In the way way past I could toggle up on sw 5 and 6 then toggle up on 7 and hit NWS to set ref and the plane would hold that heading and alt (this even worked rarely before today's patch) Today I toggle up on 5 or 6 and they return to center the instant i click off of them I can toggle up on 7 and it will stay if I then attempt to toggle up on 5 or 6 they again return to center. Ive tested this once on instant action f14b cat vs eagle after the fight trimmed well level. Since you seem surprised by my comment I suspect the issue is my MSFFB2 joystick as it is likley the only thing unique to my system that would likley not have been tested. Okay question on autopilot. I get plane trimmed close nice and level but when I toggle up on attitude hold, alt hold, the switch returns to center immediately. I can toggle up on the autopilot sw and it stays. I didnt see mention of this. This behavior is new. Any suggestions? Thanks -

well what this means is im going to have to get my buddy on discord, go though the startup then coordinate with him to hook and then quit and get the track. This why no one has provided a track for this issue. I plan to change that tonight. I'll check that folder to make sure recent tracks are showing up and have a go at it. This has been pissing me off enough with a busy server and half utilized cat system and confused noobs doing donuts on the deck to get that track... any idea how much time I have before I run over 5mb file size? This has been a long standing problem but it did use to work. They keep ignoring the issue with the claim its because no one can provide a track...probably its because it cant be fixed with a reasonable amount of work and its cheaper to ignore the problem (we gotta make ends meet right)... its a very simple problem that can be quickly reproduced most MP tracks are too big to upload. The problem is when a tomcat occupies any 1 of the 2 sets of cats a 2nd aircraft of any type will be ignored. This should be easy to repeat you just need 1 tomcat and a second aircraft and multiplayer environment. not sure if the problem extends beyond MP. Pretty sure if any other plane is on a cat, a tomcat will be ignored if it tries to hook the 2nd cat in that set as well. -Gun -
yes it works but i sometimes get frustrated that I can see something and clearly mark it but he wont slew to it. It appears that he moves the pod but it will never find the location I asked for so i have to try again... maybe several times. Seems like 8 miles might be near the outer limit. at 35k elevation its nearly under the plane. Using the old mod I could slew the pod myself to the same location 20 to 25 miles away no problem. I can get a human RIO to do the same. It works great up close but something is goofy with it much beyond 8 miles. Thanks! -Gun

Hello At least in VR the chat window consumes a fair bit of space. I know it has the option to turn off or show a letter with unread messages. I dont like any of those options. Is there a mod or something that will completely fade out the whole window after say 10 seconds of inactivity? That seems like it would be a welcomed feature for VR. as soon as someone sends a message it pops up then goes away after X time (which could be a user setting) or if I enter the send message window and start typing it will say up forever until my message is sent. Thanks

when playing online (im assuming its an offline problem as well) ill use "eyeballs" to ask jester to slew the pod to that point. It works but the range needs to be increased. For example playing TTI I can see red smoke put the small circle on the smoke and jester never seems to be able to slew the pod to the smoke. I have to wait until im nearly over the smoke then it works great but now I only have a few seconds to line up.

Do we have any indicators of the radars gimbals limit in the f14 or is it all guess work? -
Yes thats always been the case but it seems over sensitive now. I try to trim it out but its so touchy that it seems like the trim isnt fine enough I use a hat switch and a mod key for trim. it seems like it needs 1/2 click precision and about 2 min of fussing with so that there is a small chance that it might work.

Thank you for that clarification. with a fox 1 or 3 once the missile launch warning quits that indicates that the lock has been broken with either the active missile or the aircraft's radar and the incoming missile is not tracking correct? -Gun -
Hello I have some questions about RWR and missile threat indications. Im hoping to better understand the threat warnings to improve defense tactics. I mostly play TTI vs ai aircraft 1) If a threat moves to the outside ring of the RWR he has an active lock and his radar is tacking my aircraft (I think thats accurate) 2) If I get a missile launch warning is that missile ALWAYS radar guided? (how could it know that a fox 2 was launched?? It cant right) 3) missile symbology on the RWR (M) would only appear with a fox3 and only AFTER the missile went active?? 4) A threat on the outside ring of the RWR could launch a fox2 (assuming he had a radar lock) and my only indication of this would be a smoke trail? Im also aware that a lock is optional for fox 2 in which case a smoke trail is about it...? so can I make the following assumptions? A threat on the outside ring of the rwr gets a missile launch warning: He has lock and has fired a fox1 or 3. Flares wont work. I should beam or notch and use chaff or attempt to outrun. If my phoenix is in route and will force him to go defensive before his missile gets to me he maybe forced to break lock and his missile will miss. Once the launch warning tone goes silent it means his lock is broken and his missile is no longer tracking correct? But it could require lock. Ill never get a launch warning from a fox2 (but may get radar lock or not) if you see smoke assume fox2, beam, flare, or outrun. any other important items I might not be aware of? Thanks

