  1. The one on Mudspike is the same one that's been there, last updated in September.
  2. Down by me, there's an F-86D up on a mount which has been there probably my entire 51 years of life. Not as "new" looking as yours. I'll see if I can snap a pic this weekend. Would love a "D"...
  3. Watch your Gs when carrying missiles. I seem to lose mine all the time.
  4. It sucks. When entering a thread, I cant' go directly to the last page of the thread and have to start at the first. Navigation is clunky too.
  5. The good old days when precision application of dumb bombs was the thing.

    51 Started with Jet back in the late 80s and getting Dynamix's A-10 with my first computer. Had almost all the sims of the 90s. Can't believe I lived through the graphics back then.
  7. When you're carrying several pods, you can afford to be rather "free" in their use. :) Using the laser, I actually dropped an LGB for the first time off the Hawg. Learn the basics, and the other things get easier.
  8. I regularly cap off 5 on my passes. Watch all 5 hit. Don't know if I trust one to cap a light armored vehicle.
  9. With the mileage I built up, I actually paid $3.51 for it. :)
  10. Yeah, the helmet is its own animal, but Wags' video does that pretty well. And the radio too...
  11. Thx. Dumb question, I know...
  12. So.... Is it safe to assume that apart from the new weapons coming to the "II" module, that running everything else should be about the same as the previous A-10 module? I'm kinda assuming so, so I can dive in.
  13. I've always been partial to the Navy birds. Would like to fly these off the carriers. Back in the late 1980, the MN Air Guard flew these out of Duluth. They had the D model. There was an optimum prime spot to watch right outside the gate. Up close even. We used to watch them for hours. Night time takeoffs were spectacular too. Often times they were up with gun pods and another would carry a target drogue. Guessing they went over Lake Superior to shoot at it.
  14. This has been my dream plane for the last 45 years. I'd pounce on it. Back when we played J.D. Webster's boardgame Air Superiority /Air Strike, my friend and I intended to have an issue-solving matchup between the F-4 and the F-104. Never got to it...
  15. "The Final Countdown" :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
  16. I'm wondering if anyone has every tried toss-bombing things like JDAMs. Let's get real for a minute. Against a first-world opponent, you're not going to be loitering around at 20,000 feet casually dropping JDAMs or LGBs on an opponent. The SAM threat would solve that fairly quickly. I remember some time ago, the Reapers did a toss of an LGB over a mountain and hit a target that way. Was pretty entertaining to watch. Overall, I'm just curious how everyone attacks ground target in a fairly high-threat environment. I pulled this off some time ago, trying to toss some cluster munitions. ${1}
  17. I've been seriously spoiled by the Hornet. A little more tricksy to use them off the Falcon. I'm starting without the targeting pod, to keep it simple. I have issues actually locking the D. Don't think TMS Up does it.
  18. I flew the crap out of that sim back then. My friend and I would both be at the keyboard. One flying and the other operating DIANE.
  19. Love the older aircraft. Precision applier of dumb bombs.
  20. This particular variant had the fixed guns, so the Pilot would control those anyway.
  21. I used to watch the Duluth guys all the time back when they had the F-16A ADC variant. You could park right outside the gate and the taxiway from the hangers to the runway was 50' past the fence. Perfect view. That's all gone, now. Before the 16s came along, they still had the F-4D, and that was something to see. I think they flipped right around 1990.
  22. You do realize it put out a whopping 5,910 lbs of thrust?
  23. Yep. Really the only way to do it.
  24. Actually... Falcon 3.0
  25. Reapers did this a while back. Tossed the GBU over a mountain and it snagged the laser spot. I think they used F-16s for it.
