Question about TM Warthog profile
spikenet replied to Kenan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just to add to the above, if the "custom" single key is within the "game" then you dont need to use Target, its only if you want to map a keystroke outside the game. IE: Freetrack, TS3 etc you will need target or autohotkey. Just re-map the button within the game options. I think its worth setting up a target profile and making use of the shift function on the stick. That way you get all the default keys Plus unlimited extra,s. The Tempo and SEQ functions are great also! cheers -
I had exactly the same problem. I ended up deleting the folder in my user directory, re-installing and it fixed it. Bit of a hassle as had to set everything back up.
-
Have a look at the attached profile. It uses all default keys so you only have to map the AXIS. Its a comprehensive profile that uses a couple of modes. If you want to use the buttons bellow the MFD on the throttle (for landing gear etc) you need to do that from within the options. To test it, click on the "gear" icon in SST and you can see keystrokes. KA50-2.rar

make sure your HATs are set as 8-way in SST profiler. Then for the diagonal, bind down the 2 key presses to it. ie: (;/) for up AND right.

Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog
spikenet replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I semi-dissassembled the stick. Put some "slick-honey" grease on the ball and that helped alot! Everything was very dry inside, maybe the grease machine was having a bad day on the assembly line?? Did the spring mod but it was too little tension. Be nice to be 1/2 way between the big spring and the small... Is it possible to acquire replacement springs? Would be good for fine-tuning. -
do you have rudder pedals? For a helo they are pretty much a "must have" item. I just got the TMWH, had been using the X52 Pro. No comparison, the X52 just feels like a big floppy "stick" and I wonder how I used them for so long. TMWH are solid, heavy and precise. Take it to a new level. Plus the programming is superior for complex (or simple) as you like. If there's a chance you can wait and get the TMWH then I'd do that.

Voice Command & Speech Recognition Software
spikenet replied to jaqknife's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
thanks for the heads-up on voice attack. My VAC trial just expired after having a bugger of a time getting it to work reliably. voiceattack certainly looks more powerful with lots of options, be interesting to see how easy it is to program and edit. one good thing with VAC is it uses XML for the profile so its easy to edit outside the program. Will check it out! cheers -
thanks Peter, not a biggie but great to see it addressed quirk-mode? :)

Some basic problems programming warthog HOTAS
spikenet replied to spikenet's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
ok thanks. I can get the LEDs to turn on using the GUI, but if I copy the code to the script engine it just doesnt work. I might try re-installing target, maybe that will help/ cheers -

spikenet replied to spikenet's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
great, thanks for the help. That LED code doesnt work. I think something must be broken in the engine. I cant find anything about command line options to run scripts etc.. seems very strange to me as this seems such an obvious thing! Also, I cant get the spawn to work ie: Nothing happens. -

Hi, I just want to be able to switch them on/off when say I press S4. have been able to get S4 to switch backlights on off but not the LED's. What I am really trying to do is setup a couple of different Axis profiles and switch the LED's depending on what one is currently loaded. cheers -
Some basic problems programming warthog HOTAS

answered Q2 myself.. after a hour or so I realised I have to include "pulse" on both commands MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSR, CHAIN( PULSE+L_ALT+USB[87], D(250), PULSE+L_CTL+'q'), CHAIN( PULSE+L_CTL+KP0, D(250), PULSE+KP1)); Still looking for clues with LEDs and startup shortcut cheers -
Just got my new sticks and trying to setup a target script to my liking. 2 main issues I just cant figure out how to do 1) cannot get any of the 5 LED's to switch on / off using script. I can set the backlight, turn them On using the gui.. 2) I'm trying to setup a multiple command using the Mic switch. I want to send the command mic forward, then control+Q (to turn on VAC). I've tried the chain command but it groups them as one long press. Basically I want the mic fwd to execute, then the VAC command, separate but from one keypress. The CHAIN command doesnt seem to do this. lastly, any way to run the script from a shortcut on the desktop rather then having to go into the target program each time? Any help appreciated. thanks

Where to buy HOTAS Warthog in Australia?
spikenet replied to deltatango's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That is who I got my sticks from, I waited for one of their auctions that has the "make an offer" option. Good service, 1 week shipping, so far so good! Very surprised how heavy they are, and the precision! yeah... -
Fish, thanks for the great tutorial for VAC, you sold me on it! I've just come across a major problem with my VAC, was working perfectly with a tweeked Fish profile, then for no apparent reason it wont recognise speech correctly now. Just gives me F5's etc and nothing like I am saying. My voice broke 30 years ago so that cant be it! :) Anyone had this problem? I tried re-installing an older version of VAC but still the same.. possibly Microsoft speech part broken??

How to make controller Profiles
spikenet replied to HOKUM52's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You might be able to use bands for BS2, I do that in A10 but seem to remember getting the shkval to slew with the mouse stick didnt work well in BS1 so I used a POV hat. -
give facetracknoir a go, its not the best, but you will get an idea how great it is to actually "look" around in the virtual world! I also use freetrack with a homemade cap. It works as good as trackIR for a fraction of the cost, but not the easiest thing setup from a hardware POV.

How to make controller Profiles
spikenet replied to HOKUM52's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi I dont think you can use the mouse for shkval slew. I use the main POV on the stick and put it in 8 way mode, then I set the keys as required. No idea about command on shift change, dunno why you would want to do it really. -
Glad you find them useful. I'm not going to convert anymore of the manual. Its to time intensive and the cropped PDF is good enough. Creating a kindle book is dead easy with the orginal doc format, doing it from a PDF is not easy at all. Lets hope DCS either release a kindle friendly version or the doc file itself so the community can do it. cheers!
