  1. In the mission editor, it would be really nice if you had some extra AI settings for each unit. For example: if I have a bomber/multirole fighter, I would like the following options: If enemy plane detected: a) bug out (go home) b) engage c) go to next waypoint d) ignore e) evade, then press in with attack If enemy air defenses detected: a) bug out (go home) b) go to next waypoint c) ignore, or fly higher (dont dump ordinance) d) try to attack from different angle Currently, the AI totally loses their mind, when they encounter AAA or enemy air, and it makes it very difficult to plan missions that will work. Looking forward to the game regardless. Cheers, LP
  2. Sounds good, but screenshots would nice. Cheers
  3. Is it possible that your controllers are sending some sort of key/command combination, that is causing it to exit? Although I would expect you to have the same problem in single player. Do you have different joystick mappings for multiplayer and singleplayer?
  4. Understood - looks like you're doing a great job already. Ya, that's what I decided on. Problem is that it doesn't work with toggle (on/off) switches out of the box. It expects momentary buttons only. But I've found a software solution, using the open source program called AutoHotKey (http://www.autohotkey.com). It can translate the on and off states into button presses. Good luck with your pit project. If you want to chat about pit building, there is an excellent pit builder topic on SimHQ - EECH forums here: http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=320719&page=1&fpart=14 Cheers, LP
  5. Did you consider a card like the Hagstrom Ke72?: http://www.hagstromelectronics.com/products/ke72.html Or, if you want something cheaper, you might like the Ultimarc A-PAC: http://www.ultimarc.com/a-pac1.html You obviously know what you're doing with electronics, but these might save some time and effort. Cheers, LP
  6. What are you planning to use for a switch/input encoder?
  7. It could probably done with LUA. Wait for aircraft to hit certain position, and then play a sound.
  8. What is your missle accuracy slider set to, in settings?
  9. Great work Colt!
  10. The ECM panel in Jay's screenshot is on the right-hand console. Just look down, to your right, and press 'E' a couple times, and you should see it. EDIT: Rich beat me to it LOL
  11. Operation Flashpoint EECH Neverwinter Nights 1&2 Police Quest series
  12. Are you using static objects, or are you editing the map binary?
  13. None of the switches are clickable, but if you turn on "cockpit mouse", you can move your view around. (There is no mouse pointer arrow/icon) I think you can turn on cockpit mouse under Options->Cockpit. To change the sensitivity of your mini-joystick, you may need to play with the axis settings under Options->controls. Maybe someone with an X-45 can help you. Cheers, LP
  14. He means a "dual-link" DVI cable. More info about DVI cables here: http://www.datapro.net/techinfo/dvi_info.html Not sure if a dual-link cable would help. Good luck, LP
  15. Are you using the keyboard to slew the designator? If not, what controller are you using? Cockpit mouse speed is the speed that you can pan your view in the cockpit with the mouse. Rugg: You can also use the mouse to slew the designator - it's quite smooth and accurate too. You lose your cockpit mouse, but it's an option.

  17. We were talking about this topic over in the EECH forum at SimHQ recently: http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=30;t=004612;p=11 Here are some ideas, that we found while researching a couple of weeks ago: If you live near the Netherlands, you can order "the Rock 'n Ride" for 800 euros: http://shop.rightthing.nl/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17 It appears to just take direct input from the joystick. But it has 60 degrees of bank!! Here's an old review: http://www.combatsim.com/memb123/archive/htm/htm_arc4/rocknr.htm animated gif: http://forum.rscnet.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=394032&d=1159681516 Might find one cheaper on E-bay. I also found the "JoyRider". It's not a powered solution however. From what I can understand -- you move a control arm which turns the cockpit inside a gimbal frame, and these inputs are also sent to a joystick mounted underneath. Here are some photos based on the design: http://www.acesim.com/ready.html More info about the design: http://www.acesim.com/chapter2.html Here are the plans for $15: http://www.acesim.com/plans.html Probably not good for a chopper sim, but interesting none the less, IMHO. Also, something based on the Intellivibe/Ivibe.com, that someone is working on: http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=266543 http://rapidshare.de/files/32768287/vid_o_2.rar http://www.ivibe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226 (thanks to Fufunka for these links) Regards, LP
  18. This is the closest thing we have to a dedicated server (project DedMac): http://www.verbalass.com/dedmac/
  19. If you really want to help people, give them some options. Here's a free one called 'Shoot': http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/
  20. If it was something that triggered a LUA event, you could write a program to play sounds based on those events.
  21. You can find fraps here. It has a free trial. http://www.fraps.com A cheaper way of editing would be to use Windows Movie Maker, which comes with Windows XP. Vegas does have some cool effects though. Good luck - looking forward to seeing your work! LP
  22. Looking forward to it. Any chance we can see the AI aircraft engaging SAMs without dropping all of their air to ground weapons? ;) Or choppers flying NOE through some riverbeds... Cheers
  23. There's a free program called "the Gimp" that lets you save files as .ico format. http://www.gimp.org/windows/ The interface takes some getting used to, but it is quite powerful. Cheers, LP
  24. Which connector are you using between the video card and the monitor: DVI or VGA? I think that using the DVI connection will give you better quality as well. (because it's digital/less interference?) Cheers, LP
  25. Any word on extended resolution support for triplehead2go? Thanks, LP
