  1. Seems weird. Works just fine for me, The difference between the barometric altitude and radar alt is because I'm flying over the see at the time of the 2nd screen.: http://www.abload.de/img/dcs2013-01-0817-40-2412f8o.png http://www.abload.de/img/dcs2013-01-0817-43-17b1in8.png
  2. yeah seems like it. I did a reinstall of World with all my modules (A-10C, Ka-50, P-51D) just a few days ago. Everything was normal then.
  3. Hi, I searched the forums for this but I didn't find a solution. Changing disable_events = false, to disable_events = true, in my network.cfg has no effect whatsoever... I've been on Servers that had these messages disabled so I wonder if I need to change something else for this to take effect. I know about the mod that disables these messages client side but I want them to be disabled for all clients when I host a mission ;)
  4. just assign your Z-axis like this: http://www.abload.de/img/launcher2012-12-2014-pxkce.png
  5. Maybe the target area was around the Tbilisi area? I remember gettíng that message on the HUD when I was landing in Lochini.
  6. I've seen this in an older video, however I don't see an option for this???
  7. If you shut down the engines without having groundpower on or the APU with generator running you need to reload all systems not just DSMS. €: Also you need to wait for the navsystems to align so make sure groundpower is on if you need to shut down the engines for repair - it saves time.
  8. If you shut down the engines make sure the APU is running and the APU-Gen is on or ask the crew to turn groundpower on
  9. That's no problem. Just download the A-10C module for DCS: World from digitalcombatsimulator.com, install it and activate it with the key you got with your DVD-Version ;) cheers
  10. You can definitely use the key you get on steam for the DCS: A10C module for World or the 1.1.1.1 download version from digitalsimulator.com ;)
  11. I always set latch on but JDAMs are not LGBs. Most of the time I use auto lase for LGBs, yes.
  12. Yeah that's a very good tutorial. However I prefer to have my HUD as SOI when I'm dropping multiple JDAMs because switching between markpoints with the DMS is faster.
  13. You can switch to the next steerpoint with the rockerswitch on the UFC or with the HUD as SOI you can press DMS up short. To slew the sensors to your SPI press China Hat forward long.
  14. Turn PAC off. It trims your aircraft and stabalizes it during the attack. The GAU-8 is extremely powerfull. Turn PAC off and see what happens when you pull the trigger.
  15. I have had games that wouldn't run unless I updated DirectX even though I already had DX 9 installed so it's definitely a possibility.
  16. My best takeoff so far (full realism): A5xIsT8His4 Didn't manage to land yet ...
  17. I only got TIR three days ago and yes I already do this even though I have only a few hours clocked with TIR xD
  18. If they are going to release a TOH version with RTT and proper flight characteristics I will be all over this mod. Naturally I'm going to play around with the A2 mod but RTT would add so much more to this already awesome project.
  19. Not quite sure if sarcastic or not (honestly, just tell me ;) ) The one thing that is really good about the Hinds is the FM. And I prefer the feel of a traditional helicopter over a coaxial rotor design. That was all I was trying to say. I still enjoy the Black Shark (and of course the A-10C) - it's just a different experience.
  20. Sure but I can still have fun until I can afford it and then look back and say how could I do without for so long, right? :D I'm just a poor student who was unfortunate enough to inherit some (read: not enough) money last year (as a german you should know what that usually means in this country).
  21. I don't have TIR yet. I only got into flightsims about a year ago and I just can't afford it atm but it's definately top priority. I heard about the TIR issue though and there is already a CIT ticket up: https://dev-heaven.net/issues/26500 Vote to make BIS aware that it needs to be fixed asap.
  22. The biggest changes are in regards to the FM. And that's what TOH is all about in the first place - something you cannot show in any video. And that's exactly why I like the Hind and think it was worth my money. In the end of the day everyone has to decide for himself. If you think it's not worth the money don't buy it or wait until the price drops. There are currently still problems with the medium heli (some weird bug that disables torque effects for me and some other players) and the heavy heli isn't quite there yet but the light helicopter handles very well and the FM of the Hind is excellent. BIS got rid of the green boxes for the missiles on the SuperHind. I don't know if it is intentional or a bug but I like it. It also has the biggest changes regarding FCS for missiles (e.g. manual guidance using the FLIR monitor, nothing fancy though). FCS are a little more detailed than in Arma 2 but if you're playing as a Pilot you only give orders to your gunner - how else would it be? And to be honest you simply cannot expect a full sim for 13 bucks (Hind DLC). It certainly is not a game for everyone but anyone who wants to get a good flightexperience might want to have a look at it. Like Arma it's rough around the edges but once you get into it it's great fun. The Arma 2 maps are by far my most favourite and I would've paid 10 bucks to get a proper port - now BIS is giving them for free which is amazing. I bought the Black Shark earlier this month and flying that thing isn't as much fun as the Hind in TOH (even though I'm convinced the FM is properly simulated, it's just a different design). It's the detailed avionics that are interesting about it and make it fun for me. It has a coaxial rotor and it almost flies itself (which is needed in a single seat attack chopper tbh). A totally different experience with another focus. I'm still learning to use all the systems obviously. It's a full simulator whereas TOH is a simulation game with focus on the flightexperience. And in that regard it delivers and gets better with every patch (unless it brakes something herp derp). Anyway, the point is I like TOH for what it is. And I'm confident that BIS will fix the obvious shortcomings like the HUD. It is pricy and because of that I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I won't play much of Arma 2 after the patch comes out tbh. Only for the occasional ACE Coop mission or PR: A2.
  23. 70$ for TOH:H bundle right? Wow! I always forget how much the € is worth these days... TOH costs 39.99€ here in germany which is the normal price for a full priced PC game and the bundle is 49.99€ (skyrim price). Then again, I preordered TOH and Hinds so I paid ~10€ less overall. When you consider what you will get for that money it's actually not bad: Two large maps, 3 different civilian helicopters, a campaign, some challenges and time trials, 3 Hind variants + 4 challenges + Time Trials and in a future patch the complete Arma 2 content for free. The arma 2 maps will get improvements on lighting etc. I can't wait to see the updated sky.
  24. Two videos flying the Mil Mi-24 Mk.III One of my first flights over South Asia terrain: Hind over Chernarus: I'm really looking forward to the official Take On Arma Patch. It's going to be great! All in all I'm happy with the DLC even though there are some things I don't like like the HUD and the magic radar. Hopefully these things will get fixed in future patches. According to Dwarden they're working on the HUD but no promises about the RWR. What I really like is the FM of the Hind. I think BIS has done a great job on this one. It handles like I would expect a helicopter like this to handle. I'm no expert of course but BIS worked with Pilots from the Czech army to get it right. It's a bit pricy but don't forget that we're getting the Take On Arma patch for free so I think it's well worth supporting BIS.