In the past (say a year ago) the autopilot was never an issue. Now i cant seem to get it to run reliable if at all sometimes? I get the plane trimmed, have less than +- .5 climb. Try to set ref and it just enters a large dive. maybe 1 in 50 attempts I can get it to work but Im not sure why. what the procedure for setting this thing up now? Thanks

did you check to see if there is a key bound to throttle / throttle cut / fuel cut or anything of that nature that might be by mistake. So far issues like this are caused by a key bind issue ive yet to read otherwise.

so in the first 2 seconds it looks like the ground is properly exposed and the water is over exposed... This is expected yes? Not the ground being properly exposed and the water being 1 to maybe 3 exposure values over total darkness.

With NV on 3am no moon scatter clouds over Syria the terrain is easily visible but water is not. As gain is increased even with the lowest light settings in the f14 the cockpit over exposes before the horizon can be broken out from the water and in no case is the water ever visible. ive never used NV in real life but it seems to me that terrain with trees and grass should be less reflective than water. The water has reflectance values approaching zero as far as night vision is concerned im going to argue that this must be a bug because if the gain can be easily adjusted for terrain then water should be no problem... I dont see cloud reflections off the terrain but I do off water. Even if waves were to disrupt the reflective value of the water's surface then points on those waves should reflect back and create a sparkle type effect Ive not seen this discussed before... What are your thoughts on this? -Gun

1) In VR the menu consumes quite a bit of screen space having it minimized is nice. I dont think it shows who is transmitting in any instance however that should be an option like with SRS. When minimized when a user keys up their call sign and freq should show up in the area of the menu then fade out after quickly after the end of the transmission. This could be an option as there are probably servers that would like the user name to not show up ever. (not crapping up my display with menus is excellent and a simple fade in/out doesn't break immersion or clutter FOV) 2) when tuning to a channel how many other users are on that same freq?... This is helpful also something srs does 3) Needs mic click quite helpful to know that you did indeed press the button good. 4) When getting behind terrain this blocks signal and it appears to function well but it also appears binary. The signal is blocked or its not. Implementing degradation would be great... static increase volume decrease things like that then static as we approachtotal LOS. 1) is by far the most important. It needs to have the ability to be non intrusive by displaying transmitter's name and the freq then fading out when minimized. When a user keys up (X) could be displayed at the end as well where X is the number of users on that channel. Thanks -Gun

What type of chair for rudder pedals?

If you're at a desk I just use two clips on nylon rope or ribbon and clip the L and R side of the chair to the bottom of the desk. They use buckles so I can adjust the twist and distance of the chair. -
Pretty much At least it has texture now and its not just a simple flat color. I would like the default wave height to be a bit more when winds are calm but yeah overall a lot better

This sounds a lot like the Valve Index 2. This is good I like the direction both companies are headed its in agreement with what im after. If this headset really delivered what its hyped up to be I would pay 2k for one. Look at all the people willing to pay 2300 for a 3090 they cant get. They could sell these if they actually deliver. I'm betting that valve actually delivers the better product and that it will be released first which is likley why pimax is announcing so early they want to sound like they were first considering how similar the two HMDs are likley to be. Its looking like the next 6 to 12 months has a lot to offer in the way of next gen headsets. -
This is an awesome update. Its a huge improvement over the mod that lets the pilot run the pod it unloads a ton of work. issues im having. 1) in VR the "head control" red circle is double vision not sure if this is a VR issue with a setting on my end or a HB issue. Ive run the cross eye alignment tool months ago when I got the Hp Reverb G2 and everything has been fine since then. This is the first VR issue ive seen recently. 2) Need a jester hot key(s) for zoom. It would allow for two types of control: (Type 1) rocker sw that is normally centered press forward zoom in press back zoom out and then auto (give control back to jester) (Type 2) Normally open push sw this runs on a loop cycle each time you push zoom 1, zoom 2, zoom 3, auto and it loops back -Gun
