  1. didnt read the whole post but lookup SADL in the manual to do what you where wondering!
  2. You dont assign a target using SPI etc in CCIP modes. The default mode, manual release is you put the pipper on the target and press "release" to release. The other two modes are " Consent to Release " set from the IFFCC. You put the pipper on the target, HOLD release and you can then climb up/away providing you put the Solution Cue through the pipper it will release and hit (near) the target :). go grab topgun505 training missions, do the CCIP one and play with settings, put the game in unlimited ammo mode also! cheers
  3. yes pity. I use helios and tracks no longer record lua inputs since 1.0.0.9. Now a crappy system is even more crap. Ive given up and use tacview if I want to review action.
  4. any word on these new drivers removing the dreaded white blob problem? I'm still running 11.6 as its the last driver that works properly.
  5. Hi, yes I agree. Its even better when you crop it using BRISS. I have a bunch of short "how to's" I might release at some point. ie: bullseye offset, using markpoints as SPI's, SADL guide. All little technical doc's that I found I needed the deeper I dove into the sim! cheers
  6. Yes, kindle uses mobi format which is a very basic version of HTML. Calibre works well at most conversions. I use word and just setup my headings for title, chapters etc. Works well but doing a whole book from PDF is alot of work. It is really simple to do from the original document files.
  7. Had the x52 pro. Was ok for the money, I ended up with pedals as the twist was so "spikey" I've now got the TMW and honestly, they are not even in the same league for precision/ functionality comparison! You must have plenty of room under your desk for pedals :)
  8. wow talk about being obtuse! Any point in sending people to download a file that you have to be a member to access?? duh
  9. Even in the instant missions you barely have enough ammo to do it alone.. I have had a few times where I managed to exhaust my wingmans ordnance before having to use mine, but mostly he is useless! Yes, would be cool to tell the wingman to do the JTAC task and you clean up the remants.. look forward to hearing comments on the proceedure
  10. Ive started trying to use the "engage with" commands but am finding them frustrating. 1/2 the time wingman says "unable" or "negative". Makes me want to open up on him with the canon! What are the correct, foolproof steps to getting your AI wingman to follow you orders? I've even tried hooking him and hitting the "send" in tad.. still the same. So I attack, on the next try with different target (spi) he will comply.. arghgh
  11. Yes. I program my mic switch to use the paddle to shift it between the two. edit: You could use the TEMPO function so it uses TARS command after holding the mic for >1second. Plus with TARS, you hold the mic in position while you are talking.. its the PTT. Not sure if TARS can recognise DX buttons?
  12. thanks.. yes I now know the pictures contain vital information :) I tried the mission again last night but for some reason after I climbed to Angels 10 the IP went quiet and I flew out of the MAO by the time the IP woke up and started my manouvers.. Is there a faster way to align the EGI? Surely we dont need super-accurate nav for these missions. I read somewhere about starting an engine to taxi, then spooling up other engine and doing align on the taxi to runway.. any thoughts?
  13. thats the problem with tracks.. they rarely replay as intended. Anyone have a movie of the correct execution of spiral dive and lazy eight for BFT06? I cant seem to manage to do it the way the mission wants me to. Also, on BFT06, could you mention in the txt about the alternate engine out landing strip? I never look through the pictures so when I got to that part I failed as I headed to Batumi. cheers
  14. I know we are re-hashing the "maple flag" thread in here but I have changed my opinion on the value of payware. Yes, I supported the BFT camagne and thought it was a great idea. I started using it and found many issues and that led to frustration. The support was there initially but appears to have dried up. I guess to be expected for $5.. So my poor experience has left me a bit burnt and I doubt I will cough up anytime soon for anything else. With any software, I hate fixing other peoples bugs.. I do it at work all day so I'm not about to pay for an add-on that I need to tweek to work! I like the paradigm of Headspace, donateware, if its good, honest people will donate, if its crap they wont. At least that way he has not alienated the community and he gets beta testers gladly helping him out :)
  15. ..inflight gun rearm? :) thanks for the mission, these interactive ones are always great to hone the skills with!
  16. I just got through BFT05.. wow.. got my blood boiling a number of times with unexpected "you exceeded limits blah blah.." Not sure if its my setup, or just the way I fly, the script just doesnt like me and I have to change the way I do things so I can pass these things. There's nothing worse then it says "slow to 160.." ok.thens say "accelerate to 220", so I hit full throttle and then fail as I dont get to 220 fast enough. like duh.. what do I do, put it in a dive? Some clearer direction would be good, like turn at 45 degrees to 040. Climb to Angels 8 at 15 degrees pitch.. I generally do every request as quickly as possible now, no slow turns climbs etc. anyway, its very rewarding to get through the missions eventually, weaving yourself between the strange parameters. I just dream of how good it would be to do these sorts of checkout flights in multiplayer using teamspeak with a good pilot giving you instructions. that would be awesome.
  17. make sure nothing is sending keystrokes that is saturating the game. start up a key event monitor like the one in target script etc.. If you have the option to map DX buttons that is certainly the best choice to stop this sort of problem. cheers
  18. few updates. Was given a 42" LCD. I bought TMW sticks. Re-arranged the "man cave". Gotta say its pretty awesome to fly now, during the day I run it with the "buttkicker" for ultimate realism. Next on the to-do list is re-do the seat and base. The MDF is starting to come apart. Will see if I can "acquire" some 18.. ply, make it larger and make some "fake" panels to stick to the top so it looks real but isn't. cheers!
  19. I completely agree. If having a smaller map allows higher detail, greater reality (better ir detail) then I'd support it. I'm sure DCS allows for multiple maps support, so for small single player missions or training it makes sense.
  20. Good idea. One of the amazingly frustrating things of these missions is you forget one little switch, or make a small mistake after 10minutes (or more) of startup and its over.. It would be nice to see a complete successful flight of each mission, would certainly save some headaches. I'm bloody awesome at startups now, not so awesome at shutdowns as I rarely get that far :)
  21. BFT 02 v1.2 gets stuck on flight line if you dont close your canopy. No fail etc, but it continues if you close it. I think this BFT is such a great idea, but so far, it has proved very frustrating to do. Does accelerating time effect the mission? I find full startup takes me about 6 minutes and I get sick of having to wait to move on, especially BFT1 @ 15min!
  22. setup bands and then allocate the open/closed keys at the far extents (see attached profile) ie: | Open | (do nothing) | Close | doing this, just be aware of where the slider is as it will lock up all other keystrokes while its forward or back. In my profile the speedbrake slider will only operate with the pinky button depressed. AC10.rar
  23. Shift function allows you to hold a key (ie: S4 paddle) and it "shifts" all the controls (if programmed) to perform a different function. you use the MAPKEYIO for simple shifting. The tempo and seq are functions that allow even more powerful programming. In my program if I hold the Paddle and hit S2 my sticks change the callibration of the axis, less sensitive. I hit that button combo again and it reverts to default. tempo allow you to have short and long key press to do different things. ie: I use gear horn on short press to send "eject" and long press for "gear up". With that I just hit it 3x short press to eject, or long press to toggle the gear.
  24. yeah true, but a common fix for problems is deleting that folder. I just find it a bit confusing to know the "best" way to backup these files to save time when you have a problem/re-install etc.
  25. so what is the "save profile as" supposed to be used for? I take your answer to suggest you just backup that config DIR and restore it when you do a re-install to get your configs back?
