VoiceAttack Radio Commands for UH-1H
Highwayman-Ed replied to Highwayman-Ed's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the pointer JLX, but that option has been removed from the VoiceAttack version that I'm running. I can customise the commands for you to make them simpler, but in testing I found that adding radio made the voice detection more accurate. I also ran into issues when creating too many choices for the command, so stuck with what it is now. As for the Mi-8, it's in progress, ARC-9 and R-828 are done and the R-863 is underway :) -
I've made a post and demo video over on the input / output thread for a VoiceAttack profile to control the radios of the Huey. Rather than posting the same stuff in two threads, see here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2926887

Uopdate: Now available for free to anyone. See this post: When flying the Huey tuning the radios can be a little tricky whilst in flight. This has become especially tricky for me since getting a rift as I can no longer use programs like helios, and I don't even know where my keyboard is when flying. Faced with this challenge, I turned to VoiceAttack. This has been a love / hate affair, but after a lot of blood (ok, maybe not blood), sweat and tears I've eventually finished a profile to tune the radios using my voice (and virtual co-pilot) alone. After investing a lot of time into this, I've decided to publish a light version for free which will allow you to have your virtual co-pilot tune the VHF radio to any Tower frequency on the Georgia map. See the demo video below. The full version that allows you to tune the FM, NAV, VHF and UHF radio to ANY frequency that the radio supports, as well as the airports and beacons of the Nevada map is available for US$2 via paypal. PM me if you're interested and I'll send you the details! I also have profiles in progress for the SA342 Gazelle, and the Mi-8 and expect to have those ready by the end of the weekend which I'll also be publishing for $2 each, or $5 for all profiles. Please note the following. 1. The Profile was built with VoiceAttack preview version 1.5.12.24. This no longer uses DirectX mapping as there have been some changes, so if you wish to run the profile, you'll need to run this version, or wait for the next standard release version. 2. You should run the Windows Voice training several times before using Voice Attack as it can sometime have difficulty hearing things like VHF as VHF.

As usual Ciribob, your support is fantastic. the new API version works for me :)

Could I please request an option to stop the VHF, UHF and Nav radios from looping? To explain why, in flight it can be quite challenging to tune the radios, and with a rift on, accessing keyboard shortcuts or anything that isn't at your finger tips can be a challenge, so I turned to VoiceAttack. I've written a set of prefix and suffix commands to tune the FM radio that work beautifully as the FM radio bottoms out at 30.00 MHz and I can set VoiceAttack to tune it down to 30.00 then up from there to whatever frequency I require. Unfortunately, because the other radios loop, it's not quite so easy. I'm working through some options in VoiceAttack, but it's proving to be a real challenge. If there were an option available to tick in the options to stop the radios looping, it would be fantastic. For anybody interested, here are the FM tuning commands. Simply say "Tune FM Three One decimal seven five". This is done with two parts a prefix "Tune FM Three One" and a suffix "decimal seven five". --------------------------------- Edit: I figured out how to program all of the radios with VA (except the ADF), but it's a long, long process to build all of the commands out. The feature would still be nice ;)

So I know we already have the rings that show range of the radar if applicable and the weapon itself, but I'd love to be able to set an altitude that shows the actual WEZ coverage over the terrain, just like the ABRIS does on the KA-50 when the terrain obscures the line of sight from the launcher. This would make the task of building missions with requirements to stay out of radar detection and SAM engagement bubbles much easier.

Just to liven the thread up, I'll post a promo video of the upcoming DC-3 that the boys are working hard on. Markindel really has done some great work with the 3D model, Stonehouse's tweaking the flight model and CrazzyEddie skinning the hell out of it, she's going to be a great little mod. I'll hasten to add that there is a lot of work in progress in the video, textures are just at the first pass and are nothing much more than 'functional' right now, flight model is getting a work over and the cockpit animations grow by the day. There's still a way to go yet, but every day brings progress.

The 3rd space one is USB and works much like the JetSeat does from what I've read. I does however have a pretty shocking reputation on the internet as being poorly manufactured, 3rd space giving poor / if any support and buggy software... The KOR FX Vest on the other hand works like a Butt kicker and takes a sound input into the Wireless transmitter that communicates via Bluetooth to the vest. No plugins, software or export from DCS required! This audio input can be tweaked to work from certain frequencies and by all accounts works really well from what I've seen. On the downside, it uses batteries (albeit it makes it totally wireless for use) and looks like a sports bra! But add on something like this too... I think I may enter the Matrix when all this kit matures!

