Love how you expanded on CDU functionality

Looks great. The yellow striping is some sort of decal?

That is a good looking contraption John. Looking forward to see how you do the spring load.

Simple, gpwiz40 doesn't have true analog axis. What they have is 4 button inputs that are grouped and passed as joystick to the OS. Think of old arcade joystick to move pacman or street fighter Ryu around, there is no need for 12bit precision sensors there. Use either bodnar board (easy PnP but expensive) or as was mentioned above arduino with mmjoy, will require more work

there are plenty of that type of people on this board, but so far it didn't sound at all like you interested to cooperate with anyone. that is a very strange takeout from all of this that you made. whether you succeed or fail will not change anything to someone not interested in your offering. Do you really think that if your KS fails it will be for reason of people here not liking you personally?

i7 2600k overclock causing lag in DCS?!
agrasyuk replied to D4n's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
tests published by several tech review websites show that prefabbed water coolers are not outperforming good air coolers such as noctua. so either way will work it looks like the lottery got you a very nice speciment of silicon that is quite above average. average chips will require voltage boost to reach those frequencies , and those volts will create heat. i'm running dual 280mm rad corsair closed loop water cooler in a relatively cool environment (basement) and temps can get into higher 60ies when i try harder overclocks. congrads on your lottery win, but i think one needs to be more carefull issuing "you'll never ever have to bother about temps again" statements. -
i7 2600k overclock causing lag in DCS?!
agrasyuk replied to D4n's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Malefic, no. It is entirely possible to have unstable CPU and keep working. The reason is that not all cores, even on same chip, created equal. in our situation where we try to get as close to the tipping point we will start seeing individual cores fail before the entire system locks up. So windows will boot, things will work but when you check prime95 you will see individual cores erroring and shutting off, and system still will be still usable. For some reason my 6600K has one core that insists to run 3C degrees higher then the rest and was consistently shutting of during tests and the system kept going. Hence I'm stressing the importance of long stress tests with per core monitoring. Hadwell, there is no arguing that aftermarket cooler provide much better performance and that performance is vital for good overclock. I also try and run aftermarket when I can , but stock coolers are still fully adequate for stock configs. and proven to sustain mild to mid overclock as well depending on case ventilation. So I think you overreacting there a bit with "criminal" ;) regardless, Intel took note of your opinion and the Skylake K chips ship without coolers altogether. Situation at hand however is that OP for some reason has to use stock and even if he is going to get a better heatsink later it still going to be a good exercise getting his current setup stable. OP, I wasn't aware CPU-z has stress generation . Maybe I'm out of date but instead of using any kind of utilities I preffer to do everything in BIOS. Perhaps we first try to eliminate that software variable? Ditch the utility, lock your volts and start dialing multiplier in bios? 5 minutes test is better then nothing, but when you reach closer to your goal clock I would at least test overnight. ADD: I would strongly advise on not reusing TIM. Given the fact both surfaces have to be squeeky clean I actually don' see how it can be done altogether. Get a small tube of something good , like the time tested AS, will go long way -

 how does that matter? what i do find strange is that no one asked OP for results of burn-in test. Daniel, how long did you run a stress test on your CPU to verify the overclock stability? Did it pass at all? while you can't go wrong with aftermarket cooler like 212 or noctua (budget permitting) mentioned above, low to low-med overclock is definitely possible on stock cooler. but before adjusting multiplier i would lock the voltage. if left on auto your board might be rasinig the V by itself to try and keep up with whatever numbers you dialed. so first while still at stock freq. find the voltage at which your cooler and case can keep the CPU during max heat stress test below say 70C (that would be max temp for my personal comfort level, my day to day target is below 60). and then slowly raise the multiplier to find which clock (again , under max heat stress test) the voltage can support. when you start failing the tests throttle back. this might take an evening or two. thats just in a nutshell, much better detailed guides available on the topic. another but IMHO less likely reason - hitting 80C temperatures you are not very far from the thermal throttling threshold. -

