  1. DCS world will automatically check for an update once per day. You can force it to update via the update option in your start menu.
  2. I have the x52 and its a decent stick. I upgraded the A-10 stick and wont be going back. As others have mentioned, it just feels right and works well with the helicopters in the game too. Its not great at super fine movements/ adjustments, but they are easily overcome with a bit of trim or rudder movement anyways.
  3. Keep in mind that its still in beta and it was JUST released. They will get the kinks worked out. Give it time. Also, the Huey was released by Belsimtek, NOT ED. DCS is the name of the game, ED (Eagle Dynamics) created DCS.
  4. As far as the heat bloom showing on the right side, I would say that is probably wrong. Although, to be honest, the last time I looked at the heat blooms for a single engine, both engines were putting out heat blooms. Its been a while. I would double check your start up checklist too. I noticed you never turned on the EKRAN transmission power switch when you started the helicopter. As for the fuel gauge, It is working. The bug appears to be that when during a cold start, the fuel gauges are stuck on the amount of fuel in the tanks when you start the game. you can verify the fuel gauge is working by pressing the fuel gauge test button just to the right of the fuel gauge. Two yellow lights will come on and the needles will move all the way to the "8" position and then back to where they were. I noticed you got hung up on the SA-TLF power switch. It was disabled in 1.2.4. It did not function anyways. Its for the satellite communications power switch which our poor little helicopter is not equipped with... at least the version we have is not.
  5. Alright, I wanted to be certain before really posting any information. The Shark is equipped with a LWR(Laser Warning Receiver). It will detect incoming laser energy and cause red lights to light up when its detected. The version of the Shark we have modeled in the game is not equipped with a MWS(Missile Warning System). There is a switch in the cockpit for this, but it is not functional. From what I have been able to find through an exhaustive search of the forums and reading the flight manual, again, is that the shark cannot detect IR, thermal, or radar guided munitions. Thus, you will not get the "under attack" warning from "Betty". This thread here has some good information and some great links about this subject. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99021&highlight=LWR
  6. Check the type of munition that was fired at you. I believe there are no warning systems for some types of weapons systems. Its late and I cant remember which. I know the shark can detect laser guided munitions, but I am not sure about heat seeking and infrared systems. I will have to look at this in depth tomorrow.
  7. You can load the nav info and switch to EGI before the INS if fully aligned, But the EAC will not arm until the INS alignment says 4.0.0.8 on the CDU. Basically, as NoCarrier mentioned above, you need wait out the 4 minutes for the alignment of the INS system.
  8. Im glad my missions are still helping so many learn the shark :)
  9. Any news on the CDU backing plates? I tried to send Linden a PM but his box was full.
  10. "Hey Stampede, how 'bout a poem?"
  11. See my signature and download the interactive training missions I created. They are similar in style to the A-10 ones. I don't know why the videos you had installed before wont re-install.
  12. Try doing a repair via the start menu in the ED section.
  13. Try launching a mission or joining a multiplayer server. If you have not already done so, manually download and install the updated a10 module.
  14. The key you are using is bound to the account your friend used to purchase it and therefore it can only used on that account. Your friend must submit a help ticket to move the key to your account. Keep in mind, it can take a few days to hear back from support.
  15. Its still there, but It has never actually worked for me.
  16. Not my knowledge, could you explain why you want to have two installs? It might help better come up with a solution.
  17. Per serial key, you have 10 activations, and 10 de-activations. If you ever run out of activations, you will automatically be granted another activation 30 days AFTER you used up your last one. SO, technically, you cant ever run out :)
  18. Hmm, I am not sure why its not detecting the install. Make sure you downloaded the correct missions for instance there is a difference between BS1 and Black Shark 2. My advice would be to download the file that Korn pointed out, or the missions in my signature. The official ones you are trying to download are only videos. You can not interact with them only watch them. I created some interactive training missions that follow and are based on those official videos where you can interact and actually control the air craft.
  19. Thanks Korn, I worked hard on those :P Its ok to use the menu integration. It works just fine. I tested it on 1.2.3 and it works perfectly.
  20. Please clarify, what file are you trying to install? The training missions, or the module?
  21. You can still play without updating by telling it not to update. The hash mismatch is an error in the download. Not sure how to fix it. But, as Sorin suggested, you could manually download and install world 1.2.3 and all the modules yourself again as a work around. You should not need to deactivate or reactivate anything if you do this though.
  22. Double check to make sure you downloaded the correct module. If you bought the upgrade, then you need the upgrade module, if you bought the full version then you need the full version. After you have verified you have the correct module installed, if you are still having issues, then you have a bad registry key. Follow EtherealN's instructions here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94531&highlight=invalid+hardware+code
  23. I believe the Mustang was created for the "Flying Legends" series of DCS aircraft which would focus on non modern types of aircraft, not as a toy or training aid. Im sure they have other "Flying Legends" type of aircraft under development we dont know about. The Mustang is just the first one and eventually, we will have others.
  24. DO NOT install BS1 into DCS world.... Its a separate install. Install it any place else and then install the upgrade module from the DCS site for DCSW. The module will automatically detect the DCSW install and install itself in the correct location.
