  1. Has overtones of the outcries when BS2 was released.. I have no problem paying for good quality content for my sim that I paid for, along with all my hardware, sticks and screens. Now if people are happy to create it out of love, enjoyment and prestige that is great! I certainly do that myself. There is no-one forcing me or anyone to purchase these missions, at the price of a cup of coffee. Its yet another option available.
  2. thanks for the great product. I think if they help us learn this great sim its a good investment. The in-built training only goes so far, and not at all in BS2! I prefer short vids, as tracks dont replay well on my setup, and it would be a shame people get the wrong impression due to track replay error. I'd only suggest on your website to clearly state that your install keys/license are not delivered instantly.
  3. ok thanks, I'll take a look at AHK. That zoom on PAC script looks cool, I like the idea of doing those things. I'm sure TARGET could do it but why re-invent the wheel! Do you use something to test your key scripts? ie: some sort of virtual keyboard etc.
  4. Thanks Peter.. Given you dont use Target I'm guessing the footprint of Autohotkey is alot less? I have looked at target and it actually seems pretty good, especially compared to SST. Is there a reason that some people are very anti-target? is it buggy or causes issues (aside from previous mentioned logitech issue) ?
  5. Hi, I have found the same, windows keys not sent. Not really a big deal for me as those keys are rarely used so I'll reach for the keyboard :)
  6. Fish has an excellent VAC profile that does all the Radio commands on here somewhere. However, it does get confused between "tower one" and "wingman".. Could you post your VAC profile for the snapviews please. cheers
  7. use the extra RAM to make a RAMDRIVE to run your pagefile and temp files from. If your really keen you could set it up to copy the game to ramdisk on boot then it will load up super fast :)
  8. ok thanks, makes sense. I found a profile on the forum that is very close to what I want to do so will start with that. Last question, is there any advantage to leaving a button as DX as opposed to setting it as a keystroke?
  9. If Amazon dont want to take your money just google it, not hard to find the mobi. You dont want Amazon hassling you to prove you live at that address that you clearly are not at.
  10. err ok.. So when you say create your own lua file, what does that entail? Hopefully not having to map all the keys/buttons within DCS manually.. What logitech conflicts? I use a G15 keyboard, thats the only logitech thing I have. Ells228, not sure what you mean about the virtual device, but I'm sure I will find out when I get the sticks ;)
  11. these days they could just slap a couple of iPads running iControl with some warthog sticks and be done with it!
  12. ok great thanks for the info. Will start thinking about how to do it now then. Will see if target software can allow me configure without the sticks.. that would be cool as saitek you cant. cheers
  13. ah ok, I didnt realise the sticks had unused buttons. hmm, so if I wanted to have 2 modes: mode 1 - all default bindings mode 2 - a shiftstate to map other less used functions could I use target so when I press and hold the "mic" switch it goes to mode 2? would mode 1 need all the keystrokes mapping or can it just work in DX mode? Also, it seems target is very powerful for scripting, can I setup a mode where the sticks are less sensitive for refuelling etc? thanks
  14. Hi, Finally pulled the trigger on the warthog sticks. Currently using X52 Pro with SST profiles with all default keys in the sims A10+BS My questions are related to setup of the warthog, I want to have the ability to map the stick as it should be, at least in A10. I also use trackIR, TS3, VAC and one of the x52 wheels to zoom. I guess that I will have to use target software to map the extra "shift" modes of the warthog sticks? Any tips or existing profiles that would cover those 3 extra things I need? I'd like to minimixe downtime setting up and learning to cant wait, they should be awesome! :)
  15. definitely go for an SSD to run system and important progs off it. I'm a believer these days :) I like the crucial M4 drives. Also remember, as with all modern SATA drives to make sure your NOT running your controller in old IDE mode in bios ;)
  16. your system looks pretty good to me as is. Only thing I'd think you could do is as you mentioned, upgrade your GPU to single card solution, bit more RAM (to run ramdrive for pagefile/tempfiles) and install win7 64 home premium. Your spec doesnt list your HDD, a couple of SSD's would spruce it up also :)
  17. Any suggestions?
  18. Thanks for the great missions, going to start working through them now! Are the individual missions the same as the ones in the campaign? Also, with the "pay-to-play" do you just need to unlock it for the initial install, i'm doing hardware updates and dont wont to have keys issues? cheers
  19. checkout this thread first: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60815 Once you have your multi monitor setup then worry about helios. With helios, you will have to do a "reset monitors" command from the file menu. Then you will have to move all the controls around to resize to your screen setup. It would be alot of work and I'd suggest do your own and just copy paste elements from an existing profile. With that screen res you will be limited with what you can fit anyway. be aware that running helios and BS2 (windowed) will have a massive impact on your FPS. You could consider trying softTH.
  20. never used camera jiggle until I saw this thread, now I've tried it I like it.. subtle and does add something. Definitely make it an option to set permanently on please.
  21. best delivered price I can get is $450, not to bad I guess.
  22. hi, you will need to setup BS to display on multiple screens. Its pretty simple, checkout my helios profiles in my signature, it has lua files to get you started. Also checkout the helios forums. It is simple to get helios, shkval and abris running on 2nd screen. It gets more complicated when you want flares, pvi and uv26. Personally I dont think its worth the hassle.
  23. pdf's are just to clumsy on the kindle, hope you find these docs more user-friendly! I had a look at ebookr after your comment, pretty disappointing, searched 5 books I have in my amazon wishlist, none showed up including Robin Olds classic. Maybe we can start a share thread for classic novels or reference books?
  24. I've just started to learn A10 now after spending lots of time on BS. As a nice chrissy present I got a Kindle so thought its time to format some useful docs in ebook format. 8 files including following subjects: (kindle.rar) Aerodromes Checklists 9 line brief RWR threats Ordnance Brevity codes glossary HOTAS commands Source Credit given where I could find the source of any info I took from elsewhere. PDF's (usually look ok in landscape mode): A10C cropped Manuals If you want PDF's on the kindle I suggest using BRISS to crop them, fantastic open source tool! edit: updated checklists to 1.1. Better formatting and added links to panel images at beginning of each section. kindle.rar cookie - 25th VFS Checklists v1.1.rar