In theory, this shouldn't be much harder to do than the way we used to do things with view ports in the Monitor config lua files, for those of us that used to use multiple monitors with DCS. After all, the left and right eyes of the rift are just monitors, albeit with unique properties... Theory being that you get the standard stereo output option, and add another view port making that the default for the UI... I tried (very briefly) doing exactly that with the monitor config files, but I think the Rift detection circumvents these configurations.
-
They don't necessarily need to do that, just render different content to each screen. Monitor gets standard 2D view, VR gets VR view. Project cars has this implemented perfectly and it works really well.

Too young. Much much too young. His work for the DCS community will be missed. His cows are amongst my favourite mods, strange I know, but they gave life to the fields of Georgia for my Huey to fly over... R.I.P.

Addon Tents, Watchtower, UH-1-Cargo
Highwayman-Ed replied to upuaut's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Upuaut, Love the Milan on the Gazelle and the Wolf... If it is at all in your power to do so, I think we'd all REALLY appreciate a Milan emplacement / infantry team that we could drop off (or at least simulate it) with our transport helos! -
Like this? 3rd Space Gaming vest That said, the reviews for this brand are pretty average Or this one... KOR FX Vest

[Virtual Reality] Replace the default Hangar plane with the mirage!
Highwayman-Ed replied to sabreman's topic in M-2000
Ignore that, add them in the same as you would call the aircraft model and position them to the pylons. The only thing I have to figure out now is how to rotate them... (WIP) scene.m = sceneAPI:addModel("mk-82a", -0.622000, 1.061, -3.132000); -
[Virtual Reality] Replace the default Hangar plane with the mirage!
Highwayman-Ed replied to sabreman's topic in M-2000
Thanks Sabreman, Any idea if we can use any arguments to arm the aircraft? -
Digging up something from the past here, but if you could post up the markings here from the templates Cobra, that would be useful for the skin makers. I recently come back around to the idea of having a couple of fictional factions involved in conflicts ignoring topology and manufacturers. I even though of adding in Essos and Westeros too and other 'factions' :)

Hey guys, great mod I'm having a blast with some new friends for my F-5E and MiG-21 to play with. One minor issue though, none of the aircraft have a functioning Red navigation light... All of the others work perfectly. Any Ideas? DCS World 1.5.4 Going through the model viewer, it looks like argument 191 for the port nav light isn't bound to the model :(

Hell I'd be happy just to see her as an AI helping me out with my Huey missions :)

I've been thinking something along the same lines, that we could have a new model for cargo drops and paratroopers, but that of course required a 3d model... I'm pretty sure that the bailout call is tied to the 'death blow' of an entity in DCS as you can specify the pilot type for the bailout in any models lua file, but it's not tied to the actual model itself, only the object it calls. I've been rooting around with any and every lua I can think of trying to find out where the object spawn is called and haven't gotten anywhere yet, but I haven't given up yet!

Thanks guys, I have noticed that some of your skins Eddie, namely the airliners are spot on. We all really appreciate your efforts!

Hey guys, really looking forward to all the upcoming planes! Just a couple of things with the DC-3 though. 1st, I seem to get a distinct split between the two halves of the fuselage, it happens with all of the skins, some are more noticeable than others though. 2nd, in the dcs.log, it notes that there are some textures missing from the package; 00061.478 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "c47_fusoliera" not found 00061.493 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "c47_1_t" not found 00061.500 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "c47_1_t_bump" not found 00061.507 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "c47_1_t_spec" not found 00061.531 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "raf" not found 00061.537 ERROR DX11BACKEND: texture "dc3_bump" not found I've checked and re-downloaded and re-checked the package in the DCS User Files Section and they're definitely not there.

Passenger Jets Models
Highwayman-Ed replied to dresoccer4's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I personally however would like to chime in and agree that I'd like more civilian AI planes in the game to fill out an important role. They're needed to fill out our airports, Tbilisi & McCarren and there are only so many Yak-40's and AN-26's you can place before it gets repetitive. This 707 is a welcome addition, great job guys, now how about some Airbus, ATR's or DC-10's?
