Take Off and landing:
-
You can also adjust your prop pitch manually to prevent the engine from dying

EDIT: I didn't take the changes to the default.lua into account. Just ignore this...:music_whistling: I wanted to try todays update and noticed that my binding for the TDC Range didn't work so I checked the options and noticed that my assignment disappeared. After rebinding it still doesn't work ingame although it jumps to the binding in the options when I press the button. O and L still work but that isn't usable while flying.

I can't really put my finger on it but it doesn't feel right after a couple of rearms/refuels. I know about the nose cone, so that's not it. Even with a clean aircraft landings especially become increasingly difficult with time. No Idea what that is. Even repair doesn't fix this.

I'd sent them in. My Saitek pedals work absolutely fine. -
Landing lights are broken and don't work, no light.
Derbysieger replied to Skulleader's topic in 3D Model and Cockpit
They will break as you build up speed if you leave them on. Once they're broken they're not fixed after a repair though, so there's a bug ;) -
TM Warthog Keybinds For 3 and 2 Position Switches

Thank you for this ;) -
With HOTAS Warthog we must change the values like this ?
Derbysieger replied to Skulleader's topic in MiG-21Bis
No curvature or deadzone works fine with the WH HOTAS. With that stick there is no need for it tbh. I fly all my fixed wings without curvature. Dogfighting with curvature can be a huge PITA for example. -
I agree with DavidRed here. To me it really isn't more difficult than the Mustang and you don't need a lot of right stick to keep her straight if you didn't overcompensated with your rudder. A few things to consider for those with problems and those who think that something is off: #1: The Dora has more power than the Mustang AND is lighter! #2: Only elevator trim can be adjusted by the pilot, trim tabs for rudder and ailerons are set on the ground for a specific speed and RPM range and cannot be adjusted during flight. #3: The tail wheel is either locked or completely free which means that you need rudder authority asap - so set T/O power before you release brakes. In the Mustang it moves a little bit. Even with the stick pulled back. #4: On the Dora you use take off flaps. If you ever forgot to retract flaps on the Mustang before take off you will notice a heavy left rolling tendency. It's worse than what happens in the Dora because if you forget them they are fully lowered. #5: According to Yo-Yo, Erich Brunotte, a German WWII fighter pilot who flew the Dora, was able to take off and put her through some maneuvers w/o problems and even helped fix a little bug in EDs FM that went unnoticed until then. I'm pretty sure he'd have noticed glaring issues. If there really is a bug it should be fixed but the only thing we have right now is some people who think something is off but no concrete evidence.

But in the Mustang you just cut MP, right? I'm sure there is a pretty significant difference between just cutting your MP on the Mustang or reducing RPM to 600 in the Dora which you shouldn't even do on the ground!

Engine controls, management, RPMs and Manifold pressures
Derbysieger replied to Juuba's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
@Skull: That is just copy&pasta from the flight manual. As I said on reddit, the quote from p. 25 of the flight model seems to be plain wrong. I would agree with Kane that it is nonsense in regard to the Jumo 213. -
I really don't understand this though. I took off on my first attempt in the Dora. It was messy, yes but I got into the air without damaging the aircraft. I cannot tell you how many crashes I had back in the P-51D Beta before I managed to take off for the first time but there were a lot of them. Now, I don't have any problem with the Mustang or the Dora. Difficulty seems to be roughly the same. Do they behave different? Yes. Is one harder to take off than the other? IMO no, I don't see a huge difference in difficulty.

MiG-21 LAUNCH TRAILER & ANNOUNCEMENT - COMING 18/09/2014!
Derbysieger replied to Cobra847's topic in MiG-21Bis
Probably because the internet has proven that people generally don't even read big fat disclaimers. I have witnessed this myself not too long ago It went something like this: DCS player: 'Why can't I activate module X on Steam' Me: 'Didn't you notice the bold, red disclaimer on the ED store?' DCS player: 'Who reads disclaimers?' :D -
Yep, the module is definitely not the problem! I don't find it harder than the Mustang in any way. Of course, the problem with any simulation is that you can not feel the plane moving, making it harder to counter things like torque or roll but with a bit of practice it shouldn't be a problem to anticipate it. The Dora is different from the Mustang, mainly because the tail wheel doesn't move when locked like it does in the Pony but this can easily be compensated by putting the throttle to T/O power, waiting for the RPM to hit ~2700-3000RPM and only then release the brakes. This way you will have rudder authority from the prop wash alone which is enough to keep her lined up on the runway before you build up more speed. I usually line up on the runway, lock the tail wheel and brake. I then center the stick, set the Bediengerät to Startleistung (T/O power), release the brakes just before the nose comes down and instantly, but carefully apply right rudder. In crosswind conditions I will keep the stick centered until I hit ~160km/h.

Actually the Dora has very nice and satisfying gear up/down sounds

Wettereinstellungen sind: Base: 800m; Thickness: 2000m; Density: 3; Wind: at 10m: 3m/s 266° at 2000m: 9m/s 308° at 8000m: 14m/s 265° Turbulence: 7m/s*0.1

MiG-21 LAUNCH TRAILER & ANNOUNCEMENT - COMING 18/09/2014!
Derbysieger replied to Cobra847's topic in MiG-21Bis
As stated earlier I had to remove clouds because they weren't synched for all players. Might have something to do with join in progress. IDK. But we definitely had problems with clouds not being synchronized for all players in my dogfight mission. -
MiG-21 LAUNCH TRAILER & ANNOUNCEMENT - COMING 18/09/2014!
Derbysieger replied to Cobra847's topic in MiG-21Bis
From my experience clouds are NOT synchronised in MP which is why I run the dogfight mission I have set up for our small community without clouds. When I first put it together I had clouds between 800m and 2000m at density 3 and when we tested the mission we had some players who were flying through clouds while others didn't see them fly through a cloud. -

I'd like to know this as well. ATM I mostly use manual control because this way it's far easier to keep the temperatures at the right levels
