Clouds Disappearing
Highwayman-Ed replied to tom1502's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
yep, popping in and out quite regularly for me, not to mention that them spinning when looking around in VR is quite nauseating! -
(Unable to reproduce) I think VR Aircraft Scale is Off
Highwayman-Ed replied to mytai01's topic in VR Bugs
Personally, I don't have an issue with scale of anything. It reminds me how small the Gazelle cockpit was! -
The MiG-21 is one of my favourite pits with my Rift. I do wish that there was a pilot body as it feels odd without one (as do the other planes), but you certainly won't be disappointed. I've had no related performance issues, and the only 'issue' if you can call it that is that the sides of the aircraft (outside) have a missing texture placeholder, but this can't be seen from a normal seating position, I only noticed it as I was getting up when I still had my rift on.

mousecursor looses game window by clickable cockpit controls
Highwayman-Ed replied to sloot_FX's topic in VR Bugs
I use Voice Attack with my rift, it makes things so much easier...! Once I'm in VR, I use a voice attack command to make DCS go full screen by issuing an ALT-Enter key stroke, this resolves the issue for me. -
As NEWY says, make sure that your rift headphones are selected as your default Audio device in Windows AND in the Oculus application in the device settings. Mine work perfectly.

Not a major thing, but I noticed then I leaned over the side of my MiG-21 with my Rift on, that there is only a small part of the model there and textures are missing from it (Standard VVS Grey Skin). F2 view is perfect for these parts. I was actually standing up when I saw it to get out of my sim chair with my rift still on, so it's not normally seen.

YAY! Now all we have to do is figure out how to 'Arm' it with P51D mustang pilots and get it to Bomb targets with paratroops! Any way you Super heroes know of to make a weapon that would call the bailing out pilot shape?

I take it back, it's still FUBAR'd

+1, just implement the current Aircraft feature for Ground units, it works really well for planes

Please don't take my comments as negative criticisms, more critiques in a intentionally helpful manner :) I can honestly say that the work and efforts of you gentlemen and a couple of others is what breathes at least some life into the WWII aspect of DCS beyond pure dog fighting. I for one am incredibly happy with what you have produced (as are many others) and I've hosted a few sessions in Australia recently within our group hunting down the He-111's. We found the same issues that you mentioned above trying to get them to hold formation and shoot back and I tweaked the lua's of the ones that were using as I mentioned to only fire half of the available turrets. Still trying to get both happening at the same time ;) If there is anything we can do to assist you with testing these, we would be more than happy to do so and wait eagerly for what comes next!

Me neither, I've tinkered and played around, even going so far as to try and mount turret mount scripts from tanks and ships and haven't gotten anywhere. Just a suggestion, but for the time being until we find it, it might be worth reducing the amount of guns, and increasing the ammo count to simulate only 2 or 3 turrets being brought to bear on you rather than all of them as they have an unlimited field of fire.
-
Love the work you guys are doing on this, Next question, is there any way to create the guns as turrets so that only the guns on a certain position fire at you rather than all of them?
-
Are you running any mods at all?

Hmmm... The humiliation and scorn already poured upon me by my wife when I'm wearing my rift couldn't get any worse could it...? My wife already told me that when I fly in DCS with my Rift on I look like Stevie Wonder playing piano... Just without the talent, charm, money or dress sense! GIFSoup

And how am I supposed to lean out of the side of my mustang with my canopy open whilst I taxi if it gets restricted!

[REPORTED]The trim does not work in flight.
Highwayman-Ed replied to ThorBrasil's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Mirage 2000C trim seems to be OK as well as the MiG-21 -
Previously reported in the Open Beta: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169080 The issue is better than it was, and I'm not seeing parts of my Aircraft or its stores clipping, but it's still noticeable on the left side of the left view port for the terrain, buildings and trees I'm afraid :(
-
You're welcome to try using my default saved views here just extract this to your Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config directory. Make sure to backup your own folder if you already have some of your own default views set first! I've tweaked the default views for most DCS Aircraft to suit my personal taste with the Oculus Rift.
-
OK, it's an odd request, but flying with the Oculus Rift with no pilots in some of the aircraft feels just wrong! Please give us pilots in more of the planes!

Check the mapping for the key in your controls, I seem to remember that a couple of aircraft were not the default RALT + NUM0 I'd recommend moving your sensor a little further away if you can too.
-
Personally I'm not seeing the views move over time, although I haven't spent that much time in the A-10C beyond 20 minutes or so. Once I setup all of the Snap Views to my liking, everything has been great with all of the cockpits, the only issue being that the mirrors are now out of position in the aircraft that I had to make the greatest adjustments to such as the A-10C and the F-15C. I spent 2 hours in the seat of my L-39 a few nights ago practising RSBN navigation and circuits and didn't have to recenter my view once after the initial cockpit entry. Where is your sensor stand positioned? Mine is offset to the right by 20 degrees, same height as my Oculus and 2 meters away and I know for sure that it cannot move whilst I'm in flight (vibration from sound, cables twisted, etc).

Thanks for reminding me to do this, I've always meant to get around to doing it, now I have it's great!

1.5.4.54316.106 Ground clutter (grass) is flickering in the right eye periodically. It's not a consistent flicker that occurs all of the time, or at a set interval, but for a split second the ground clutter appears to warp out of place and then back to it's correct position. Most noticeable when taxiing and some airfields appear to be impacted more than others, Novorossiysk (every 2 or 3 seconds) for example seems worse than some others such as Mozdok (once or twice every 10 seconds). Didn't notice this issue prior to this version. Using the VR Preset with Pixel density at 2.0

Still present in 1.5.4.54316.106

[REPORTED]The trim does not work in flight.
Highwayman-Ed replied to ThorBrasil's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Confirmed here that with a G27 plugged in I have no trim either (force feedback checked or unchecked). Unfortunately due to my slightly OCD, ultra neat freak cable management It's not really an option for me to unplug and replug at will
