27 November 2015 DCS Weekend Update
wolfstriked replied to Call911's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
:P ONE MANS BAD LUCK TO GIVE US ALL GOOD LUCK? -
I know its not a racing sim but tire model is still important. When I land the Mi8 a bit sideways I expect the heli to straighten itself out but it slides sideways and I have to add rudder to compensate.Self centering torque would cause the heli to ride straight. Also it would prevent the sideslip on takeoffs,at least until enough weight has been taken off the tires to overcome their grip. Plus when hard braking in planes the skidding is a canned effect and really needs a makeover to fit in with the rest of the superb physics going on.....IMO Any ideas if work is being put in to a new tire model?:book:

Major Windows 10 Update Today ... report any issues.
wolfstriked replied to Backy 51's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I like Win10 so far except for one issue of power settings not working.Having to manually turn on and off the pc and screen due to abug with USB controllers.I unplug my controllers and power off works just fine. -
Its a dream of mine that one day we will get FFB sticks with extreme strengths.Just look at the new high torsion racing wheels and how they make the racing sims so much more realistic.Watch the end wehere he drives with the wheel.

Setting Joystick Button as Modifier
wolfstriked replied to thismachinekills's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yes you can.Look in the setup page for modifier and its self explanatory. -
Just noticed that dreams do come true.ED RULES!!:D Thanks for adding in turbulence sound for when you pull back on the stick......its now there in the A10c.And its different than the air brake sound of which I wondered if it would not work well.Great job and I send internet hugs & kisses. Also,I swear it seems that the tanks seem to stand out more in TGP.Has the FLIR in A10c been updated?

Two CH Pro Throttles Setup for twin engines aircraft
wolfstriked replied to Lion13's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
^^^Agreed. Also, having two throttles and a stick and only two hands will make for a headache. -
Wishing for: Seat Adjustment - Eyepoint control
wolfstriked replied to DerekSpeare's topic in DCS Core Wish List
That would work wonders if you only had to do this once but I need to constantly reset my trackir though. Not only that but I just fixed one of my biggest annoyances with DCS A10c and that is when I reset trackIR my viewpoint looks down at the MFD's and strains my neck to look up and out of cockpit. -

Remove Start of Mission Zoom Effect + Track IR
wolfstriked replied to docfu's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Trust me,it works just as you describe.I can zoom in and out instantly upon entering the plane which is always zoomed out to my max setting already. The only problem is that this removes the ability to zoom further out then the 90FOV of which I set it to.All in all I feel this polishes the sim for me as its immersion breaking for me to enter a sim and have to adjust zoom in and out to get it where I like and then at times it zooms to far out and really breaks immersion for me.Hopefully the Rift will be a salvation for this. EDIT....just realized you have zoom on an axis and your correct it does not register for awhile. -
Ahhhhhh humans :D

Remove Start of Mission Zoom Effect + Track IR
wolfstriked replied to docfu's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I know the way to get rid of the zoom fellas and its real easy.I say rather easy but a bitch since you need to change each plane to FOV you like. You need to set a defaut FOV in server.lau and then set the default view in each plane to match and when you first get into the game it will be set to this fov as default. Go into DCSWWorld/config/view folder Open server.lua and near the top of page find----------------- function default_fighter_player(t) local res = { CameraViewAngleLimits = {20.000000,140.000000}, I have my cameraviewangle limits set to {30.000000,90.000000}, Then go into SnapViewsDefault.lua and find the plane you want. For example I wanna change the A10C so I scroll down till I find SnapViews["A-10C"] Then scroll down to the last setting for the A10c which for every plane is 13.Then change default fov to match the default you set in server.lua and done. [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 90.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -23.000000, x_trans = 0.360000, y_trans = -0.041337, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, -
This plane looks to become my favorite in the DCS lineup just for its visuals. Also, love the turbulence sounds with any amount of pitch change as it really adds to a sensation of turning IMO.Maybe just a barely noticeable amount of cockpit vibration that intensifies with G's pulled and it would be perfect.

[SOLVED]Installed Win10 and now beta wont start
wolfstriked replied to wolfstriked's topic in Installation Problems
Still working on this as I see ED are not inclined to help with certain issues? First off this is a steam version.Ok,so I tried a suggestion to start DCS with the DCS.exe in the bin folder at which point an actual error popped up. "The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer.try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" I found a try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++2013 Redistributable of which the mention said to download the x86 version even if running 64bit windows.I did and the error went away but now clicking on the DCS.exe behave the same way as clicking on DCS in steam or on desktop. -
I find that the pitch trim that is set for each of these planes is what makes them a handful to take off in.When wheels lift and you have to add alot of nose down pitch or risk a stall and IMO that is just wrong. In the P51 I add in 5 clicks nose down trim while on runway and trim out while airborne and it feels much better.

Just did a fresh install of win10 on brand new hard drive and find that DCS starts in release version but when I install the beta it doesn't load.Opt out of beta and DCS starts but when I reinstall the beta it just hangs and does nothing.Any ideas?

My take after owning warthog and X55 rhino.:music_whistling: First off I agree with Ralfidude's take on X55 in every way.Its just a very awkward feeling HOTAS and returned it the very next day.The joystick buttons are a pain in the ass to reach, the sticks spring mechanism itself just feels wrong and the throttle has ill placed buttons as well.As for the Warthog,I just returned it yesterday after owning for 25 days.Just did not like the feel of it,which is counter to everyone else who owns one.The slew is terrible and for me this is a big detriment. When its on your desktop it is also very awkward to use as you have to lift your arms up to use the stick and throttle which actually made my arms super tired.Having to move the HOTAS off to the side and back when not in use is another pain due to the weight of it all.I then purchased a wheel stand PRO and then having to move that even heavier thing from under my desk every time I wanted to do some non SIM stuff on PC was final straw and warthog went back to the store.:joystick: Now I have settled on a sweet little system that comes out to the same price as the X55,or even cheaper at that.Save your money and instead buy a CH Pro throttle and a Thrustmaster T-16000m joystick. My reasons that this is a sweet desktop sim setup are below but I also wanna post here what Wags himself uses. Wags Producer, Kool-Aid Mixer Join Date: Jul 2004 Posts: 9,187 Reputation power: n/a Falcon Northwest Tiki: i7 4770K, 8 GB RAM, GTX 980ti, Windows 10, 1TB SSD, TM Warthog stick with CH Pro Throttle. CH Pro throttle has wonderful placement of 4 hat switches coupled with a wonderful slew joystick all situated right at where your thumb lays.Another 8way hat and 3 normal buttons all with excellent placement also. You can set one of the three buttons as a modifier and you have 8 hats then to setup for use.Again all ergonomically well placed.More pluses for the CH throttle are that one,it moves forwards and backwards without tilting which makes the ergonomics always feel the same(the warthog and X55 throttles lean forward making hat switches change their attitude) and second is that it all sits a bit lower so you can lean your elbows on desk and move throttle comfortably. The T-16000m stick has same HALL sensor as warthog so is very precise while also having twist stick function for those who need it.The stick centering mechanism itself feels really nice. Now the last thing for me and of which is very important is that the pieces are light and so I can quickly move them off to the side of my desk for other PC use and vice versa.:thumbup:
