I hope its not released this week.... I still have to finish Paradise Lost campaign!

Any solution to this issue with huey and the campaign? Is there any way to access the custom F10 and cargo menus using voice? On mission 4, I had to swap to the pilot seat to get the menu up to respond using F10. It just would not come up in the co pilot seat (weird)

is it worth getting a gtx 980?
spikenet replied to Dave317's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
intersting discussion, I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a 1070, possibly a 1080 AIB but limit stock and silly prices have me holding out.. I'm still using my trusty gtx680 but it is starting to show its age and I feel upgrade is warranted. I to want to get a rift when they are available which seems to be latter in the year so most likely going to spend the extra $$ for 1080 which in the long run should last me 3-4 years. -

Corrected FC3 flyables HD pits
spikenet replied to Mustang's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I've been trying to get the HD textures specifically for the su25t working. I've downloaded multiple versions of different pack, ricardo's, this one etc but none will work. Any idea's? its hard to fly the su25t after using the high quality pits ricardo has done for the ka50 and a10c. -
Since the update BS2 radio comms are in russian. I have english set in the options, any idea's how to revert it back to english? thanks

Leap Motion looks promising
spikenet replied to Thrakazog's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Got mine today, have just played with the basic apps it comes with, so far pretty disappointing (no pun intended). Going to have to figure out how to calibrate it as my cursor leaps around and has no precision. Will try it out latter with helios etc, fingers crossed it is basic user error :) -
About to lay down SERIOUS money
spikenet replied to Havoc04's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Best mod I did to the stick was grease it with some quality grease. All the spring mods just did do it for me, to floppy. Good luck with you soon to arrive WH HOTAS :) -
ok thanks, I'll try that. Seems ridiculous you cant have true 2.1 output from these cards. stereo sound plus a discrete sub out.
-
I have a buttkicker attached to my simpit seat and it works great plugged into the "sub" output of my amp. The amp is plugged into the PC using standard stereo output. My issue is when I use headphones I cannot use the buttkicker as the sub output is disabled. So, does anyone know how to get true 2.1 output from my PC? Currently use Asus Xonar DGX.

If you want a taste try FacetrackNOIR with a cheap suitable webcam. The current version of Facetrack now contains updated freetrack (for IR tracking) and, in my opinion, is much more user friendly and smoother then the old freetrack. My setup cost about $40 to build the IR cap and camera. If enjoy tinkering and have the time you can build something just as good.
-
Why not just clone it, easy! Or better, keep your drive and add the new SSD for just games etc..?

Custom Interchangeable Flight Controls
spikenet replied to KomodoSim's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Fully exchangeable grips for existing WH would be optimal. HAving a realistic stick is awesome, not so much the throttles. Obviously there are lots of WH units in the wild, a market. The shells would be a hassle and after doing it a few times it would go in the draw forever! Plus the risk of breaking something. As mentioned, realistically target support is important so copying the electronics is a required, if possible :) cheers, I hope this gets off the ground! -
I love my Warthog controls, was such a revelation compared to anything I'd had previously. A good long-term investment! Not sure why anyone claims they are not versatile, once you learn the scripting language they can do nearly anything you can think of! The only thing I would suggest with the WH is putting some decent grease on the stick, makes a huge difference! As for training, anything that gives you an edge has got to be an advantage! :)

updating to GTX680 from 6970 any tips?
spikenet replied to spikenet's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for all the tips guys. I finally got a chance to install it and run a few missions... wow! what a difference. Not only did the upgrade go seemless, usually there are issues, non with the nvidia, installed latest beta drivers. I cranked everything up to maximum running dual screens as usual and absolutely smooth as butter. It actually felt different flying it and the headtracking is silky! very happy, was worried I wouldn't see a huge difference but yeah, I did! :)
