  1. Strange. I just tested it and it seems it worked. I even thought it auto-locked a target.... But yeah, now that you mention it. I probably switched to the Magic and confused the Magic lock with the radar lock... :music_whistling:

    Radar lock

    I just noticed the close air combat modes auto-lock now, that's cool! :) But I also have a question about the radar locking: I noticed that when I am in STT mode (like for a 530 launch) and I switch to the gun I get that nice round radar-guided pipper with the range and so on. Ok. But when I am in the close air combat mode and I switch to the gun I cannot lock the target. I get the standard gun symbology with the two lines and the snake, which are not guided by radar if I understood correctly. Am I doing something wrong?
  3. Hehe, kinda reminds me of the raid group I was in back in the days when I played WoW. Sometimes it was awful. Still good times. :)

  5. Yeah, the AI does... strange things. But that's not only the WWII planes. I practised dogfighting in the Mirage against an AI MiG-21 and it also does stuff that I cannot do when flying that plane. The AI's flight model is a lot simpler than what you have, especially concerning stall and spin characteristics, and then they do not overheat their engines, they won't ever flameout (except when running out of fuel), and they can exceed the G limits for sensors (such as radar) and weapons.

  10. I think the most 'water hammer' reports are from WWII, and against only weakly armored ships. But I think I remember some test done by the Germans during that time that actually reported the near misses as more effective than hits against some targets.
  11. Wow. It has been a year since that screenshot. But I remember being excited about it for a number of reasons. If you know real ground radar pictures you will see some realistic features in there.

  14. My GearVR arrived today. Neat. I tested it a bit, but it seems something is incompatible now, I get audio via Moonlight, but no video. Not sure if the updates on my phone or the ones of my graphics card are at fault. I'll try some stuff and report back. :)

  18. I flew this mission today, and it worked. The only strange thing was that my gunners did not fire at the enemy after I picked up the troops, nor did the enemy fire at me it seems. That also made the mission a bit longer for me because I wasn't sure where to exactly fire at. :D
  19. 8nm is pretty awesome actually. In real life you normally wouldn't launch it until you are a bit closer, more like 6nm.
  20. Can you double-check by creating your own mission (standard map, one plane)? It sure sounds strange, becasue it looks like wind. I can also check when I am back home.

  23. I am not sure whether I understand. Are you trying to say the terrain is moving? Is that a custom made mission? Any wind or something?
