttons easier to feel while not being able to see them. Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions.

But why Syria over, say, Iraq? Iraq has a great mix of desert and mountains, plus cities. Just no real access to the sea unless you count the South. But there's lots of historical interest.

Just wondering if there are any commemorative flights scheduled for June 6 over Normandy, seeing as how there's a new map and everything? I don't have any of the WWII stuff, but would love to watch a streamed flight.

Too bad we can't buy optical inserts to fix the sweet spot.

That sounded like a personal add, lol. Anyway, I've played DCS on/off over the years but never got serious until recently when I got a VR headset. 40yo Army vet, but have been a lifelong aviation enthusiast. I currently own: - F-18 C - F-16 - Persian Gulf - Super Carrier Also... - EST Time Zone I would like to find a semi-regular group who is semi-serious/casual who I can learn to fly and form up with to become a better pilot/teammate. I'm a school teacher, so summer is the perfect time for me. I get extremely busy in the Fall, but should be able to find time. If anyone is recruiting and thinks I might be a good fit, please message me or reply. Thanks!

Artificial lighting doesn't light up jets?
durka-durka replied to durka-durka's topic in Mission Editor
I was just at Dubai International and parked under a light. There were some 777s there that were lit up and cars driving by in the city, yet the static Hornet absorbed the light. Funnily enough, I had another hornet crash nearby and the flames lit the hornet up. -
Artificial lighting doesn't light up jets?
durka-durka replied to durka-durka's topic in Mission Editor
Weird. It works in some of the civilian airports and planes, and works when cars drive under street lights, but not for jets. Oh well. -
Trying to place an F-18 under a lightsource (parking lot lights) at night in the Persian Gulf map, but it remains a shadow no matter where I put it. Is there a way to light up these jets or other objects? Here's an example of what I'm dealing with. Any way to get this lit?

App sent!

That's the weird thing. Sometimes it pops back on the desktop. Other times I have to go back into File Manager and create a new shortcut.

I'm using Windows Mixed Reality for Steam VR. My process is that I open WMR first, then go to DCS Open Beta shortcut icon on my desktop. Problem is, it disappears and gets automatically deleted every time I do it. Any idea why this happens?

Thanks! I'll try that today. I noticed the basic settings are seen in-game, but the T.A.R.G.E.T. settings are on another level, with 3 curves for each access. I may not try to go there until I get a better understanding lol.

OverKill's F/A-18C Tutorials
durka-durka replied to Pac-Man's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Tutorials
I've only seen the TACAN video and some of the nav video, but these are really well done and helps me understand much better than the game tutorials. Thanks! Can you do aerial refueling or basic formation flying some day? -
Anyone have recommended curve settings for the T.16000m stick? I just got it and have been fiddling around and want to make sure I have the best adjustments for it.