John, i don't entirely disagree with you , but I do think you are overreacting there a bit. Anyone can take on any kind of project and ask whatever amount of compensation for it. I don't understand the purpose or need of this particular one for all the reasons you mentioned, but OP is entitled to take on whatever he sees right in whatever way he intends to accomplish. Михель ,(did I get your name right?) While the business plan of funding CNC and such is not my business, As I told you in the previous thread I fail to see purpose for your device. If someone wants simple toggle box to augment his flight setup there is a sticky thread here that shows how to create one that has many advantages over your item. Ian already went great lengths explaining why his BIOS is not P&P . Do you really not see that accomplishing such device would be much easier with a joystick controller such as bodnar or gpwiz40 board? As someone who started on this mad journey with a simple toggle panel I can tell you that the most crucial item for that kind of device is not PCB but an enclosure with a way to put labels on. And I'm quite sure someone pursuing such pit will be making plans to solder a lot Feel free to keep disregarding of course.

Between the pit modeled in DCS and the tons of available pictures what information you needed and couldn't get? On this very board we have member that has real 21bis cockpit in his garage: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2394525&postcount=78 Not sure how active he is today but chances are pictures can be requested (not sure he speaks english, lt me know if you need translator).

Good supplier of pushbuttons and toggle switches for Arduino

eBay. Starting with China-magic cheapo 2$ switches all the way to silly priced mill spec Honeywell and Eaton. -
F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
agrasyuk replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Let's just say that I am seeing several things that don't add up here, from both business and technological standpoint. But that is not something I really feel the need to discuss in public. As I said above, as long as there no deposits that were not delivered on and no damage it's all fair game. -
Congrats on your card . Multimotor test would be of most interest to me. Also if you could baseline it with some other card you have on hand I think it would be very useful info

Frankly my enthusiasm for this grip project calmed down somewhat back when plan of metal product stick changed to 3d print, but I really don't get why all this resent drama. It's his personal project, he can work on it, or not work on it. Maybe the situation is he wants to work on it but can't (that's pretty much how my build is going). With that No timelines were promised, no commitments made, no deposits taken, no damage done to anyone. So it's all good. -
GTX1070 (ten-seventy) who's buying it?
agrasyuk replied to hughlb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As seller you will obviously want to get as much as you want for your items, "silly price" is very subjective. but the only reason items don't sell on ebay is overinflated expectations. List in proper section, Start at 10$ and the auction will end near the real value pretty much guaranteed (minus the occasional NPB). Even the very old 4xx cards still end with quite a few bids most of the time - market... I just cleared out my stash of computer junk and was quite surprised how much some are willing to pay for old core2 and AM2 stuff. PS: There is no mechanical wear on vidcards so whether they were very used or barely used plays no role on resale value ,to me at least. -
There is some interesting talk going on about difference in quality settings for those benches. It is quite likely that pair RX480 just about matches 1080. Something tells me that we will see independent recreation of that bench soon enough ;) It's great that there will be something to drive down cost of NV cards but multi GPU or dx12 is really irrelevant to us.

According to the benchmark thread stickied on top there is measurable improvement in clock to clock performance gain for newer Intel generation of CPUs. 2700k is a solid CPU still and I'm not suggesting dropping everything and upgrade, but there is improvement to be had. in any case 1000-1500 for an upgrade is quite an exaggeration. I'd wager 6600k+decent MB+ddr4 ram combo Can be had for under 500 easily and probavly lower if shopping carefully. As the matter of fact I just got that 6600k CPU+MB+ram last thursday for well under 400 and I'm sure I'm not he most gifted coupon clipper. To the ram topic, judging by same benchmark thread the jump from 2133 to 2400 ram under those test conditions yielded ~3fps improvement, not much at all. With the current prices I don't see why not go with 2400. For higher speeds that's more of a question to your wallet. But Since you with ddr3 I would recommend not touching anything, IMHO not the best investment at this day and age.

Judging by eBay activity someone who wants to make some $ by reselling. The Q is who would want to buy one from eBay at North of 800... :noexpression:

? I keep hearing "paper launch", yet local microcenter had at least several FE on their shelves . So I'm afraid that funny accented Youtube expert you echoing is wrong this time . I am not running to get one untill AIBs establish a good line of them.

Hansan, look into material called lasermax by rowmark. Essentially it is a styrene sheet painted black (other colors available but black/white is applicable to us). Requires somewhat more care processing with laser but provides very white lettering. ADD:

Congrats on your machine, CNC is awesom. but dude, your weapons, maybe keep them in a safe? ;)
