  1. I think we could use a higher zoom level. Why did ED not implement it as for regular 2D screens, where you can assign an axis to the zoom level? atm it is only on/off, and the zoom level is barely x2, if that, right?
  2. Do you have mirrors on? (I know the Gazelle doesn't have mirrors, but do a search in the Gazelle bugs forum, you will see many people experience a gain of 10-20 fps when turning mirrors off).
  3. I can only second that. C'mon DCS, update 2.0 to the latest module standard. You've been neglecting us 2.0 users for months now!

Guess I didn't make myself clear: Like you I want them to focus on the merge, but it seems now they are doing three things in parallel: a) Update old T3 Caucasus (these are the 1.5.x updates we are seeing) b) Update T4 Nevada map c) work on T4 Caucasus for the merge We both want them to focus on c), but you want them to do that at the expense of b), I say, focus on c) at the expense of a). That's all I tried to say.
  5. According to Wag's latest update we are looking at the end of 2016 for the merge. If ED waited that long to update Nevada, that would be a real tragedy. I would like them to do the exact opposite, leave T3 (was it T3?) Caucasus alone, and update the only map with T4 technology we have right now. Unless they will introduce T4 into Caucasus gradually step by step, then by all means update the Caucasus map regularly with bits of T4 technology. Just my 50 cents...
  6. just downloaded and installed teamviewer. Have never used it before. Is it like teamspeak? Do I just need to run it, connect with the detail's given by flight controll, and that's it. Or do I need to know anything else about teamviewer?
  7. I didn't add the mirror toggle, but turned the mirrors off altogether. Also saw a 10-20 fps increase in the Gazelle (when flying around, not on the ground). Strange, because the Gazelle doesn't have any mirrors, right? Hope the devs will look into this.
  8. How long has it been since there was an update for Nevada? Ages, I am starting to despair:cry: Not talking about making major changes to the map, but just bringing DCS 2 up to date regarding modules. We are forced to fly around in very old Mirage and Gazelle patches:furious:

  10. I (one of the people with significant performance drop due to low GPU usage) have mostly tested it with helo flights, specifically Gazelle and Mi-8, but also mirage flights.
  11. Hi, Thanks for the explanations. I have a question: how do I check disk I/O (I have been looking at it using the performance monitor accessed via CTRL-ALT-DELETE (I have disk C SSD, disk D HD, disk F SSD and the highest usage ever is 6%). My RAM and VRAM are nowhere near full (I have been testing it with a single flight mission). So do you think the disk I/O problem could apply to me, probably not, right?

  15. Wouldn't count on it. Several users have applauded 1.5.4 for an increase in FPS, so unless we keep this thread alive, ED will think everything is great.
  16. Makes no difference. I reduced visible range from extreme to high, only a slight improvement, if any (the only thing I notice in a decrease in latency when I move the head around). As soon as I look at (even a nearby) town, FPS and GPU usage drops by a factor of 2 at least.
  17. For all it's worth: I have the same problem. Low FPS when looking at towns. Seems to be related to low graphics card usage when looking at towns. My graphics card usage for 1.5.4 is typically 60%, but when I look at town it is only 30%, with a proportional drop in FPS. For comparison, 2.0 runs at 100% GPU usage.

  19. Question: What do those technical terms mean? What's an 8k texture (is that the resolution, is that the reason why flying around in 1.5 with this mod nearly fills up the whole 8GB VRAM on my card?) What's a compressed 8k texture. Is it compressed to lessen the download time, or is it compressed to take less VRAM? Or what? Thanks in advance for your explanations! SW keep up the good work!

  22. Hopefully they'll also update the stable version today. I run only the OpenBeta, and this OpenBeta is not compatible with the stable version's MP net code, AFAIK. Any word on that, yet?

  24. What do you use for the mic switch then, isn't the trigger button in helos usually the mic switch (it is in the Huey and Mi-8, right?)
  25. I have the same problems with trackIR as the others have described. Just wanted to add that in case there is any doubt whether this is a widespread problem ..
