  1. Sadly, not a public forum. :/
  2. Hmm, couldn't find a link on TMs site, and their 'contact us' form is broken. Left message on FB, doubt I will hear anything...
  3. You don't have to. I still have my steam version installed, v1.1.0.9 I believe. However, if you don't change the save location and create missions in one or the other, you might have issues. I've not used the steam version since 1.1.1.0 upgrade though.
  4. That's not modeled in DCS, is it?
  5. I've had enough F16. It was fun, but I've always loved the A10. I think she's the most beautiful plane ever. And I do love the cougar. But the problem is that even the mods use the parts already in the cougar, just add special electronics. Mine is mechanically broken, as seen in the attachment (not mine; found pic). The red part snapped off. I do want the Warthog, but seriously going to miss the Range and Antenna knobs. I don't have pedals and used the antenna knob for that. Range was my Zoom. I did find a cougar stick on ebay, but not for $189. Also found just a base, with a 'rattling' noise (sounds just like mine) for $80.
  6. My TM Cougar has reminded me today of her age. Decided to try the DEVIL'S CROSS campaign, had just made IP and contacted JTAC when all of a sudden I heard a loud SNAP and my stick came all the way back. I opened up the base and found a piece of metal had broken off the y-axis pivot. This is the 'pin' part that provides tension on the spring when pulling back. The cast-metal part just snapped right off. She's treated me well, I suppose, but now I am going to have to decide to get a TM Warthog or not. I THINK I can still fly with the stick, just have to make sure to keep forward tension. It's still sitting on the floor. I'll probably hook it back up later tonight.
  7. There was a newer doc, can't remember if I saw it youtube or military channel, but one of the hog pilots was a youngish and extremely cute brunette female pilot. Found it on youtube: Modern Marvels A10 Tankbuster parts 1-5. One of the newest docs on the A10 I've seen. part 2: side note: the cute pilot is Danielle Curley, and is now flying and training new pilots on the MQ-1 Predator. very cool.
  8. I bought mine on Amazon.
  9. As stated above, you do need to turn the laser on to be able to see it. With NVGs activated and looking out your cockpit at the tgp, you should be able to see the pointer. Make sure the target you are lasing is actually out in front of you (and to the right if your tgp is on right wing), otherwise the tgp might be pointing under or behind you. Might also want to fly about 5K feet, that way the beam will be more in front than below.
  10. I have pages in a notebook filled with MGRS locations. But I agree that having a 'repeat nine-line' option in the jtac menu might be appreciated.
  11. Like...victory?
  12. TM insides are TRICKY. My Cougar has had an issue with spdbrk switch and IFF switch on the throttle. Somehow the two are shorted together (pressing either activates the other). I've had it apart but 1. the wires are THIN and 2. covered in hot glue. Your issue is much more serious but I've learned to live with mine. :/ Good luck with the repair.
  13. I'm sorry, this just keeps going through my head: " Spectrum HoloByte wants to expand its Electronic Battlefield Series to include not only low-flying A-10 "Warthog" tank-busters but also the ability to link up with a tank simulation on the ground." I'm gonna need a piddle pack due to all this giddiness. :-)
  14. The one, and only, mission I've submitted here is based on the night missions from the Gulf War, where the pilots had to use their mavericks to find targets. Can't really simulate an A-10A but with Mavs and no TGP at night, it comes close :)
  15. First, simple mission. Thought of it after reading "A10's in the Gulf" Night mission, no TGP. Mavs and NVGs your only sensors. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/181023/
  16. yay. first set of downloads w/corrupted texture files. Delete and re-download... 13 hours left for first .bin file.
  17. Is there a 'full' 1111 or just the patch to apply to 1110? nevermind, found the full version. Doh!
  18. Don't forget there's still an issue with EWR/search radars not working correctly in 1110. So SEAD flights will probably ignore most SAM sites, until the hotfix (if that's included in the hotfix, that is)
  19. Truth. Though, to be fair, if the Army DID have a fixed wing, it'd be the A10. :)
  20. You sure you have red vs blue? I just tested red Su-25 vs Patriot and it worked just fine. 2 missiles launched, killed by first. There appear to be 6 parts to the Patriot battery, only three of which are listed in the Encyclopedia, which are the only three you need to have an actively engaging system. As long as you have AN/MSQ-104 (control vehicle), AN/MPQ-53 (search/track radar; encyclopedia typo, listed as AN/MPQ-35) and M901 (launcher) everything will work. Not really sure what AN/MRC-137 (antenna mast group), EPP-III (electric power plant) or ICC (information coordination central) are used for in the sim.
  21. As previously mentioned, you really shouldn't have any issue with a/p. If you let go of your controls and the plane veers off, then either you trim isn't right (and it should be in the tutorial missions) or something with your controls is off. As an example, I use a TM Cougar with the ant. elev. rotary for my rudders. I had accidentally bumped it without realizing and plane kept diving towards the ground. Took me a few minutes to figure that out. You should check the centering for all your axes.
  22. Ya know, I do enjoy flight simming, but for me, I really enjoy the complicated avionics. The less actual flying I could do and the more having my head buried in the instruments would be awesome. Front seater on an AH-64D, backseater on and F15 Strike Eagle, whatever. If ED can provide that, I'd be very happy.
  23. HOTAS is definitely a game changer. My first was Ch Flightstick Pro and Pro Throttle. Lasted many years, and would probably still be used if it weren't of the 'gameport' variety. I did try using a usb-gameport adapter for a whiile, but USB was the future. That's when I bought TM's Cougar. Use it now though it seems to be on it's last legs. If I can't convince myself to upgrade to the Warthog, the Saitek setup is definitely next. Also, don't undersell TrackIR. Being able to look around by actually LOOKING AROUND is quite awesome!
  24. make sure that you press the release button at least 5-10s BEFORE release and HOLD the release button until AFTER the bomb drops. I had trouble with this, too, but now I know what I was doing wrong and have not failed to drop since. It really is that easy. The times this has NOT worked is when I failed to set spi from strpt to tgp. I was flying over target wondering why it wasn't working and then realized my spi was strpt.
