  1. All units are being improved, one at a time. I expect the Humvee to be one of them soon. EDIT: But just to clarify: DCS is a poor driving simulator, don't expect a nice cabin.
  2. Haha, dammit, I really mixed them up. :D
  3. Last week I noticed the following bug: The TACAN and ILS systems still seem to work when they are turned off. Steps to reproduce: - start any mission - set an ILS and TACAN frequency you can receive (wait for the sound) - switch ILS and TACAN to OFF - listen for the sound, it is still there I will try to reproduce soon, didn't have the time to check if it only happens under special conditions.
  4. It is a problem of the AI damage model, and it applies to all planes. As a player when hit by a missile the fight is over.
  5. Everyone who has ever been in a turn fight with it hates it with a passion. :D There is a reason it was produced from 1933 to 1943!
  6. Stability Augmentation System. :)
  7. Uh, what? They post progress updates roughly once a month here on the forums. EDIT: Also I think the I-16 is a great first plane for a 3rd party: armed, iconic, widely used, rather simple concerning its systems. EDIT2: The I-16 will be a wonderful enemy for Polychop's Stuka, or a future Bf-109E (I kinda hope for one).
  8. Yeah, Snooker is cool. I just watched the rest of the Robertson/Holt Match. And poor Peter Ebdon. I like his style of play (which often reminds me of my all-time favourites Steve Davies and Stephen Hendry), but he had a really bad day. I also watched the first session of Zhang vs. Hawkins. Zhang looked quite strong but by the end of the session Hawkins leads 3-6. We'll see how the rest of the match will look like. :)
  9. 1.1 released! Now with proper Win64-Bit support and many other things. :) http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/developerarticles.html/kerbal-space-program-11-turbo-charged/
  10. Yeager just doesn't realize it could be important. He has never flown a plane that could maneuver at high AoAs. In those 3rd, 4th and later generation planes your ass feeling is worth almost nothing anymore. Reading his biography IIRC he knows that, and he admits that for "blessed with skill Hillbillies" like him a modern plane is hard to fly. You have to be more of a computer geek than a old school pilot. Guys like him (I think he once called himself "too dumb to have fear") were perfect in earlier times but not nowadays. You just need different skills now. Also he is kind of a jerk. He also admits that himself. But he is a funny guy.
  11. Hope you are all well, Razbam!
  12. Well, they are "volumetric", but when you fly close to them you see that the 2D sprites they consist of turn to you direction. It looks weird. But yeah, they are being reworked. That's one of the graphic improvements that I would call absolutely necessary.
  13. Those look stunning, really. Would love to have them in the sim.
  14. Some good stuff in it. Will test soon. :)
  15. I'd also be interested how the support will look for newer versions of the map (mesh-wise for example). Will it be adjusted?
  16. I'd like to use weather more in my SP missions as well. Same goes for MP missions. Things really keeping you off it (no particular order): 1. No proper handling of weather conditions by ATC 2. No proper weather effects modeled yet 3. AI can see through clouds 4. clouds not synchronized in MP 5. clouds look bad Numbers 3 and 4 make every weather condition involving clouds suck in both SP and MP.
  17. Definitely. Switching to NAV stops the alignment. If you are in a hurry during startup, try requesting ground power and turn on the CDU early. That way the alignment has finished once you have done the rest of the startup. Saves a few minutes.
  18. Yeah, that's cool! Thanks!
  19. Yeah, both in good and bad ways. Sometimes I get depressed reading stuff we posted years back, because some important stuff that was "planned" back then is still not in sight now, or still only "planned", but then I see that at least other things are now reality. Not necessarily those I would call important, but I guess that's the way life goes. Put some bourbon in your coffee cup and the problems go away. I still hope for 2.5 to bring at least some new goodies for the simulation environment.
  20. I think that's because it didn'T feel like a big step for many users, especially those that were flying the A-10C before. The first version of DCSW felt almost the same as the last BS1 and last A-10C versions. You guessed 2009 because that was when Black Shark was released.

    I-16

Thanks Plexus! Your updates may be small, but they show us you are still track, and they look nice. You are doing everything right. :)
  22. I think that's a good idea. With the many VR devices being created now a subforum would be cool. :)
  23. True. (carebear mode on.) But please, guys, don't let this thread deteriorate into one that has to be closed by the moderators again. It just will make everyone sad and/or angry. If we keep it serious I am sure the devs will lend us their ear. :) (carebear mode off.)
  24. Agree. A video is a lot of work, and IMO not really necessary. But a few words about the ongoing AFM testing here and there, and perhaps a single screenshot (for example a close-up of some weapon panels of the CC or a external shot while the plane spins) would be nice and are not a lot of work.
  25. At least we have a sign of life from two weeks ago (the manual was posted on Facebook). So I guess there is still progress behind the scenes. Yeah, I know... To be honest even I am running out of morale-boosting statements by now. But perhaps we are not 100% fair, because there are other 3rd party studios as well who regularly post nothing at all for more than two weeks.
