Thanks @Kharrn I just stumbled on this interview: https://youtu.be/bH1BShgGrnU?t=1344 doesn't go into detail how to it but good info
-
Thanks, I have been doing that and it works great. Have you got a similar workflow for Pilot firing using JTAC doing the lase? I've had mixed success so far with it, I point the nose of the chopper at the target, use george to put hellfire in LOAL, HI and shoot the missle. Seems 50/50 chance it hits. It would be nice if the JTAC transmitted the target info as entering the coords in VR is not particularly easy
-
Great thanks, I have the correct code and use HI. I wasn't doing the acquisition point, just lobbing them at the target and many were missing.. will try setting an acquisition point near the target. Would be nice if george could help when doing JTAC operations.

Hey Grimm, I cant seem to destroy the mi-24 black kite is lasing. use up my hellfires and cannot get target destroyed Also, can anyone point me to the procedure to get the hellfire to guide in on jtac laser in the apache? Currently I'm using George as normal.

correct as-is Today's patch - "Initial work on velocity hold submode"
spikenet replied to av8orDave's topic in DCS: AH-64D
agree, the only trim that seems to obviously do anything is Fwd R which I use alot. I noticed since patch the LEFT AT puts a box around the airspeed in the HMD but I cant notice that it is doing anything. Below is the only explanation I have managed to find: I figured out for LEFT AT you need to be slow, 10 and already stable then engage, does good job keeping the chopper on target, when you want to move target or flight press AFT D. -
yep you might need to go into the VKB config app and make sure it is configured as a mini stick (axis) On my MCG I press and hold the stick button and it changes to mini stick mode from HAT

I'll echo @Count Sessine comments. I ripped through the first 8 missions, really enjoyed them despite a couple of bugs (which looks like you have now addressed). Life got in the way and then, some other little module got released.. so was only a week ago I finished the whole campaign, wow! The atmosphere, voice acting and content was amazing. I'd que up the spotify playlist and escape to another world. Thanks again Reflected and all those involved, I really looking forward to a sequel. I'm guessing its another rotor that was recently released ? cheers

Having same experience to others where the chopper has become really hard to fly, super twitchy. I've not changed anything in my setup so its really weird. At first I thought my curves had been removed but no, they are still as set before. I noticed in the cockpit the virtual stick seemed to be moving more than before in relation to my inputs... hmm scub that, was my stick calibration was out..

cannot reproduce and missing track file What's going on Mr George from apache?
spikenet replied to sanc2775's topic in DCS: AH-64D
another tip I found was to put the vid on the right MFD and TSD on the left, that way if you get a master caution (pull the guts out of the rotor or over speed it) the left MFD jumps to the engine page automatically and you dont loose sight of what george is up to and you can flick back to TSD at your leisure -

spikenet replied to sanc2775's topic in DCS: AH-64D
using the VID page on TADS helps know what George is doing! The thing that annoys me is every time you ask George to "target" short up. He says "slaving/deslaving" then "lased and stored" even tho 90% of the time there is nothing there. Hopefully ED can get the voice-overs fixed up and working correctly. Currently the Apache is a real handful when flying SP and relying on George as he needs his hand held (and then some) to accomplish anything. Its still fun and I cant wait for future developement -
How i Shak in DCS AH64D at the moment.. i am stilly nooby... lol
spikenet replied to hannibal's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Those grips looks amazing! Surprised with all that nice hardware your running the old saitek combat pedals! Mine are so difficult to be precise compared to premium offerings I didnt notice but how are you controlling george ? Overall looks like an epic experience you have there! -
Great tips! I've been doing as you discuss but using the left MPD, this tip above is a gold for me as its annoying to get the TADS view back fly and not die!

Ive flown it a few times (tweeking my VR settings), great fun but a bit confusing what is going on or what to do. I couldnt see anything in F10 menu to choose tasking, only music tracks. I'm being told on the radio to hit bomber on the road which I'm trying to find then it blows up raven. I head south and hit stuff there no drama then randomly fly around until I Winchester. I need to read the menus better, the song track selects the initial tasking Thanks for the mission, love the voiceovers and regardless that I'm a rookie in the apache I'm having a good time.. haha I actually figured out how to use the goggles, looks awesome at night!

I find this one a challenge with guns+rockets only (no probs if I loadout missiles). George seems unable to hit anything with the gun especially if its moving. If I try to get close enough to help george I get taken out almost instantly with AAA.

Hey gang, Just wanted to see what the current best practice for oculus Rift is in DCS? Running a 3070TI with high end PC that has absolutely no issues with any other software. I'm finding variable results in DCS, sometimes with ah64 getting down to single digit frames. I started using OTT and following some guides but its all pretty frustrating. I also see OpenXR talked about but have no idea if this even helps with the Rift? Any tips would be appreciated. cheers

I tried that mod and didn't notice any difference. Is there a specific way to enable it? Its frustrating as a long time DCS user that left it for many years that the same issues remain now as in years ago with performance!

[SP] AH-64D Georgian Hammer Campaign
spikenet replied to Eight Ball's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Great work thanks! -
Yes you must have collective or you loose all cyclic authority. Quite a nimble ship all things considered, loops and barrel rolls.. etc
-
yes some interesting design choices in the systems. I'm sure they have a reason. Not sure why something simple like cycle through waypoints isnt on the hocas, but I guess the CPG looks after the nav IRL? Casmo demonstrated what can go wrong with the pilot getting his head down in the MPD's in a clip

Paradise Lost : Mission 8 : soldier run into rotors
spikenet replied to MMA01's topic in Bugs and Problems
yep same last night, I here the tail rotor chopping something up and then got a "lost all battle stats". Now I'm not that precious about my stats but not really my fault the NPC is blind. I think I have had some similar issues where you have to keep a close eye on the ground crew when taking off etc.. -
Thanks, thought I'd stuffed up the CM points in the TSD
-
I had same problem trying to rearm in the farp, for the life of me couldn't bring up the menu. I put it down to vaicom.. I have similar problem in the huey but press the comms key a bunch of times from the right hand seat then it works.
-
I changed the "ignore detent" setting in options then found myself blowing up the engines constantly when rolling the throttle on full.. I found the reason in the manual which is explained above, that it gives you ability to set speed as a backup using the levers...
